Manager reatcion Man City 4-0 Crystal Palace Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew on the performance of goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey: "Wayne is going to have to show me this week in training. A mistake at Villa, he needed to respond today and made another mistake. The ball is in his court to keep out the other two goalkeepers but I need to see it in training, I need to see a reaction from him. I will give him that chance because he deserves it."

I can't get over that Match Zone clip.

Never one to mince your words

Oh my fucking god man

Nah, no, no way, nah

Hope he has a burst water pipe in one of the interior walls of his house that is slowly flooding its foundation with no visible external signs of damage.

It's kowtowing to the prehistoric gospel of Sky tbh. You need English, proven players who will graft for you. That's how you compete in this league. Not really thrive or progress, but remain in the league. Good for a club like Newcastle who should aim to survive. It dovetails nicely with Ashley's ambition to buy players at their monetary nadir in the hope they get poached for more, too.

Despite my cynicism about the regime from top to bottom, Aarons was one of the few promising and exciting prospects for NUFC - someone who could genuinely make it big - but unfortunately injuries and being frozen out of the first team picture in these formative footballing years will probably stop him from reaching his maximum potential. For his sake, I hope he gets loaned out or moved on.

English, Premier League experience, resale value, shite.

Got Bellamy from Coventry. Would be cool if Armstrong came back half as good. Could be the pace in a little and large partnership with Mitrovic.

He tends to look a right prick regardless of who's hand hes's shaking. Agreed, motion passed.

His over-reliance on the team being fit ought to start yielding more injuries in the second half of the season. He's over-worked them and the cold January/February bite should start sniping some of them off. Fingers crossed it starts when they let their hair down vs Citeh.

Equaliser from left back-ish against Man Utd from distance? Shades of David Edgar.

Think that's my favourite Squires ever. Rich vein of form he's in!

That was my first thought too. You're young, rich (or will be) and famous so why the hell would you tie yourself down at such a young age? edit: seems Ameritoon already answered that question: Free and swinging isn't for everybody tbf. Having your own young family is probably good for moral support and perspective, and helps to ground some of the players who would otherwise be a decadent danger to themselves with all the money and temptation around them!

If the club can get him fit and motivated I think he'll do well. It's NUFC though so it won't work out.

Inter lost today, I see. Juve have stormed back this season.

I for one am shocked.

He doesn't He's superimposed his rationale for why he thinks he ought to have won on to the voters.

Is goal line technology used in the FA Cup yet? As in, at every ground etc? Not sure how this would work logistically, if they can't apply the same refereeing standards to Morecambe vs Bristol City as Man Utd vs Watford. They would be better off doing it in the PL IMO, if this is the direction they want to go in. Offsides and goal-line technology are the only ones which I can see as being empirically measurable beyond doubt. Also, mistaken identity I suppose. Everything else is and always will be subjective. Even so-called 'stonewall penalties'. I'd much prefer if retrospective subjectively-assessed punishments were handed out for diving*, everything else is just intrinsically part of the game. * - even that is tricky, because at present only something which a broadcaster highlights would be up for review by the panel responsible for deciding whether a player dived. As we all know, Sky and the BBC have biased idiot pundits. It sounds silly, but having non-media staff whose job it was to search for simulation would be better. They'd then submit each case to the 'diving' panel for adjudication and sentencing.

On the other hand it's a lovely stadium, he'd play on a huge stage and entertain a lot of people given the chance. Toxic people though.
