Spot on imo. Top bloke, just happens to not be good enough. Doesn't stop him trying his hardest and giving everything he can, which makes him the legend he is. Wigan is about his level and I've certainly got stronger feelings for him than I have our other player who's recently moved to the same club. All the best Panic Signing.

Has Maldini ever left Italy?
-
Took 50,000 and had 30,000 tickets? Is that so different from taking 40,000 and having 17,000? I'm sure I heard a radio report claim Celtic took 100,000 to their UEFA cup final. What was their allocation I wonder?
-
What could this possibly have to do with Roeder?!
-
Good shout. Did well when he played in the premiership before as well. How much do you reckon he would cost?
-
They're hardly at the biggest clubs now (Hamburg and Bremen iirc) and I don't think either of them set their respective club back too much. A decent bid might test their resolve and we'd most likely be paying them more than they're getting in Germany - don't reckon it's completely unfaesible. Just suggestions mind, I've only seen them 4 or 5 times each.
-
Van der Vaart or Diego might do nicely from what I've seen of them.

I'm certain ours is correct but the Spuds one must be miles off. I know they don't have Owen on the books which drives ours up by £5m a season, but they do have about 3 times as many players as us, all on healthy wages and the like of King, Berbatov & Lennon will rival any of our top earners bar EMO. I think its about right tbh. Our highest earner is Keane on 40 k. Players like Berbatov and Lennon are on 22k and 20 k a week respectivly. total bollocks. why you getting worked up for? it isnt bollock mate so calm down. Were known for our extremely tight wage structure. In reality it'll be a lot higher than that though, with bonuses. On the back of a half decent season like the one just gone (decent league position, cup run, lots of goals scored etc.) there will have been a lot more paid out in wages, several million I would imagine.
-
I'd still snap their hand off, but then even in the current market I'd take £1m for him. He's hopeless. Sooner he's gone the better. I don't think snapping their hands off is the most sensible way to go about it when there's a decent chance we could get a bit more money. It seems there are a lot of people out there who rate Parker highly, it's worth seeing just what we can get.

In terms of footballing ability, I voted Barton. Don't really want any of them at the club though.

I bet HTL's cracked open his first smile of the year! How does it feel mate?

http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8751_2157929,00.html You're not some Johnny-come-lately, glory-hunting bandwagon jumper, are you? You're a real fan. Possibly the ONLY real fan. Possibly even The One True Football Fan...Or are you? Cast an eye over our handy checklist and find out... 1. Do you tell everyone you've been to every match, home and away, man and boy, good times and bad, since a time that was, strictly speaking, ever so slightly before you were born? 2. Are you still somehow always the one nearest the camera in the pub, over-reacting more than anyone else when the BBC is there doing live 'mood pieces' for the big game? 3. Do you snarl abuse at small children playing football in the street if they're clad in a replica shirt of one of the Big Four, and not the local team they're legally obliged to support? 4. Do you wear a replica shirt from a time (1987 Anglo-Italian Cup) that's more significant than everyone else's replica shirts? 5. Do you also make a point of having a name on the back that some people don't even recognise (largely because the bloke only turned up for one training session before his cruciate ligament exploded in a farming accident)? 6. Did you get through the funeral of your closest relative without so much as a change of expression, but burst into tears and wept like a lost child, snot streaming down your face, when you lost on penalties in the last 32 of the Rumbelows Cup? 7. Are you always the first to your feet when it's time to stand up to show you hate whoever...even before you know who you're claiming to hate. 8. And do you turn and glare at everyone around you who doesn't follow suit? 9. Would a group of fun-loving Norwegians who've flown hundreds of miles to watch your League Two opponents provoke you to foul-mouthed fury by having the nerve to celebrate when their team scores? 10. Do you like to stand up on your own, arms spread wide to 'offer out' the opposition ultras, secure in the knowledge that there's a pitch, several hundred stewards and rather a lot of policemen between them and you? 11. Is it physically impossible for you to clap with your hands below head height? 12.. If you hear someone celebrate a goal against your lot and they're in the top tier at your end, do you spend the rest of the match standing with your back to the action, staring belligerently up in their direction instead of watching the match? 13.. Do you abuse anyone who leaves the ground before the final whistle, waiting until the very end of the match to exchange teary-eyed solemn applause, salutes and badge-kissing with your team, then elbow your way savagely past women, children and the elderly in order to get out of the stadium first? 14.. You know, like, other fans of your club? You know how much they like your team? Do they still not really f***ing love them, like you do?

It's a fairly shit list, but the Fink tank is an experiment - it doesn't claim to be definitive or even right, and is an example (as it's crerators would no doubt confirm) of how difficult it is to accurately map statistics to sport. Isn't it just run by a maths geek who loves football? Sort of a hobby that found its way into the paper? Their match predictions are quite good as well, I'm pretty sure they made a fair amount of money by backing their system when the bookies strongly disagreed (it gives a % chance of home win away win and draw). It's a fairly pointless exercise in the main, but it's quite an enjoyable read, imo.

Yeah. It's about half an hour drive, mind!

Darren Moore looked absolute shit last time around in the prem when he was at Brom I thought
-
Not the best I've ever seen, but I was very excited about Emre after his performance at home to depor in the intertoto. Pretty sure it was his debut.
-
We still need structures in place regardless of whether we've got 10s of millions to waste.
-
You've got to be pleased about this - if there's one thing that unjustly puts a player's value up it's being in the England squad!
-
He'd be worth that imo. It'd also mean we had the option of playing Solano in midfield if we wanted to, which would give us something different there. I'm not sure I'd stretch to much over the £2m bracket though.
-
What's happened to the transfer window then? I thought it didn't open again until June the 1st?
-
That's purely my assumation from the named players btw. Ah right OK. Lennon could be down the middle then... Still. Good to see Barry get a game. More likely Lennon on the left and Barry in the middle, imo.
-
Agreed. No surprises to see it winning so easily.

Why?
