  1. But they'd announced price cuts for everyone else IIRC
  2. Did anyone who paid up front for 3 years ever get a letter explaining the pirce cuts etc. I suspect this has been put on hold, along with sending out the renewals until we know which division we'll be playing in, but may just never have got my letter.
  3. All i can think of is Kevin Scott, Kevin Dillon and Kevin Brock wearing it. Or Mirandinha !!! And it being the one we wore getting relegated the last time. And a definite no to red numbers
  4. There is a very grave danger that this weeks CL games have had a major impact on us staying up or going down. Playing Liverpool when we do which would have been before their Semi is now irrelevant. The mackems last game of the season against Chelsea being 3 days before the final could be critical as they may well have nothing to play for in the league and chuck their kids out.
  5. Another reason to hope the scousers finish the job in the 2nd half. Last week even losing 3-1 at home there was on booing. Its only half time and you're still going through you pathetic glory hunting wankers.
  6. Smogs next 2 games, both at home, are straightforward. Hull and Fulham. Pompey likewise have 2 homes, against WBA and t'wanderers. The reality of it all it that if we get 9 points the other teams need only to get 6/7. If we get 12 then the others only need 9/10 and looking at the fixtures they'll be perfectly capable. Out biggest issue, apart from poor form, is that over the next 3 weekends we play last out of any of the nearest rivals we'll always be playing catch-up and the psycological effect that brings. The only benefit is that is someone loses a game they are expected to win, like Blackburn v Spuds on Saturday. My 8.25 is now a 9. Must win on Saturday. Simple as that.
  7. I think you'll find it was Sky who announced it. David Craig's "Well respected sources" ruled Mike out. Maybe it was one of the ITKs off here who told Sky to keep the mongs at bay!
  8. Brilliantly timed by the club to have the announcements released late at night when all the mongs had gone to bed or had drunk too many blue WKDs to get to SJP.
  9. Too many people on here, including one thread last week when posters were making insensitive comments about Liverpool wanting the CL tie moved, are oblivious to this and what it meant to all football supporters at the time. I was at White Hart Lane as a 10 year-old in 1987, a couple of years before, and saw from the front row of the stand above what was going on below. Nothing but good luck and the fact that fans were arrested for climbing the fence, meaning others could escape to the EMPTY section to the right, prevented a serious incident that day. Like 2 years later the powers at be washed their hands under the 'hooligan' banner and are still doing the same now with various legislation. I still have a 'dislike' of Police at football matches and that stems from these incidents. Don't even get me started on Police horses. It also doesn't escape my memory, although i wasn't there, the part Toon fans played on the 5th anniversary. Nor will i forget the 10th in 1999 when we played at Hillsborough on the 21st of April and it was the only game in the county not to have a minutes silence held.

    OMG

Paddy Crerand is a prick as well. Does he do nothing but linger around looking to provide quotes.
  11. Bingo. Every game is winable but lets look at the facts that we've won one game all season against teams below up in the table. Hull, Stoke, Wigan at home gave us 2 points yet people expect us to beat Fulham, the smogs and Postsmouth all of a sudden. And even if we did that'd not keep us up.
  12. You're right. In the same way as the smogs weren't expected to beat Liverpool, nor Portsmouth to beat Everton or Stoke to get anything at Villa or beat City. Yet they all did. Everyone else has pulled the rabbit out of the hat yet we haven't. Game over!
  13. In his 9 years at the Toon i'm not sure he saved that many.
  14. Aalborg fans singing 2-0 and you fucked it up.
  15. Blackburn - Played 29, drawn 9 Newcastle - Played 29, drawn 11 Hmmmm Sorry I meant under Sam I get your point but the stats say otherwise. They might have drawn more games 5 to 4 in the relative periods since FSA took over but they've been converted from defeats, so gaining a point rather than losing 2 like us. Since 18th Dec Blackburn W=4, D=5, L=3 Totals 19 points Newcastle W=2, D=4, L=6 Totals 10 points
  16. Blackburn - Played 29, drawn 9 Newcastle - Played 29, drawn 11 Hmmmm
  17. I hope they are thinking like the fans, and i especially hope the management are. Sleepwalking into relegation is about where its at at the moment. And it may have done us good to have spent some time in the bottom 3 before now to galvanise the minds in the same way as its produced 'shock' results for the smogs and Blackburn. I'm still an 8.25 but another of those shock results this weekend for us will go down very nicely.
  18. You've never been to Scotland then. They're not even allowed to drink in the stadium at all.
  19. They'll the same winnable games we've not won all season then?
  20. Possible, but clearly not being done. Unless there really are some crazy fools on here.
  21. I quite like the AC style one. Thanks for your input anyway. Anything other than red and white.
  22. I think the poll needs resetting to reflect the current opinion, as i just can't believe that some people are still living in the world of make-believe that sees there being no chance of going down.
