Relate this to what's been said about Sammy? Absolute bollocks. He barely even tried to bring the ball past people yesterday and 95% of the time either went no where ran into someone, dribbled it out of play or something equally s****... Also if you think it's a good idea to have a roamer- and by that I guess you mean gouffran you need your head checking The bits in bold simply aren't true. If people cant develop an argument that Sammy is crap without making things up then they should really give up trying. Fair enough, he def tried to beat his man but he repeatedly did the same thing imo. My problem with him is he's a poor decision maker, and seems to lack awareness Can't argue with that. Its just that occasionally he actually gets it right. I like the kid a lot and hope he develops into something more cogent as a player, but as of now he seems like a one-trick pony where he does the same little nudge of the ball with his left foot and tries to get past the fullback, but he's simply too slow to beat him and has no other tricks up his sleeve. By the time he's about to cross, the fullback has casually sauntered up to block it, which results in one of our epic, devastating corners.

From BBC: Newcastle v Sunderland (13:30 GMT) Posted at 13:10 Jack Colback is one of five local lads in the Newcastle starting line-up today, alongside Paul Dummett, Steven Taylor, Shola Ameobi and Jak Alnwick. After failing to beat Sunderland in their last five league meetings with a side with a French accent, Alan Pardew has gone for a local twang.
-
Anyone even contemplating the idea of Colback being 'better' or 'more effective' than Anita needs to ask themselves why they watch football in the first place. Anita is not even in the same league, he's a cultured, technically gifted, intelligent midfielder who, surprise, surprise, lacks 'graft' in the middle, was misused and eventually dropped for one of Pardew's prodigal sons who gave him a boner when he shushed him in the last derby.

Is it the Friday of freaky opinions? Second ridiculous post I've read today.
-
While that's fair, why not get ahead of the game and offer the lad a proper contract to show him he's wanted and valued here? Pards threw him on limping and half-dead to save his fucking job, maybe he should return the favour.
-
Yeah let's offer a kid, who is nothing but regularly unfit potential right now, £20K a week. He's probably on maybe a grand a week or so, he's got 18 months (plus a years option) to run, a) I don't blame him for knocking it back, b) I don't blame the club for the offer, which is likely a substantial rise for him, surprised they even made any offer given his remaining deal length anyway. Non story 5 appearances. 2 goals and one assist. Also "regularly unfit"? He was patently rushed back from injury to put us through in the cup, which he did. He's a senior team member now clearly. Rangers pack. Nothing post man. Yeah, who and what the heck is Rangers Pack? Welcome.

Alnwick has been backed by his team-mates ahead of the derby and he will also have the home crowd behind him. His Toon colleague Massadio Haidara said: “Everybody is looking after Jak. “He is young and has only played three games in the first team, so you cannot say something to him because he is young and he will learn from this. “He is a good player for the future. “The step he has made from the under-21s is big and we need to help him if he is to progress.” ------ Sadio sounds like a good lad. Fucking weirdo.

The shadow of Ronaldo looms large over this thread. Fuck it. The kid's nowhere near ready for first team football and at this showing, won't ever be. There have been younger keepers who've shown more promise. I wish him best of luck one day, and hope he makes it, but right now, like his shoulder, his confidence looks shattered.
-
Who are the players who supposedly put a shift in this 4-0 hammering? Gouffran, Colback... who else?
-
Have him switch places in the squad with Riviere?
-
He's probably at least 12 years off his goalkeeping prime, man. Of course he's not fucking good enough by a long shot. Krul was boss at his age.

This was playing on a loop in the dressing room on Pardew's boombox: The minutes stated: “The board outlined research into Premier League clubs in relation to domestic cup competitions in the last five years, with Swansea City the only club outside the traditional top six to win a domestic cup and not be relegated in the same season (Birmingham and Wigan Athletic were both relegated). “Independent research into the cost of relegation over the past ten years showed there is a 50% chance of not gaining promotion back to the top flight and a 30% chance of being relegated to League One or further. In addition, if clubs do return to the Premier League, it takes four years on average.”

How long until some of our newer buys kick off with Pards about his negative tactics?
-
This generation's Andreas Anderssen? Or JDT? At least JDT tried.
-
Who was he talking to? Gary Cahill in the crowd today?
-
He can't dive either. We seem to have no real backup keepers
-
Can you throw Fred in there as well, Felipao? We should've guessed that's Pardew's dream strikeforce.

Not sure if it's been posted: http://www.themag.co.uk/the-mag-articles/reports-brazil-newcastle-transfer-move-jo-surely-wide-mark/ Our Brazilian contingent on here should be excited.

It seems to have stuck. A couple of my friends are now saying how the fault lies 100% with HBA as "Bruce is an awesome manager..."
-
Would've loved to see him play off the shoulder of the lumbering, slow Mertesacker. My Arsenal supporting friend I was watching the game with laughed each time Cisse attempted to control the ball after making a yard of space behind the CB. I joined in. Cisse's movement is amazing but he can't fucking trap the ball.
-
So much wrong with this post.
-
Fair point. Looked lost or overwhelmed and doesn't have a command of his area (the ball he should've come out for which led to a shot from them comes to mind), but all in all I guess "promising" would be one word to describe him. Over Elliot any day.
-
Fell out with ISIS as well, then? What a guy.

Yeah, I really think this has been the key change tbh. Phenomenal difference he's made in there. Just goes to show how the slightest thing can impact the whole team either way. How long have people been clamouring for him to play inside? It's just crazy. I have no doubt if Gouffran played upfront, we'd all appreciate him much more right now. Very frustrating stuff. Good call. Would be interesting to one day see Gouff playing up front with Ayoze and/or Cisse.
