  1. Well Blobby must go in the summer once Darlow joins. Clear out the Pardew players, what about the coaches?
  2. Was he a Pardew inspired signing? Does this mean Obertan gets sold soon?
  3. ......if only they had play offs and time outs......coming soon
  4. We no longer play FA Cup games in Feb so it will be the Friday before the 5th round.
  5. I think part of the problem is that he was bought to replace Colo not play with him. Colo and MYM leave you vulnerable in the air against a big striker.

    Papiss Cissé

He bought the club and the debt to cover the stadium expansion became repayable. If he hadn't bought the club we'd have been paying interest and a capital repayment over a period of 20 years or so. Possibly £7m pa. So, in this instance, I thing the club benefits from the way Ashley has handled this as long as he takes less than £7m a year and he's taken nothing so far. At least that's my take.
  7. Could Schuster be coming on a short term contract to see the season out?
  8. Happy to sell, other teams are just targeting him as he hangs onto the ball too long and has a first touch that can go further than his shots. No wonder Pardew didn't like it when we had the ball.
  9. Moncur was better than both. Classy defender who scored three goals in a cup final to lift silver as captain. Captain of national team too. No contest.
  10. Club probably leaked his performing badly to get him to drop his salary and coaching demands. Of all the suitable contenders he is the only one available now and is Charnley prepared to roll the relegation dice?

    Lee Charnley

Well I'm clearly in a minority here but I think the statement takes us forward a little. Of course some of what he says is hardly credible, every club must have a resilience plan to see out an emergency and replacing AP must have been a consideration. On the player side of things he is clearly saying we can survive until the summer. Likewise on the Head Coach front. Many may disagree with his analysis but at least he has come out and begun to clarify the position as seen inside the club. I think the Coach role is a positive contribution to get value from Carr's players and even can see an Anita dig at Pardew when he says that there is no point buying players if they are not picked. For sure actions are louder than words but accountability only comes once you have outlined some sort of plan. So for me making any statement was a first step on a long road. (Puts helmet on)
  12. I just feel I am wasting my weekend - haven't enjoyed going for a while now. The current plan is to cancel - the club have two weeks to change my mind. Likewise. Sold my tickets for the past three games and didn't really miss going. Got two great seats and reluctant to give them up so hope Charnley and Carr can surprise us.
  13. I think they're wanting to drag this on to on or near the season ticket renewal date of the 31st Jan before making a non announcement on the coach front and a loan signing to keep us all sweet till summer, maybe Niang.
  14. Can someone explain the reasoning behind this? The guy must be the polar opposite of Pardew. Au contre. Same tactics and outcome that Pards pioneered in the closing 20 mins of the Derby.

    John Carver

MA should have insisted they all went to Palace
  16. Carver showing he is a poor coach who is not afraid to annoy the fans with a weak team selection - he's Mike's new puppy dog
  17. I'd be surprised if he isn't. Goalkeeping takes experience. Moreso than any other position. Without it you're going to be s*** unless you have crazy talent. I agree that the kids take time to learn when to come for crosses, when to punch etc but the third goal against Burnley has to be saved. His reach is too small, his dive too late and his wrists too weak. Something like 19 shots on target have resulted in 13 goals. Blame the defence for that as well mind.
  18. The nearest thing to a coach was when he parked the bus against Chelsea
  19. Alnwick Janmaat Colo Dummett Haidara Colbeck Tiote Cabella Sissoko Perez Riviere Is what I'd go for
  20. Compensation is probably £2m down, balance if Palace stay up.
  21. Was about to give up our season tickets but that's now on hold till events unfold. Must be others in a similar boat?
  22. Happy to be a critic of Pardew but he got it right today. We are well suited to teams trying to dominate us and are getting better on the break. Would have been interesting if Abied was fit to see if he would have started ahead of Tiote. Was Cabella injured or just a tactical sub?
