  1. While I'm not sure I'd give him the job full time, he has done a good job so far at steadying the ship.

    Nile Ranger

Don't care if were in a relegation battle, I want to see Nile Ranger tonight.
  3. Best I've seen him play in a long time today.

12 game ban but 6 of those games are suspended. Meaning if he gets sent off again this year for violent conduct he gets a 6 game ban.
  5. There's a difference between agreeing a sale and completing the sale. If the club is taken over around the start of October it's not unrelistic to think 6-8 games is the timeframe it would take to complete the sale.
  6. The way I read it, Venables would like the job if it was long term, i.e. if the club wasn't for sale. Are you saying Ashley shouldn't go, which is what we wanted after all? I'm saying they approached Venables, so they obviously thought they could persuade him to take it despite the turmoil. He won't, just like Keegan wouldn't accept players brought in above his head. My comment has nothing to do with what I want Ashley to do. Don't see what your getting at. Venables clearly says in the article the only reason he didn't take the job was uncertainty about how long he'd be there, nothing to do with transfer policy.
  7. You can't buy a football club overnight. Abu Dhabi only took over at Man City this week, it was just they were rich enough to plow some money in before due dilligence.
  8. Only positive to take from that half is that it is still 0-0. We just look really, really poor.
  9. 1 striker. Taylor needs to give Pavlyuchenko a good kicking.
  10. Fucking brilliant starting lineup. Couldn't have picked any better with what he had available. Finally a good selection by Chris Hughton.
  11. I actually think we could have a chance tonight.
  12. There's been a few games in the last few years that have been below 35,000.
  13. Actually I agree, title edited.
  14. I think regardless of your views on the other circumstances of this situation we can all agree that Hughton can't continue for much longer as manager. Shocking team selection and tactics in both matches, not an ideal situation to be in but his slections have certainly not helped us at all. I'd take anyone right now other than him, bring on O'Leary, Wise, Venables, anybody.
  15. Do you think many decent mangers would have come and accepted Dennis Wise telling them which players they are getting? No different to last January then. Before the protests, Ashley selling etc. I think we would have easily got a continental manager who'd accept the set up. It may not have been massive name but I don't think we'd be in this situation.
  16. The more important thing is a manager. I'd take O'Leary, Wise, virtually anybody over Hughton.
  17. He's put his principles over the long term benefit of the club. He could have told Ashley to find a manager by Jan 1st because he was leaving on that date, instead he's buggered off and left us fucked.
  18. As the title says really. We've protested and forced Ashley to try and sell but now it seems he won't be selling any time in the next month or so atleast, no decent manager will come here with the instability and Ashley not funding us anymore likely means no major recruits in January. Have we massively overplayed our hand and put ourselves in a situation where we really are in deep, deep trouble.
  19. What a joke that team is. Just shows how badly we need a manager as that's Hughton's second shocking team selection. He must be blind if he can't see Bassong is better than Edgar.
  20. Care to explain how paying off £110m of debt, isn't subsidising the club? I've heard about 4 different amounts now The guy paid the debt off to maximise saleability. The debt we had was stable, like most of the other top premier league clubs who are in large amounts of debt (Arsenal, liverpool, manu). That's untrue. Fat Fred himself said that SJH selling up triggered a clause that meant a large sum off money (millions) had to be paid on the SJP mortgage.
  21. I haven't expected European football for years. I don't expect attacking football all of the time. I don't expect big spending on transfers. Any more? Good for you. Sadly the majority of the supporters do expect these things.
