If we can be our usual selves in possession then I’m confident. Thought we were very sloppy against Wham and lost the ball countless times, even under no pressure. Thank god we were clinical.

I have been saying Ugarte most of the time but I would be equally happy with Kone. Assuming that we also bring in an attacking midfielder then for me I might change my mind depending on what kind of AMC we bring in. Kone is more of a dynamic box to box kind of midfielder while Ugarte probably is more laid towards being a proper DM with a perfect skill set too. For example, say that we bring in an attacking midfielder in the mould of Maddison or Cherki to name two, then I think I would prefer Ugarte. Meanwhile if we bring in an attacking one that is slightly more dynamic and offers slightly better defensive ability and legs then I would probably prefer Kone. It totally depends on how Howe (not barking) sees us going forward. With Willock already here then maybe Howe wants a different kind of attacking midfielder more in the mould of a proper creative one. This would give us options depending on the choice of tactics and opposition. Do we need more legs for better transitions and defensive ability against teams that don’t sit deep or do we need more of a “magician” that can unlock teams that sit deep against us. The above depending on choice would almost make us alternate between 433 and 4231 on paper. It obviously isn’t as fixed as that but I think you get the point. Will be interesting to see which path we go. Therefore I’m not too bothered if it’s a “6” or a dynamic “8” we go for. Depends on the balance and who that third amc/10 is imo. Also with Isak here then maybe we don’t want a AMC more in the mould of being a #10 because if Isaksson style of play and him floating around.

Speaking of Ugarte, he is very very good when it comes to the high press too. He often wins the ball high up the pitch and that is a perfect match for us. Not only that, but he’s also good when it comes to press resistance and has good technical ability to come out of tight spaces. Has good ball carrying ability too so he wouldn’t be one that just sits deep all the time and gives the ball to the one closest to him.

Half the price and will be as good if not better than Rice under the right management. Better under pressure and in tighter spaces. A bit of a rash tackler but he is a machine that just keeps going and going.

Aye. Same with Bruno. Their technical ability combined with proper footballing intelligence sets them apart. Trippier too I think.

Kone/Ugarte and Cherki please. Lazy defensively though so not sure if he would fit in.

You can see what a massive difference it makes having players with top top technical quality and ability like Isak and Bruno. To get to the next level and compete at the top we need players like these with ridiculous technical ability on top of their other strengths. It doesn’t mean that we can’t find or buy slightly cheaper players. But McTommy isn’t the answer. Technical ability, can’t stress it enough in todays football.

He uses one Brazilian word quite often that sounds similar. Like a good thing. Could mean something like baller or that you’re great. Not sure of the meaning for how it spells. Something similar to cracquet. Don’t remember He says it often to other players, so does other South American ones to him

80-100m? Would rather sign Kone and Hojlund/similar from Atalanta if possible.

For sure mate, just added my thoughts. Would be nice with one that can offer things going forward, whether that is ball carrying ability/dribbling or progressive passing.

Or preferably one that can do things going forward as well as defensively. Would make us less predictable and give us much better tactical versatilty. Both before a game as well as swapping roles during a game if needed. As in a strong dynamic box to box midfielder that has good technical and tactical ability

Ugarte and Kone are two players i like (to name two). We don't want a DM that is too one dimensional and dosen't offer anything but protection defensively. Rice would be nice but way too expensive as we can get 2 very good players for the same price that he would cost. Physical and dynamic players with technical and tactical ability. For example Kone is more of a CM who is good in both directions.
