Wouldnt be suprised if people in the UK started supporting teams in the Euro league that arnt British, of course they will tell you they were die hard fans before the Euro League started. Slightly off topic but there is a team from Vladivostok in the Russian Premier League (or whatever its called) these days, imagine drawing them in the Waffa Cup. Be a 20hr flight there and back or something horrendous.

Some ultra groups are associated with specific political factions, which results in rivalries and alliances based on political allegiances. Some extremist groups distribute propaganda to members of ultra groups, to various degrees of success. Some ultra groups reject political symbols and forbid their members to display them within the context of the group. Lazio's Irriducibili, Roma's Boys Roma and TDR, Paris Saint Germain's Boulogne Boys, Real Madrids Ultras Sur, Dinamo Zagreb's Bad Blue Boys are known for displaying Celtic crosses and Swastikas. In Spain, the term ultra is understood primarily as ultraderechista (far rightist), and some Spanish ultra groups use Nazi symbols such as the runic SS logo. However, other ultra groups, such as Livornos Brigate Autonome Livornesi,Carrarese, A.C. Arezzo's Fossa, Pisa Calcio's Ultras, Olympique de Marseilles Curva-Massilia, Celtic's Green Brigade and Hapoel Tel-Aviv's Ultras Hapoel are known for displaying flags with red stars, hammer and sickles, the anarchy symbol or images of Che Guevara. Fans of Ajax Amsterdam often display the Star of David and Israeli flags, and regularly chant "Joden! Joden!" (Dutch for "Jews! Jews!"), in reference to the club's Jewish roots. In Turkey, Beşiktaş JK's ultra group Çarşı has an A in its logo that is similar to the anarchy symbol. Off Wikipedia.

I always thought it to be because they love to stick the oar in to the authorities as they all have extreme political views one way or another and the Ultras use the football as an excuse to do this. For example Lazio are far right and i think Atalanta who are big leftie support.

The area round St.Andrews is bad enough on a nice day.

22 for me not sure about the 400miles thing though but i counted it anyway.

Apparently he has been ill all week but was named in the squad originally in case he recovered enough to play and because our back up is one F Ameobi! If he gets another brace again, i for one will be jumping for joy regardless that he is shite.

Stange that my memory of that is Shearer running towards the Rovers fans with a smile as big as the mouth of the Tyne on his face arm held aloft.

Fantastic, would be awesome to get a shot of him singing 'He wanks his dog Keano' complete with hand gesture.
-
this is my fear too. We desperately need to score early to quieten the crowd and their players confidence.

Aye. Going to the Original Oak up Headingly way i think

If he has any sense he won't otherwise family (who i believe still live in Newcastle) are going to get some serious abuse i'd imagine.

Sups on buckets behind the bike sheds i heard with Terry Mac.

Well played a very depleted Bolton Wanderers, superb result.
-
Davies should've made it 2-0 there.
-
Cos' it's probably the biggest match they've ever played and will ever play for sometime. this. Just like given the chance to watch NUFC in the Allianz v. Bayern we would take many a thousand more than we'd take say to Belgium which is closer/easier to get to.
-
Anyone else watching it in a mixed atmosphere? (aside from those going to the game) Not overly keen on doing this but i will be doing.
-
£1m n all, shocker of a player. He played a fair few times n all.
-
