Gaël Bigirimana rejoins Coventry on a permanent basis
HawK replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
I think the illness was caused as a severe reaction to Alan Pardew's idiocy. -
Video games killed football for England, that and we play too many other physical games that we 'have' to be good at - Cricket, Rugby etc. If it's raining or cold outside, kids play on Playstations and Xboxes now. When I was a kid I was out on my village green every day playing football, sometimes for hours after school, even in the rain. Then I got a Nintendo. Nicer weather on the continent and a harder life for most kids from working class backgrounds limits entertainment and often football is always available. This is why some of the most deprived cities and countries produce the best footballers in my opinion - lack of other opportunities or diversions.

Krasnodar looks a bit like the San Mémes exterior

I think it's a little naive to suggest that there will be too much money to not to need to sell players, all that will happen is that the player values and wages will spike, again. Instead of paying 15m for Perez in the current market, which I think we'd agree would be a relative snip, it may become commonplace for this sort of player to be sold for £50m instead.

I think he would be afforded more game time at Chelsea than any of the other 'top' clubs, the state they're in at the moment. Ayozé's a hard worker, could do a job amongst the attacking 3 of Hazard, Willian and Oscar.

Football's up and down, opening game of WC2014 where Holland smacked Spain to pieces and now were beaten to the Euros by Wales. I don't know how things can be turned around quickly for England, but there's hope.. really small amount like, but a smidgen..

I miss out team of c***s, Bellamy, Bowyer etc.

Ivanovic just said he was fat and sluggish

I think he's one of those that we'll definitely feel it when he's gone, for all the intermittent shitness that comes with him playing anyway.

Hard to argue with this, Bournemouth has shown that Anita and Tiote just don't cut it any more (if Anita ever did). The exact positioning of Wij/Perez can move about mind. If Mbabu plays every match like his PL debut the other week he won't be here next year tho.

Honestly, who do people expect the board will replace Steve Mc with if he leaves?

Trying to figure out if it was a racist post.

Ok Perez for Thauvin is shite, unless Perez's legs have gone.
-
So to put 5 in the middle, there's arguments for and against. Who on the bench could come on at LW for Perez then? Considering out midfield is getting completely bypassed, I see the logic in trying to fill it up a bit. Don't say Gouffran lol.

Yup, McClaren must go... this decision underlines it.

Match of his life. Southall was still in goal when he was pushing 20st I believe!

All fit we need to playing to be playing something like ----Kane-Sturridge---- Sterling-Barkley-Walcott ----Milner--Wilshere---- imo.. although I've probably forgotten someone obvious.

Perez has more to his game. What we could really do with is a proper AM which is what I thought De Jong was. Seems like most regard him as a poacher good at making late runs similar to Nolan without appetite for tackling. Our Proper AM is Wijnaldum. Who should be central with a destroyer if we are going to go with this system - someone with the legs to be able to cover the width of the pitch relatively well and be able to contribute in attack. A position we shouldn't be buying cheap, one that probably needs the amount we paid for Thauvin, a 23-26 year old DCM/CM with strength, pace, and technical ability. We also then need to fix our left side to make this all work and that's signing a legit LW and LB. Sounds about right, although I would say for a CM/DM role, it's so important that it's not necessary to stick to an age ceiling of 26 yr old. Gareth Barry must be getting on, but he's still better than anything we've got in that part of the pitch. There's so much money in the game at the moment that it's daft to look at sell on potential in every single position, especially CM and CB. Aye you're right, the age bracket was my ideal scenario - but yes, any good and reliable DM from 19-32 would do for us. But obviously our powers at be have an issue with signing anyone older than 27-28. I wouldn't want us to sign anyone under 23 in that position unless an exceptional talent. It's a position for men that know an understand the game and role. If they're going to be under 23 i'd like someone that would probably see themselves as CB so has a defensive focus and discipline like a Dier Based on that, lets give Ivanovic an escape route on silly money and tell him to play in the middle and just fuck everyone up who dare go near him. I'd pay to see that.

Rooney in his prime isn't face to lace Shearer's boots even after that injury at Goodison. Prime Wayne Rooney isn't fit to lace the boots of the Shearer who played under Gullit, Bobby, Souness and Roeder? Obviously not even you are stupid enough to genuinely believe that, so I'll leave it there. Prime Wayne Rooney is 2003-2004. Since then he's been mediocre at best for England with some sporadic good games, which always come in either qualifiers, non important qualifiers or friendlies. He wouldn't be in my squad and probably wouldn't have been so since 2012. I've always said that Wayne Rooney and Stevie G are the two most overrated players ever to grace the premier league.... But saying that Wayne Rooney was unplayable for the best part of the 2009/10 season Agree with Rooney, but Steven Gerrard in patches was the real deal. Oft trotted out, but Istanbul man, vs AC Milan. Incredible.

The best thing for Newcastle United and Adam Armstrong is that he doesn't play a first team game for this club for at least the rest of this season and the following season. Finish as the L2 top scorer this season, that will be his goal. Following season, get him at a Championship club like Middlesbrough so it's not too far from home and see how he does. We've ruined a fair few young players by mishandling their development and chucking them in too early, killing their confidence. He needs to build his confidence to be able to take his chances and not always worry about shooting or passing when he comes back to compete for a starting place.

Not many teams have regularly outplayed their opponents and been relegated tbh. The point is regularly, these performances need to be week in, week out till the end of the season. We haven't regularly outplayed our opponents though. We've done it 2-3 times max. That's my point we've looked better the past few games overall than at the start of the season, it's better to see a team improving than declining, no?

I really think he's beyond caring tbh, written all over his performances. Happy to have a go when the ball's up the other end but otherwise looks extremely disinterested, not surprised.
