  1. I don't think KK can afford to "walk away".
  2. Load of overwritten bollocks as usual. Let's face it, no one on here knows exactly how our new system works, nor what Keegan's precise role within in might happen to be.
  3. My brother was once flying out of Manchester airport and ended up in some first-class lounge at the same time as Bobby Charlton and a bunch of then (it was a while ago) Man U players. By my brother's account, they were all ribbing Charlton about the idea that he was a Geordie. "Do you hate mackems, then?" Gary Pallister kept asking. "No, I don't hate mackems," Charlton replied.
  4. Cairo? Marseille? What a daft load of tripe. And Rio Ferdinand isn't from East London. He's from Peckham -- Millwall cachment area, Charlton at a stretch.
  5. There was also Shepherd's attempt to buy Ronaldinho.
  6. It's a "trophy player" when a disproportionate amount of the budget is blown on one star, shirt-selling signing.
  7. Sensible story from Caulkin.
  8. aye the African kids are better off than British kids tbf My problem is just that the money is going out of the country. Why should we develop Africaqn football in deprived areas? We have deprived areas in our own country where the money would be better spent. What a load of bollocks. Try reading what the project actually is as well. Also, check out Raconteur's post, you reckon there's anywhere in our country where the money could be better spent? I'd love to know. I'm not comparing the problems of our country and theirs, obviously they are in a far worse situation. I just feel (and before you rant on again it's an opinion, not law i'm entitled to one) the money should be spent in our country. Look after yourself first, when all of our problems are solved then distribute money. It's his money. Why should he have to spend it in "our country"? Is it OK for people to buy German cars or go on holiday to Thailand?
  9. Good on him. It sounds like an excellent project. Hope it doesn't turn out to be too ambitious for him to handle. He's obviously fallen in love with the place and the people, though, and realises it's one hell of a commitment he's making.
  10. So come on Reading, Portsmouth, Man U and Bolton. There's still a chance to overtake Spurs, and maybe even West Ham, while the smogs could still get relegated.
  11. I don't remember that Ashley quote either. Link?
  12. Normally I might have some sympathy for the underdog, combined with my antipathy towards other Premiership teams. In this case, however, I hope Portsmouth kicks Cardiff's arse.
  13. I want to see Frank Lampard cry again.
  14. Glad Liverpool aren't in it. Now I want Man U to beat Chelsea, though I won't be bothered if it's the other way around. The upside of Chelsea winning is that they get stuck with Grant as manager.
  15. The heath of the game would be better served by measures to stop all the wealth, glory and talent concentrating at a handful of clubs. A return to the old European Cup format would make more sense than some daft exclusionary thing for "foreigners".
  16. It'd mean even more of a concentration of the best English players at the richest clubs, with maybe a few of the better foreigners released for the not-quite-so-rich ones. For Irish players it would be bad news.

  18. jesus wept. You'd be funnier if you were funny.
  19. Only eejits and racists complain about "political correctness".
