  1. Well it doesn't look like Keegan has been flooded with offers since he left us. I suspect clubs view him as not worth the risk. We have no clue which jobs he's been offered. Perhaps he's saving himself for the Man U job. Or maybe the Leeds United job. Or the Sheffield Wednesday job. It's in that kind of situation that he is at his best -- give sleeping giant kick up arse and get them promoted. You need money, though. Either to buy him loads of players or to pay him off when he doesn't get his own way.
  2. He lived in Spain for longer than he lived in Hamburg but still needed an interpreter to talk to Tino.

  5. Ghostface Killah would disagree Like I give a fuck.
  6. What makes me chuckle is the pompous, denunciatory tone adopted by the Keegan-can-do-no-wrong brigade. "Disgraceful", "appalling", "frankly disgusting" etc. It's like reading the letters page of the Daily Telegraph. Brilliant!
  7. Hamburg fans think of him as theirs, much as we do.
  8. I wonder if he's watched any football in the last couple of years.

  12. Interesting reading but irritating format.

  14. Abramovich seems to have a similar company-owning-company-owning-club structure for Chelsea (and similarly is keeping his investment classed as a repayable loan). Reading the article which explains this (link below) it seemed to me this was maybe done so that the club could carry that debt while also complying with UEFA rules re borrowing. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/may/19/roman-abramovich-chelsea-loan-debt
  15. That is true. Manuel's character looks more Mexican than Spanish to a Spanish audience. To be honest the character's pretty racist but I love him all the same Yeah, but he's also a vehicle for satirising the racism of Fawlty and the other characters. Fawlty Towers is basically a critique of English attitudes -- snobbery, racism, hypocrisy, fear of being found out.
  16. Actually, I thought that in the Spanish version of Fawlty Towers Manuel was, in fact, a Mexican.
  17. I don't think they put any of their own money in. It was a leveraged buy-out.
  18. Bollocks. Sir Bobby won the Cup-Winners' Cup with Barcelona just 13 years ago. GLENN ROEDER INTERTOTO CUP CHAMPION

  21. That would be a break-even situation, wouldn't it? If the target is to reach a break-even situation in five years time, I think Ashley will inject money before that. No, the one thing the statement makes clear is that there are no plans for Ashley to lend the club any more money. Where does it say that, then? If we're not expecting to break even for five years, then something's going to have to carry on making up the shortfall?
