  1. Boris Johnson would be more effective at winning the ball back than Tiote today from what he's shown so far.
  2. Not surprising, the only player we have with a brain and positional sense.
  3. same. A season in the Championship could be the making of Mitrovic too if Rafa's at the helm.
  4. I think it's because the fans know more about 'legacy' players than the new managers do. Rafa Benitez won't have a clue where he played for Toulouse before he came here to be a winger (great job Pardew). Don't have many/any coaches in place from when he arrived to pass the information on, only Darth Vader and he's probably in Holland again right now. I'm pretty certain he will like K, maybe me using Steve Mac as a guide was a bit naïve, but he genuinely appeared to not know who most of our players were and he was managing in just the league down from us 6 months prior to joining. Rafa hadn't been in England for years, and doubt the teams he was at would have scouted Sissoko.

  6. Siem captained Ajax to the title before he joined us. Despite the fact he's made of tissue paper, he still seems like a leader on the pitch and sets an example. Then Wij captained PSV to the title the following season. How on earth this chap was a captain, based on his year here, is beyond me. Transfer fees and reputation aside, for what they both bring to the table, I still don't understand why Wij is being preferred to Siem.
  7. He loses the ball through misplaced passes less than nearly all of our other attacking players when they just have the ball at their feet.

Isn't that the best possible result for us ?
  9. Shelvey is a very good player. He's enabled by the players around him though, our movement off the ball has been atrocious for years. We've got plenty of players that like running on the ball, but have no concept whatsoever of moving off it - Sissoko, Townsend, Wijnaldum to name 3 of our 'best' players. It's no coincidence on Shelvey's debut he pinged about 5 long passes to Janmaat as he's the only player with a football brain, despite his shite defensive contribution. Our team is awash with brainless, head-down, Forrest Gumps and it's no wonder Shelvey is looking gash when faced with trying to pick a pass in our team.
  10. Considering Blackburn are now over £100m in debt I'd rather not be them to be honest.
  11. The Dutch Nolan is not a patch on the real deal. How he's keeping SDJ out of the starting lineup I haven't a clue.
  12. Capped, capped, wanted by Woy and capped Our managers sure know how to pick an England squad

  14. Is this a serious post? Is this what we've come to, as a team placed 19th in the table in April, party due to the same guy who never should've been signed as the sole striker to do exactly the opposite of what you're describing? I'm sure we'll all be happy he's getting into positions, shooting at the keeper, etc., when we head to the Championship and he leaves to some other club. Of course it's serious You rather a striker that shoots on target or off target. Can't be abusing him now can we I like the kid, have a soft spot for him, but can't hit a f***ing barndoor half the time, while other times he looks very promising. Wrong timing, wrong signing. Bad for him, and us.

  16. Can't compare the two but there's no doubt that Krul has stagnated badly in the past 2-3 years.
  17. Welcome to the forum! Well I'd rather he be shooting at the keeper than wide, getting shots on target is the first step, so that's promising.

  19. Well I'm still searching for the abuse I'm meant to be redirecting.
  20. Where's the abuse? He's not ready to lead the line for a relegation-candidate club. The absolute opposite of what we need. We need experience and a proven track record, and Defoe was that player. And we won't get that player now will we? so get behind the lads that we do have especially this one who actually gives a f*** to the fans and the club. Wow what a crapshoot of a post Assuming a bit much are we? Despite your assertions, I want Mitrovic to do well for us. The fact is, he can't at this moment in time, because he's too raw. He's been bullied off the ball by every centre back in the league, even Shola had more presence than Mitro does for a supposed imposing target man. He can't hold the ball up because his first touch is, again to compare with Shola, as abysmal as his is. In fact the only thing I can see different between Mitro and Shola is the desire to win, and for this I like the player. I don't even care if he doesn't hit double figures this season as long as he can effectively hold the ball up and lay it off to another player. As for 'getting behind the player because he gives a f***', I suppose you're one of the people who were disappointed when we appointed Rafa Benitez and didn't bring back John Carver. Desire isn't everything, it's certainly a factor in performance, but desire alone won't win you games. Who the f*** is one of those people besides some dude made of straw? Plenty of examples on Facebook of those inclined Not any I can recall on here mind.
