When he was here, Sibierski.

I don't think it means that there will be no spend on players. I think it means that there will be no new money being put in specifically to fund player purchases. The word "basis", however, implies that the squad as it stands will be augmented, presumably paid for out of whatever can be freed up from income generated. Was anyone expecting a big spending spree anyway? I wasn't. Fuck knows why they can't produce a better statement, free of such ambiguities. As a professional in the field of corporate communications, it pains me to see them put out such crap.

Benny Benitez: Parky 6 Benny 2 (Benitez watch.). Inter sack the waiter.

Germany v Serbia, it's probably the winner of this group that will play us in the last-16 (assuming we win our group). Yeah, good point. And if we don't win our group it'll probably be the other one. I'll certainly be watching all the German games anyway.

That was also France being crap tbh.

Yeah, they could be good games. There'll be loads of good games. But somehow Ivory Coast v Portugal doesn't merit me clearing space for it weeks in advance. Likewise, say, France-Mexico or Argentina-Nigeria.

Just been looking through the group schedules for particularly tasty don't-miss matches to mark in my calendar, and actually there aren't very many at all. In fact, apart from the England games, the only one I ended up marking was Portugal-Brazil. This is the problem with seeding, I guess. Anyone spot any other potentially great games or interesting sub-plots? http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/index.html

Hats off to that collection of Berbashops. Brilliant!

That's often the way in these tournaments. Everyone's scared to make a mistake. It's why fearless youngsters with a bit of flair (Gazza in 1990, Rooney in 2004 before he got injured) can make their mark.

Closing the stable door before the horse bolts I think. Unsurprisingly poor attempt again there. They've been relegated with a fraction of the debt we had when we went down (and still have). You made out like their debt was nothing compaed to ours, i merely joked at the daft way you said it, hardly the same ffs Reminded me of when he was going on about our "regular qualification" for the Champions League. By 'he' I assume you mean NE5? No, by "he" I meant you. I've seached on my user name for "champions league" but I can't find where I said it. link? Now who's being Polly Pedant?

I actually like the fact that everyone gets into it.

We'll see. He's kept his word on that one so far. I'm certainly not wetting the bed with worry that he'll decide to bankrupt a major asset in order to move money from one pocket into another.
-
I don't think he'll take anything out next season, I don't think he'll put anything in either. I think he'll put in his annual £20 million.
-
Well, at least you can admit you don't understand it... unlike, say, malandro.

Leicester is a shithole and Forest are scabs. Plus I think it should be someone who hasn't been in the Premier League before, but I hate Cardiff, so that leaves Blackpool.

Aye, he did a canny job with Finland, very nearly got them to the Euro's And it would pain me to see him do well with the scousers.
-
Good job we told them all they were shit.
-
I'd definitely rather have him as England manager than at Liverpool.

i'd asked that before, yonks ago. it doesn't get as cold but they wee saying it got as low as 10degrees C during the tournament last year. It's certainly nowhere warm enough that anyone will need to prepare for the heat.

It'll be winter in South Africa.
