NUSC write up of Llambias attendance at the Supporters Panel meeting
TRon replied to Happy Face's topic in Football
Says more about your pro NUSC stance than it does about the other side. I couldn't give a monkeys who signed him, if he's a good player he should be used more. -
Jesmond hardly needs his regional help, he could try sinking some money into Walker where he is from I believe, that place could use some invstment. Or he could show Ashley how to run a football club by forming a business consortium and joining in the NUSC campaign to overthrow the current regime at St James.

That's the most baffling thing. They're effectively spit polishing the club with the view to attracting buyers yet Llambias seems to talk in the long term. I really do hope MA wants to offload ASAP but I fear we're going to be in the second tier in a few seasons time still finding ways to cut costs. I fear you are correct. It's admitted in this article that the long term talk was bollocks and it seems they are just continuing with this speel in the hope that supporters have something to cling onto. I am in no doubt we will financially be better off when they leave but unless these youngsters are superstars we are going to be years behind most of the premiership. Could you quote that bit, please? I must have missed it. On this note we asked why Ashley comes out with statements such as we are going to be in Europe by the end of the season and what price to finish in the top six? Llambias questioned where these quotes were coming from and we duly informed him of the source: His own clubs programme on the day NUFC were comprehensively taken apart 5-1 by Liverpool. The guy in charge of the programme defended this as an attempt to pick up on the feel good factor. It's exactly this sort of bollocks which shows up the NUSC as the raging numpties which many suspect them of being. -
I think it wasn't the substition in isolation, more a chance for the fans to sing "you don't know what you're doing" to Hughton, which I felt was a correct assessment.

Maybe you people should be treated to having Taylor back in central defence, some memories need jogging.

That Llambias is out of his depth is clear from the short-sighted managerial saga with joe kinnear. The problem is, the NUSC are like militant Unionists intent on getting the boot into the leadership on every perceived failure and I can only see both sides putting their defenses up as a result. Yeah - far better to do nothing and take the medicine which is given to you without question. NUSC might not be perfect, but at least they are doing something - rather than those who are happy to sit on their hands apart from sticking the knife in when it suits. I would rather sit on my hands than agitate in such a daft manner with no answers in sight. If the genuine concerns could be put to Llambias and reported back with at least some effort to disguise the hostility I'd have a bit more hope. This just comes across as an angry mob needing to vent, "doing something" means F-all if there's no serious support behind it like there was for The Magpie Group decades ago led by John Hall. -

I've seen worse performances, although not many. Not spending big any more I can live with, the thought of Hughton followed by Kinnear coming back with a two year extension is what makes my eyes glaze over.

When it's confirmed he's out for 6 weeks I'll celebrate, until then the champagne's on ice.

The tone of the article was as usual, unnecessarily aggressive. I'm surprised Llambias has even entertained the NUSC given the clear hostility on view. -
It was embarassing to watch in all honesty. Watching two teams ping the ball around the park with skill and intelligence, then remembering the massacre of the game we played our part in this afternoon.
-
As above really but really only worth keeping if we gain Coca Cola Championship qualification . He should be regarded as a striker only. He's said himself he's not happy on the wing, Rangers fans have said he's shit there, and the scottish cunt commentating for Setanta said the same thing. Hughton is hopeless.
-
Enrique, Jonas and Martins are three of the rare players at Newcastle who want the ball and are comfortable with it. ATM there are too many who look like cloggers in the side and it shows.
-
If Ashley didn't realise his policy of holding on for Joe risked relegation before, he does now. He looked like he was shitting bricks watching today's game.
-
Spurs losing and Shay Given coming down to earth with a bang at City...shame we lost otherwise it would have been a good day.
-
Must admit, when I heard Llambias' interview saying Keegan was their man, then the prospective settlement, plus the rumours of Wise departing, I did think the road could be cleared for Keegan to return. Both sides could do with the compensation being waived as a result, but deep down I just don't see Keegan wanting to work with a club run on a financial shoestring, it's just not in his make up.
-
He came out of his area and got beaten to the ball twice IIRC, leaving him in no man's land. Got lucky he wasn't punished really.
-
Him not being a good player with the ball at his feet has very little to do with his team mates tbh. He's a defender though if he's good with the ball that's a bonus. The real problems we've got are the players in front of him aren't very good with the ball at their feet either and seeing as they are midfielders it's bloody crucial. You're right, but his defending has been weak too although it improved today. It just seems that week after week another flaw is being exposed in his game which has previously been mentioned as a strength. Overall he seems to be getting worse rather than coming to terms with the league, with others then getting the blame for it. I thought our defence coped well today, other than the goal we looked in control. Once we've got something that could vaguely be described as a working midfield maybe we can look at improving the defensive personnel. Right now for me it's not a major concern.
-
Just because he's there doesn't mean you have to pick him. I think the problem is with the decision making higher up.
-
I thought our football was without any method and it looked like Hughton just sent them out there hoping for the best. The terrible team selection and substitutions were just syptoms of the general cluelessness.

Sorry mate, mines been out for about 2 months. Of course it's probably not fair to judge surrounded by dross as he is. But, he seems to lack some basiscs ie crossing, shooting and passing. Relevant or not? it's a bit like criticising Martins for having a poor first touch while picking Ameobi ahead of him.
-
Hopefully Owen, Guthrie, Beye, Viduka and Barton will make enough of a difference in the final 7 or 8 games or so provided they van get past in-form players like Ameobi when they are finally fit.

Hughton seems to like playing full backs and forwards in midfield so it's possible he'll bring in David Edgar to replace Butt and put Cacapa on the wing.
