  1. Hopefully we have a new manager and a few players back for this game.
  2. Nothing on the net or SSN. This thread needs deleting as it does nothing but make the situation worse and spread rumours which may not be true. By all means create a new thread when 1 creditable source confirms this but until then it really shouldn't be on here IMO.
  3. Should be locked unless he provides a source.

    "Cockney Mafia Out"

What was the excuse for the 1st half performance? From what I could see the second half was better than the first so I don't see a connection between the banner and the second goal. The second goal was the result of shocking defending which was probably a symptom of the club resembling a rudderless ship. To be honest, I think the protests inside of the ground were very low key considering how bad they could have been. I'm not saying it was the main factor, but surely it would have had a much more positve effect for the fans to come out roaring on the team rather than walking the banner around the ground, just added a really unneccessary distraction for the players and didn't do anything to lift them.
  5. I've had a think and my positon on him coming back has softened a little. I'd take him back as manager but he needs to stop messing about and either enter into deadly serious discussions with Ashley about coming back and working as part of the current system or he needs to accept the system is staying and tell Ashley he is 100% not interested.

Was idiotic and pathetic. The team needed support at the start of the 2nd half not a stupid protest that could have been done before or after the game.
  7. Luckily his contract is up at the end of the season.
  8. Wonder if Gutierrez will play, he's only listed as a doubt on most sites so there is still a chance we could see him, fingers firmly crossed.
  9. Find a new manager and move on. If keegan wants to come back then he can't say he hasn't had the oppurtunity.
  10. I think Ashley has a new manger lined up and today was his final attempt to get Keegan back before hiring the new manager at the start of next week.
  11. The League Managers Association can confirm that talks to resolve several issues were held today between Kevin Keegan and Mike Ashley of Newcastle United Football Club. However, the discussion failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion. For further information please contact: Richard Bevan, LMA Chief Executive, 07860 474 767
  12. Just when we thought we'd got rid of Terry Mac...
  13. While I agree they are not stupid. They are not loyal to us and they are looking at business investments, so why would you pay that extra £70 million when Everton is probobly an equally attractive prospect.
  14. Why? I simply cannot believe there is a chance of him coming back. Unless Ashley is promising a complete overhaul of the club (again). And if so, why wait this long? Why not intervene earlier? I agree. I can't see Ashley overhauling the structure now.
  15. £70 million is the amount Ashley paid to clear the club debt. He'll want that £70m back as part of any deal to sell the club. Put simply the additional £70m Ashley would want just doesn't exist in the value of the club, so anybody who wants to buy is effectively paying £70m over the value of the club. While the super rich may be looking to invest they won't pay £70m over the value of any club when there are several other options out there. So it would shock me if we were sold any time soon.
  16. So where does this leave tomorow's protest. I assume all the morning papers will run with this so it'll be interesting to see how many people turn up now. Think there will just be a sense of confusion.
  17. THAT was in a different lifetime (even if correct) . . . A whole DIFFERENT lifetime (from now). Things - for Ashley - have completely changed now , , , Nothing's changed. In a month this will have all blown over. Be outside and around and then in the ground tomorrow - then tell me nothing has changed and it will all blow over in a month!! Already in 2 weeks the mood has somewhat softened. That is before you consider we haven't done 3 things yet which will rally the fans and soften attitudes - Play a game, Win a game and hire a manager. I mean if we beat Hull and West Ham then how many fans will protest against Blackburn? And the boycott of Ashley's business will not somehow cripple him and force him to sell up. Another big problem away from that piont is Ashley's selling price would include the £70m he used to clear debts, that is value that simply doesn't exist in the club but Ashley would need to get out of a buyer to make the sale viable. And with other options available investors simply won't pay that extra £70m.

  19. Source? Was in Arabian business weekly or something, was a story from the guy who broke news of the City takeover first. Also if I'm correct it had quotes from the guy who's taken over saying he looked at 3 clubs and Newcastle were one of them.
