    NUFC Transfer Rumours

We can't force clubs to take our players and pay them daft wages. I don't know how Mitchell can get the blame for that since he's barely been here two months.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Precisely why Mitchell has been brought in, so we can catch the Olises and Tosins before they are out of our league.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

If he was responsible for bringing them in I might be able to agree with that.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

If nothing else comes from this window other than Howe doing his job coaching and Mitchell bringing in future players unhindered, I'll count it as a win.

    Marc Guehi

You would like to think he would prefer more options since it's his fucking job to provide them.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

There were rumours he wanted more say in transfer dealings and didn't jibe with Howe. At this time the Mitchell/Howe combo doesn't seem to be producing much either.
  7. That's precisely why he's been brought in. His forte is signing players before they reach peak value, I would like to think in the next couple of windows we'll be focusing less on break the bank superstar signings like Guehi. We certainly don't want to see a repeat of what's happened this summer.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I think it's unreasonable to expect top 6 when we have a weaker squad than the one which finished 7th. Obviously we'll make all the right noises about wanting to be no 1, but reality right now is singing a different tune.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I think most of us assumed the money raised for selling Minteh and Anderson would be added to the pot to bring in at least two big signings. That looks like a pipe dream now.

    Marc Guehi

I think those irons have probably been taken off the fire and set aside to cool until the winter in all likelihood.
  11. Mitchell's only been here barely a couple of months. I would think we'll have a better idea how he works over the next couple of transfer windows, right now we are probably chasing targets already identified before he landed.

Can't disagree on that. We should have seen the writing on the wall ages ago. The only way this doesn't look like a complete shitshow is if we end up signing him now for whatever Palace are demanding.

Can only be FFP/PSR fears which are preventing us from making short term signings. We saw what happened in June, so I think that's what is preventing us from making signings unless we are 100% sold on them.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I know it sounds negative, but many of us said when we failed to make signings in January for key positions - I think it was midfield at the time - it basically meant we were writing the season off. It sort of feels like that this time round as well.

    Tino Livramento

Thought he was really good when he came on yesterday too.

Or neither Howe or Mitchell thought any of the alternatives were good enough.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I agree with that in principle, but not sure that Howe is the bottleneck you seem to think he is. It's not out of the question, but pure speculation really.
  18. We only sold him because our backs were to the wall. It's not like we even got great money for him considering we had to take their cast off keeper for £20m to make it happen. Ideally I am sure we would rather have kept him as a squad player who we could develop, but that is just how PSR is screwing the game in general and lots of clubs are having to make such pointless deals.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I still think we'll sign Guehi, but I'm of the opinion now, that if we don't, there'll be no one coming in and we'll make do with what we've got. I did think we'd go for an alternative, but our policy of only bringing in players we really want might override this.

    Joelinton

I agree, even against Bournemouth he wasn't as bad as some are making out. When I am being critical it's only in comparison to the leading clubs and their midfielders as that's where we ultimately want to be.
  21. Didn't realise this draw had already been fixed to favour cartel teams. Who would have thought?
  22. I think he's better suited to playing centrally tbf, but he was short of top level. Forest is a good move for him.

    Joe Willock

People can carp about his fragility with some justification, but we just look so much better when he's fit and firing. His pace was transformational before the injury. In fact even his injury was caused by him chasing back so rapidly and getting caught on the back of it.
  24. Typical performance really. Very bright opening 15 mins then disappeared up his own arse the longer the game went on.
