  1. Post-match interview prediction : "The new coach.. Gray-em, has been trying some new shapes and drills with the team and it didn't seem to work as well as we both hoped. The team are used to playing in a certain way, since before I got here, and we've been trying to make changes, but it's not working as quickly as we thought. If we roll our sleeves up and get stuck into it, it might work, but we need a little bit of luck and time. Look at Tottenham, losing away at Brighton, every game is difficult for everybody. But coming down here to London, through all the snow, you've got to be a bit special to come away with something. Roy's a great manager and he's been at this even longer than I have! I've got over 500 games, and he must have had more than me".
  2. Jesus Christ Hope there's not some Freudian connotations there!
  3. Aye what an image, Steve Bruce being told to keep bashing away while he's sat at his desk.
  4. Don't think he's been too bad for us in his time here, bit like Simpson. Always been bigger issues with the team than his position. Think he could do a job at a higher level, depending on the setup of the team.
  5. The only possibility of him being sacked is a prolonged period in the bottom 3. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't been paying attention. This isn't a football club any more. Is the club higher than 17th? If yes, keep manager.
  6. Like watching a car crash in slow motion, I'm actually enjoying the suspense and speculation right now
  7. Definitely, I but I think it was more expected from him, he was such an explosive player. With Robert, the power came from seemingly nowhere! Robert is one of my favourite ever Newcastle players, for sure.
  8. David O'Leary, John Gregory, Alan Curbishley and Nigel Pearson most likely for me.
  9. I'm sure I heard the same but with Beresford in place of Ginola? I mean the actual truth doesn't matter like, the truth of the matter shines through! Ah that sounds more familiar, would make sense as Beresford had to do the job of two people out of possession to accomodate him
  10. I think I remember an anecdote told about Ginola, where I believe it was Rob Lee that complained to Keegan about Ginola just swanning around in training and not doing anything out of possession in matches. I think Keegan said that his job is to make chances and score goals, and that's what he's measured on. Whereas Rob Lee was measured on how much he ran up and down the pitch and get in the box when in possession. Lee was just told to accept that different players have different standards and different jobs. Rob Lee accepted what Keegan said and just got on with, and the rest was history. Tried to find the story online but can't seem to find it. Maybe I dreamed it Point being, special players should have special rules and good managers know that. Whereas Bruce on Ben Arfa: "I hope Hatem takes in what I've had to say to him because his talent is there for all to see. But talent without hard work means you won't live up to your potential. Unfortunately, to play for me you have to know you are playing for the team." It isn't much of a leap to suggest that even prime Ginola wouldn't have got much of a game under Bruce.
  11. 100%.. TBF I'm trying to compare manure with dogshite, mind.
  12. As much as it pains me to say it, and it really does, Pardew at least managed to get Ben Arfa in his team when he could, despite his apparent lack of team ethic that was supposedly causing dressing room issues behind the scenes (Colo especially taking exception), whereas Bruce never gave him a look in even at Hull fking City.
  13. They're all a fucking embarrassment and should have been no-where near this club.
  14. Thought he looked really poor when he came on yesterday, similar shortcomings to Ritchie when under pressure from what I could see in that he keeps his head down and doesn't look up for the pass. Once saw him get the ball on the outside edge of the area, and as soon as he received it, his head went down, drove forward aimlessly for 10 yards and put a cross in to absolutely no-one. Good off the ball, not so good on it. Reminding me of the old Ayoze, except he could hang on to it under pressure. Really wanted the lad to do well, Bruce's tactics notwithstanding, this is basic stuff for a PL player and his confidence looks shot.
  15. Who'd want to have Paul Dummett on top of their Christmas tree?
  16. Couldn’t agree more, glad I don’t have to get involved, had me round the twist. Have you ever felt like that ?
  17. Pure bollocks. I can think of one bad game he has had. Every game he plays hes either our best player or one of our better players. It just seems an easy thing to say about a flamboyant winger. Yup, lazy analysis.
