  1. Even quicker than I expected. Saying he could barely walk is needlessly emotive and incorrect. Was his point not that he thinks Isak could get his fitness levels up and become better at hold up play? Learning from Tuesday, those would be positive developments for player and fans alike. Think of it as “yes he’s great but he could be even greater with more work and time”. It’s ok to say and hear negative things; it can (and often does) lead to positive things as a direct result. Questioning whether someone might be fitter isn’t saying that they didn’t put in a great shift or have 2 good games back from injury. It’s just saying that, with hindsight and just as a thought, might be something to work on (especially given our ambitions mean we want this many games or more season after season).
  2. And yes he’s got great fingers
  3. Can you conceive of a reality where he makes both positive and negative contributions to a match?
  4. But it’s accurate to say that he didn’t contribute much in the second half. Yes, he has the excuse of fatigue, but it’s still an accurate comment to say he didn’t contribute much. Why does that have to be viewed as poisonously negative? He scored a goal, missed a sitter, and played quite well for 45 mins but not for the remainder. There is definitely a weird sense on this forum that criticism of player or manager means you’re not one of the team, you’re entitled, you’re difficult etc. for example - I love joelinton, but he’s been not as good this year as he was last year. I still love him and support him, but he needs to be better (particularly his close range finishing).
  5. Or is it that any critique or dissonant thought is met with a persistently unimaginative allegation of blasphemy or entitlement?
  6. Depends on the size / location but it can heal and you can rehab with some stretching.
  7. We kind of do though - they've backed him at pretty much every available opportunity to do so. I imagine they'll do it again in January by buying more players for him.
  8. I agree with you re: precedent, but I've no idea which jurisdiction is usually chosen. I'd assume CAS is the chosen arbitration method, but not sure how they decide which jurisdiction applies if the two sides don't agree. If it's English law we're absolutely going to try and skewer them, I agree; but I reckon it would be hard to prove definitively enough (and that's before we come to the prospect of trying to enforce any such judgment in Italy). I could be wrong - maybe we'd be able to make a persuasive case either way on the balance of probabilities (the civil law burden of proof here). I sort of take your point about PIF, but to me they've come across as not willing to spend if it's not going to produce a useful outcome or a return. For now they'll certainly be investigating the likelihood of being able to get compensation or some form of punishment for Milan / allowance for us in the circumstances.
  9. No, it's factually accurate to describe the Italian court system as corrupt. Stop reaching to excuse your own shortcomings, it's pitiful.
  10. Ah right then, crack on. The world definitely needs more humour like yours.
  11. There’s no such jurisdiction as Britain. Our legal jurisdiction is England and wales. The jurisdiction will very likely have been agreed by the parties in the contract, and is usually chosen by the party with greater bargaining power. If we were super keen to get him and had no idea about the betting problem, it could be that we face Italian jurisdiction. This would be tough because their court system is very corrupt, and Milan are likely well versed and well backed.
  12. No, totally got it, but was just saying that despite the warning label it still didn’t quite stack up. Were I also a clumsy racist, I’d have gone with burritos instead of kebabs.
  13. Do Paraguayans stereotypically like / cook kebabs? I’ve never known a Hispanic society whose main cuisine is kebabs. If we must resort to this lowest common denominator humour, let’s at least be accurate.
  14. Depends on which jurisdiction applies to the contract. Easier if it’s English, but if it’s Italian then I don’t think we’d get very far.
  15. And that's before we get to his Chester J Lampwick footwear.
  16. “I’m a posting addict”
  17. It’s unfair of me to withhold any longer that I’m a lawyer. I can’t see any prospect of a successful claim.
