Yep. So far his control and passing are the things that have let him down at important times, so I wonder how that would translate in the middle of the park. He HAS worked his socks off though and he presses the opposition well at times, creating space for others with his movement. On the periscope feed I was watching, a pixelated Gayle controlled a ball launched high into the sky in his direction deftly enough to pass it to a teammate all in one motion, garnering cheers from the crowd. So I'm not sure how bad his all round game is.

And I've been involved in discourses between people who ascribe to the many different off shoots of feminism, by talking to actual women both online and in person. We agree and disagree about many things, but it's always the uneducated who are so quick to shut down debate. One thing every feminist agrees on is the constant need for improvement and equality of gender roles (not just female, this goes back to the 1970s feminist literature), both in the west and across the globe. I just define rape culture very differently. You know, like how 2 months ago a female high court judge in india ruled that marital rape is not rape because consent was given at the wedding. Fair questions, but Mitro hasn't done enough in front of goal to justify the hefty price tag or compare his record to Gayle's (so far). We all know he has bags of potential, is young, new to (now two) foreign leagues, etc. And we know he brings a different aspect to our game. All his positive and negative attributes have been discussed to death here. If he were to leave, it won't be a great loss. I hope he stays and carves a place out for himself, but that's all upto Rafa.

Wasn't really sustained chanting for him. He was warming up regularly on the sidelines and he was appreciating the support from the crowd for the team. Obviously his celebrations with Gayle's goals got him a good reception as well as he was only sub to join in really. His passion for the club on and off the pitch definitely serves him well with the fans as well as arriving with a big reputation for being a top prospect. As well as getting a lot of love from fans, you've still got a large section that don't like him at all, it's quite split i reckon. That explains it. If he was engaging with the crowd and warming up and joining in the celebrations, it makes sense the crowd would reciprocate. On the Periscope feed from the away stand, there was a patch of sustained chanting of his name. Can someone tell me why our fans are so desperate to see him play? Have we done this for any other players since HBA, who actually deserved chanting to be put onto the field?

I won't be happy until he's hounded out of football, but for now, I'm okay to not even have to think about him for now. But I want his team to go down as much as I do Sunderland.

I think the saddest thing about not being in the PL is not being able to watch / stream our games every Saturday. The initial fun of putting Mick Lowes's mouth upto my ear as I lie in bed is wearing thin, and those Periscope streams are horrendous. I miss watching the team, and wish I lived in the area so I could attend.
