  1. If Ashley as the sole owner dies, and all his traceable heirs die, what happens to the company ownership, public auction?

    Rafa Benítez

I haven’t read it, I read much slower than I write and I’m fucked if I’m going to read that. I probably don’t have to though, I assume it’s about how great Rafa is which I don’t need to read to understand. It’s about our Rafa though so I won’t be able to help myself no doubt Sorry just a cheap dig

HTT any chance you could summarise the article toontenacity posted?

IMO HBA > Messi when it comes to running with the ball but I'll probably get chopped down on that one too

    Ronaldo

Bullshit in so many ways. Portugal is a small country, they don't need Ronaldo sitting on the bench for the players to try in the European Championship final ffs. To also suggest in the same post that Ronaldo isn't immensely talented and shouldn't be in the 'top lists' based on talent is just ludicrous. And I've always been in the Messi>>>CR camp. Wow, what a considered response Has my opinion really triggered you that much?

'The opinion', i.e. the collective opinion on here (sorry cliqué) hasn't really changed, it's just me declaring an unpopular opinion.

    Ronaldo

All opinions at any rate, there's no right and wrong answer. If it was absolutely cut and dry, i.e. factual, it wouldn't even be being discussed. If I were to elaborate on my Portugal assertions I'd say that that team needed CRonaldo in the squad, if not on the pitch, and without him they wouldn't have played as well as they did, defensively or not. I think the team played for him, like they don't want to let him down. I don't see Barcelona playing the same for Messi, but whatevs Most will probably say it's only what happens on the pitch that defines a player, i.e. Gazza, Best and for that they'd be some of the best ever. Some would say it's their whole contribution to all the clubs they've played for, whether they fulfilled their potential, and what they did off the pitch for the club as well. Probably a much more narrow slice of the whole, but I sit more in that camp. So I'm happy to concede that talent wise, Ronaldo isn't on any lists at all for me, but in terms of being the greatest footballer, he's definitely near the top of my list. tldr; it's all subjective.

    Ronaldo

I've loved watching a lot of footballers over the years, but Ronaldo is always my one true love. His time at PSV, Barca and Inter (before it all went wrong) stands next to any footballer, ever. (I say that having started watching football when Maradona was a fat man waddling in a WC qualifier ) Messi has done it for longer, and I have some completely irrational disregard for Cristiano Ronaldo's achievements. I can't explain it. But the rest can go whistle after those three (again - since the nineties) I used to be firmly in the Messi camp, but I've swung completely the opposite way to CRonaldo in the past few years. To do what he does, at his age, in his position is unmatched. His CL goals record is absolutely insane. How he dragged Portugal to success in the Euros, he's pretty much carried his nation on his back whereas Messi always seems to cut a frustrated figure and can't seem to replicate what he does for Barca on the international stage. Certainly in purely measurable terms, on paper he's going to go down alongside Pele with the crazy goals per game. And, he's done it at 2 of the biggest clubs in the world. I loved the anecdote, can't recall from which Man Utd player, that he would stay late from training sessions and practice step-overs for an hour with heavy sandbags on each of his feet so he could do them much faster in a game. To do that, at 18 or 19 years old in a foreign country with the rest of the senior squad, people like Roy Keane, ripping the absolute piss out of him - absurd dedication today, let alone 15 years ago. It'll be interesting to see how he adopts to the rigidity of Juve over time as he's never had to play in a team like that before. Don't get me wrong, Messi is arguably the most gifted player of all time, but CRonaldo, like the best players in the world before him, seems to be easily adapting his game to his age and still doing the business year in, year out. Oh and to compare Shearer and Ronaldo is laughable. Shearer would be lucky to be in my top 10 of all time, let alone first (/tinhat).

  13. Full pre-season and familiar with Rafa's tactics. Wonder where we would be if we made an effort to get players in before the last few weeks of the window in the summer. Probably on another club's forum.
  14. You've spouted some shite about Ki in this thread. Sure you're the one that asked if he had even won the ball back at all in like the 60th minute when he won it back fantastically only about 3 or 4 minutes into the game. Talking shit. He also gave the ball away at least 3 times in the first 35 minutes on the rare occasions we had the ball. Can't judge him after one game, but today he was unquestionably poor. Hope he improves. I don't really care if you think that. Bore off will you nobhead Eh?
  15. Perhaps an ultra attacking line up and high tempo passing game with a 0 - 5 bumming would have made you happier. the turgid defending for 90 mins not moving out your own half is fucking great to watch as well mind eh? we went forward, we attacked, we scored !! we sat back invited pressure the whole game , guess what, they scored. yep Give Joselu that chance another 100 times and they'd all end up in the Gallowgate tbf, we had no right to score that goal.
