  1. and they are playing our second team too
  2. Felt to me like he was trying to generate last minute bids, so I am trying not to hope too much that there is at least some interest.
  3. My rule change proposal: Game (clock) isn't stopped for subs. All managed by 4th official. Sub comes on when player leaves the pitch as at present but game is running as this happens as in various other sports.
  4. Does that mean we can afford Plea now?
  5. We don't know what it covers...might be a big contingency for a future tax bill
  6. His replacement cost is probably £20m+ tbh. That's what it's all about. Richie is as good as gone. If Palace want £23m for Townsend then we want £18m (23-5) for Ritchie etc

Shelves is the best player in world football of all time - so yes. Bit off thread but watching England last night shows what a dumb decision it was to not take shelve to Russia. Delph, Dier really??
  8. including the possible installation of black seats...
  9. In the Prem Lge FFL I think you get an assist if your effort is saved and someone scores the rebound.
  10. Any idea why Godin isn't getting an assist for the third goal today?
  11. He was all we could get our hands on at the time for the cash we had. i suppose you might argue the money might have been better spent on a loan fee and wages for a better striker, if you were being finicky, not that there's anything to say he would have been allowed to use the money in that way :/ Maybe Abraham from Chelsea on loan would have been a good idea....if only Rafa had thought about that at the start of the window. 12. I think the statement indicates a club sale is not imminent and that he would like Rafa to sign a new contract. I think Rafa will stay next year but to sign a new contract he needs to have final say on transfer deals within an agreed budget and an investment in the training ground / youth development. Not sure Ashley can give up on haggling transfers or plans to be around to see the benefit of youth but he must know he has to keep Rafa (and Lascelles) which his statement kind of acknowledges. On the whole I think the statement is a peace offering but let's see what actions result. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
  13. Will the Kane goal get re-instated? Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
  14. Great call. The way he beats 2 players, almost on the goal line is sublime. One of my favourites, not least as it was scored just before HT as we arrived at the ground after rail chaos. We were so late we had to go in the home end! Young Mark Hately and Neil Webb in their team. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
  15. Who scored have opta match stats Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  16. I was at QPR in the 80s when we blew a 4 goal lead so I tend to relax at 5-0
  17. Clubs do have to capture numbers through the turnstiles for Health and Safety reasons but the official attendance is based everywhere on tickets sold, not just safc. You could no doubt get the actual numbers attending by making a Freedom of Information request to the police. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
  18. Going to announce it pre-match on the pitch I reckon
  19. I really think our media team just saw too good an opportunity. Imagine if it was your job to do the nufc media for new signings, you'd be bored ********. No wonder it was OTT, staff haven't had to work in January for about four years. I'll be interested to see how much he adds to the team; I just can't shake the feeling that it won't be much. I sure as hell hope I'm wrong.
  20. What seems to be missing in the timelines is the December restaurant meeting. The third bid was in and it seems that the curry discussion led towards a possible compromise and chance of a deal. I think we can assume MA thought another bid was coming and when nothing arrived he's spat out his dummy. He didn't want the relegation clauses and didn't want to take the risk of relegation; now he is faced with the latter. In true MA style this may involve three loan signings and lets trust Rafa but it is a risk he is having to now take. Did PCP string him along here to force him into a January decision he didn't want to make? Now that he is taking on the risk of relegation I don't think anything will happen until it is clear which league we are in next year. By then the new TV deal will be known and the impact of the HRMC investigation may be clearer. If we stay up he will want his £350m but that might be easier for PCP to pay knowing we have another year of TV money and a summer to spend and rebuild. I do think he wants out and there is only one buyer in town at present so this will continue to run imo.
  21. Hehe, aye on BBC it'll be... "We have an exclusive interview with New Newcastle United Chairwoman, Amanda Staveley, but first, lets just relive that Ronnie Radford Thunderbolt from 1973." 1972, watch 100 times till you get it right! Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
  22. This. Takes SD closer to being MA's private company and will be to the gain of remaining shareholders if it turns out the company is under valued. Less of those pesky independent investors to deal with. IMO, just speculating.
