  1. What's the largest turnover ever made by a club in a transfer window? Or a January window? Read several pundits state that you cannot replace more than 3-4 players at a time. But given the complete lack of cohension under Bruce, I'm not sure that really applies in our case. I'd expect Howe to change that, but still... I've also been thinking about that insane summer Chelsea had in 2003 when they brought in Crespo, Makelele, Duff, Veron, Cole, Mutu (remember that f*cker), some others. Can't remember how many of those went straight into their starting 11. And they were already top four.
  2. Is there an up-to-date points per expenditure analysis out there? Saw one a few seasons back that made a strong argument for Klopp and Pochettino, I think. Got to think that OGS is going to come out bottom or near bottom of any list based on those numbers.
  3. No Fat Sam, Warnock, or Bruce in sight. Is our children learning?
  4. I agree with the list generally --- identifying problem areas. Jan ---- 3-4 starters in the midfield and back line. Meaning that Clark, Krafte, Ritchie, and Shelvey won't be starting. Summer ------- Chelsea (2003-4)-style transfer window. Replace everything except ASM and Dubravka. I'd keep Wilson, Longstaff, and few others that prove useful. At first blush, I think the players you've kept are right. I love Wilson, but given his injury history, we shouldn't be relying on him next year.
  5. Layng our problems at the feet of Almirón FFS. So many more pressing issues.
  6. Howe has a reputation for improving players . Let's see what happens. I am certainly more confident about coming good than most of the rest the squad.
  7. We'll be OK. I wasn't at all impressed with either Brighton or Palace. Any team worth their salt should us the shreads in our current state. A lot of pundits are prattling on about how Howe's sides haven't been great defensively. We'll be OK if Howe can the team to actually threaten the opponents goal. Sitting back and inviting pressure for 90 minutes has got to stop.
  8. Chelsea are pretty good </understatement>
  9. Howe diddles and Everton get hammered tomorrow. It's fate. All is fate.
  10. Froggy, sometimes you make me think that I really don't hate Man United that much ( But I immediately snap out of it}
  11. No, people are just nervous.
  12. Jones isn't the reason. They wouldn't hold up this over him. (If they are holding things up on account of him, we're in trouble)
  13. Transfermarkt says 22M. But https://www.ftm.eu/articles/transfermarkt-volunteers-european-football Got to think that a lot of clubs will be looking to rinse us, especially if NUFC are still in relegation zone-- which seems likely.
  14. It'll go the way of the Fulham-Chelsea derby.
  15. Real Sociedad, Sunderland. Took him a while ...
  16. The first person to follow Steve Bruce, on the other hand ...
