  1. Would you sacrifice European football though? Depending on the wider picture, if we guarenteed to play some good teams/get far in the Waffa then yes providing they stayed up to be beat next season, if not no I'd prefer for us not to get beat by them. Eh? He means he'll only answer the question if you use your hypothetical crystal ball to predict the future. aye thats the one.

Eh? Id accept getting beat if in the long it could be guarenteed we'd have a good Waffa cup run. Id accept getting beat if they stayed up so the defeats could be avenged. If the above did not happen I'd prefer to win and not qualify for Europe.

  4. Europe is more important in the grand scheme of things but nowt hurts like getting beat of that lot. Don't think i could stand losing to them at SJP.
  5. I'm shitting me pants about this one to be honest. First one in a few year i'm not confident of not getting beat.
  6. terrible player. The Appleby brothers gave shite a whole new meaning n all.
  7. Watching it in The Original Oak in Leeds me thinks.
  8. Suffered as much as anyone from the European ban on English clubs imo. god love them scousers.
  9. Pretty much all of the players bought to save us in 91/92 and get up in 92/93 to be vague about it with Gavin Peacock at the top of that list.
  10. Henk Ten Cate is at Chelsea under Avram Grant, had a so so spell at Ajax in between where he came second last season and crashed out of Europe twice this season (CL and Waffa)
  11. Disgusting tackle, Brown is a lucky lad not to have a career ending injury.
  12. Temuri Ketsbaia thats him got to be a good shout due to the fact we got him for nothing he did ok for us and we sold him on for nearly a million and how often do we ever sell players on for a profit would've made his wages the time he was here with that goal in Zagreb n all. Bellamy i thought offered value for money Acuna never the team down, only cost a mil or so.
  13. Clive Tyldesley loves it as tonight he was a legitimate reason to mention Istanbul. Despise Clive Tyldseley, horrendous commentator.
  14. Drogba should've scored there. one on one hit the keeper.
  15. Then sulked when we wouldn't let him move to Barca, the cunt. Spurs are way better than Barca man!
  16. I don't disagree with you i just don't think it will be the cricket score as predicted.
  17. Rosenborg won 2-0 in the reverse game.
  18. A lot of the ones mentioned i diasgree with as i never expected us to win (cup finals, man U match). AZ match last season was particularly atrocious. Sporting away. Sheff Utd, Man City and Charlton at home last season - arguably the 3 worst games i've had the displeasure of attending. the two 1-2's v mackems worst definately Partizan at home, to win 1-0 in Belgrade and then to lose 0-1 at SJP to a vastly inferior Partizan team was terrible. Missed out on seeing the galacticos of Real Madrid if we'd got through as they would've been in our group.

  20. Much less expensive than Japan - same price or cheaper to get there and a lot cheaper once you're there. And do you reckon Ukraine v Togo will definitely sell out in the UK at £40 a ticket. Euro '96 suggests otherwise. sell out wise i agree, a point i raised earlier. I didn't agree with WC in Japan/Korea either as it again isolates the majority of teams supporters who wish to go or indeed even watch it on tele with most games kicking off at ridiculous o'clock. Plus, i know this will sound rich as England are unlikely to qualify to Euro '08, but it is again giving the host nation a place that they would not necessarily gain if they had to qualify particularly as Australia are now in AFC & the general consensus is that tournaments need a host that is going to do well in order to keep the bandwagon going see Germany 06 and Korea in 02. And Australia is such an arse to get to their own national team doesn't even play all their games there with many being held at Loftus Road.
  21. Australia although in theory a good idea (stadia, infrastructure, chance to profile the game there) would be horrendous for all fans of teams that weren't Australia. The cost and effort for fans of all other teams would be massive not to mention the teams of which half will be travelling from Europe plus will the games sell out? Do people in Australia want to watch Ukraine v Togo? I very much doubt so. Plus with the stadiums being ovals (some will be) this is likely to detract from the atmosphere at grounds.

  23. Loathe Man United though I do - and I really do - I have to say their away support is the best in the country imho. They also have a far wider range of songs than anyone else. And it genuinely makes the pit of my stomach turn to pay those wankers any compliment. fully agree Brummie, their range of songs is something to applaud.
