  1. Feels great not going into this game fearing a hiding. Also nice to go into it with pundits showing us some respect in such a big game.
  2. They are playing really well at the moment, will be a tough game for sure. It will be equally tough for them as well though, we are not an easy side to beat. The game we did lose we were robbed against Liverpool, we would have won that if the perfectly good goal by Isak had been allowed to stand.
  3. Both are prime candidates to be upgraded. Ironically both are doing a decent job for the side currently, but they lack polish. I would regard both as assets bearing in mind their age, but if we are gunning for CL positions then we need top quality to match the top 4 in those areas.
  4. He must be pretty good then. Not sure he'll be starting many games for them any time soon.
  5. I have a feeling that there's more chance we'll sign Maximo Perrone than Tielemans. I just get the feeling Tielemans is running down his contract and will then move to the club of his choice, which might not necessarily be us. Perrone rumours have been rumbling for a while now, he seems to fit our bill of buying young up and coming stars, and maybe he will suit our pressing style more. Although if Eddie wants Tielemans then he obviously thinks he can do all that as well. Although we don't actually know that we are definitely looking at Tielemans at this point, it's all conjecture.
  6. There's a blast from the past, forgot about that one. Sheer genius.
  7. Didn't actually watch the finals from 1970 but saw the goals later on in life and they were still magical. What a player. What a man.

Why would he go to Stoke? Have you took a look around the shit hole you live in?
  9. Well I would never have pointed to Jorginho as a potential target either, but if Howe and our scouts think he can take us to another level, and the club have no problem with funding a move, I wouldn't argue. Dan Burn looked a weird move a year ago.
  10. I remember saying something similar when Man U paid £60m for Casimero who is due to turn 31 soon. It's a daft amount of money, but he hasn't half improved their team. He'll give them quality for probably another three seasons minimum. If Howe thinks Jorghino would have a similar impact on us, and he is fit enough to play our pressing game, then could see it happening. We won't be buying any players who don't put in 100% for 90mins.
  11. I used to hate watching Shearer as a pundit, but he's really blossomed over the last year or so, maybe something to do with Lineker's cheeky prodding. It's not just about us either, he was doing a great job in the box during the Arsenal game as well yesterday, full of enthusiasm and genuine insights.
  12. His patchy fitness record will also count against him. Two pretty glaring drawbacks no matter how good a player he can look when he's on song.

Tbf, I've never seen him look slow, I think that rep came from a few disgruntled fans who thought he was going to Milan before he signed for us.

    Callum Wilson

He looked very lively, and was causing them all sorts of problems.

Saw him racing in to make a tackle, and he was pretty rapid. I didn't even realise it was him until I saw him get up and distribute the ball having won it.
  16. He looked a handful for sure, just didn't see any end product in the few flashes we saw, but he didn't get a whole lot of game time, and wasn't really on the end of much. Very hard to base a judgement on that, but if he's got a good record of producing end product, then he will be a hell of a player.
  17. It was a pen clear as day. No need to see the opposition POV unless we are talking about something black or white.
  18. I thought Joelinton was one of our best players last night, but it was more general contribution than as a specialist wide man, so I get where you are coming from.
  19. Aye, easy to criticise it until you get reminded what it was like before it came in.
  20. Longstaff has had some really poor touches in crucial moments. The quality deficit shows up in the final third.
