Fair sum up bar harsh on Ameobi who was pretty decent today against a very defensively set up Liverpool …i'm a huge fan of Aaorons but he didn't have a great game either and thought Ameobi was at least the same if not slightly better than him overall today. I was very impressed with the resilient defending and attacking with pace last night. City really struggled with our Pace and even attacking players like Aarons defended really well. I agree with this. Seems anyone not foreign and not costing millions is fair game. I'm afraid that is utter rubbish. No it isn't. he gets shitloads of grief on here and never gives less than 100% and is a decent defender. Haidara is better going forward than him but isn't as good a defender but because he's foreign he's lauded on here. 100% agree with Ujpest Doza and Pat Heard. Paul Dummett was awesome last night our MOM. He is a good defender, gives 100% for the Geordie cause and i can't understand why our local lads get so much more stick than the foreigners on here. I think there are quite a few mischief making makems on this site who prey on the weak minded and fickle on here and quite a few just plain dumb idiots too that think just because someone is foreign they automatically must be better than someone who is local. 1. We were really poor against Palace until Aarons came on. 2. We also looked much better with three in midfield (i.e. when we played Villa and City) as Palace got at our defence pretty at will with only two there. Southampton away is going to be a tough game so back to 433 for me with Janmaat and Haidara providing attacks and width Aarons 100% has to start. He was by far our best player in the last game and its hard to see us scoring without him. They will come out the blocks fast and attack us as they usually do. We will need Aarons, Cabellas and our strikers pace to counter attack and cause them problems. Hopefully we can get a good grip of the game as it goes on. Really not sure who to pick up front: Rivierie i expect will start but he can't seem to shoot ? Armstrong is looking really good but could be too early for him, Chucky strangely not had a whiff of first team action yet. Perez maybe ? Someone ideally with pace and can shoot. Three thoughts: 1. Aarons was amazing today and has to be a starter 2. We need Anita or Tiote playing in behind Sissoko and Colback again after Palace got at our defence pretty much at will today. 3. We are in desperate need of a decent striker still. If we can't get Lacazette or similar loaning Joel campbell doesn't seem so silly now if they just help get us through the season. Looks about right bar Willo for Taylor. Its slightly more attacking as De Jong is in for Anita. Very early days i know but really not sure at all about Riviere's shooting ability he really needs a goal. I'd like to see Chucky, Perez or even Gouffran given a chance up front and thought they should have at Gillingham. Pardew will probably try and stop them getting down the flanks and look to destroy them through the middle. We are desperate for a goal so Palace will defend try and frustrate us and as usual try and hit on the break. He could put on Aarons on the left and switch Cabella to the right and really have a go at them. I'd probably do that. I just hope he doesn't start Obertan!

He's quick, deceptively very strong, can lead the line, play up top on his own, seems to have it all apart from …...what i have seen so far he can't shoot ! Which is a bit of a problem for a centre forward. He doesn't seem to know when to pull the trigger and just panics and hoofs it. Its very very early days and hopefully he improves dramatically but i have serious doubts about his shooting ability already. I want to see Chucky given a go ASAP as he seems to know where the back of the net is which is quite useful for a striker. Pardew seems like he's going to stick with him though which is very worrying. Against Palace we need to score: Chucky De Jong Gouffran or Aarons Colback Sissoko Cabella Dummett Colo Taylor Jaanmat Krul Perhaps start with Gouffran and bring on Aarons if needs be (obviously i'd have HBA in for Aarons if there was a cat in hells chance). If Chucky doesn't look up to it give Perez or Gouffran a shot up top.

Yes looks about right but Taylor should play. Really looking forward to seeing a goal. We have to attack and Ferreya could be the man to get us goals. Especially with Cabella and Aarons feeding him and De Jong in behind.

I would quite like to see this team. It has a good balance. Aarons, Colback and Ferreya i'd like to see more of from the bench. Colback central and Sissoko wide might work ….but i like the thought of Sissoko's strength and drives from central midfield. Agree with this. De Jong getting forward a lot. If no HBA as expected i suppose Gouffran is decent and can pop up and score goals as well as track back well ….or much more of a gamble but IF Cabella can play on the right we could throw the dice and play Aarons left. Woulden't be surprised or hugely disappointed to see Sissoko on the right with Colback central. We need a pacey right winger if HBA is finished here.

Spot on ! Sissoko definitely further forward when in possession. Tiote and Anita holding and we can tweak from there if needs be. HBA hopefully to prove he's back to his best !

He's got strength,pace, an eye for goal, intelligence, skill and ability to hold the ball up he just needs Pardew to take the chance on him now. HBA and Remy should be able to play off him really well. Would like to see Dummett and Sammy to get on at some point and if its just not happening for us then Shola 'the mackem slayer' Ameobi needs to come on. What do you base that on? I don't recall anyone being on Keegan's back or Hughton's, because they were doing a decent job. I was on Hughton's back a fair bit like, never thought he was good enough for us like and we should be looking to upgrade even though he did an excellent job in championship. So you were on Hughton's back despite the fact he got us promoted and finishing in a very respectable position in the premier first time round, yet you have a problem with people having a go at Pardew? Have i said i have a problem with it? Just because I’ll voice an opinion against someone elses doesn’t mean to say I have a problem with them. I've always said i do understand why people hate Pardew but personally i'm just backing him to turn it around because he has the players to do so rather than I actually think he is any good. Along with the fact after I thought Ashley did the right think in binning CH, he followed it up with a disastrous appointment and don’t trust him again to make a good judgement call especially now with Kinnear doing the advising. I thought Hughton did his job, got us back in the prem but never felt he could take us any further, thought we should have upgraded but we didn't, rather just side stepped. I think it's the genuine lack of options tbh. ...or because its his best position maybe ? He doesn't get played there enough ! He's not all that great in the tackle and forever mistiming them and giving away freekicks etc. However he really does have a great shot and eye for goal and is a very good passer of the ball ! Attacking midfielder is clearly his best position !
