  1. Would be disastrous for the club. We'd be relegated within 5 years.
  2. Sounds like weak link to me. Says somebody approached but he doesn't know who it was. So at best we sounded him out. At worst it was a dodgy businessman as he says trying to set up the deal. Either way he hasn't rejected us.
  3. I think it's very easy for Ashley, Wise & Co. to get back from here. If they hire a manager and we win our next two games I honestly think the majority will be pacified. They'll still be a minority who'll be unhappy for the next few months but nothing cures unrest at a football club like winning matches.
  4. To be fair I think I would genuinely question the judgement of Ashley, Wise & Co. if they hired a guy with a history of clashes with a board over transfers if they do indeed want to continue having a say over transfers. It would be a disaster waiting to happen.
  5. I'd rather have the Arsenal system but I'd take the Chelsea system if it meant success.
  6. This Jiminez is looking more shambolic by the post, all the fucker has to do is agree fee's & make players sign. Rewind a few years ago & the chief exec (Freddie Fletcher) used to sort the contracts out as well as running the club. That did go missing when Freddie Shep deiced to hire agents to do this rather than himself. I hope the Jiminez has invested a stack in the collapsing Spanish property market. Fuck me. If you believe that you'll believe anything. I don't think anybody knows and everybody is making it up as they go along. I very much doubt anyone knows what went on apart from the people involved.
  7. Who are they when you consider these criteria. - No traditional British manager will have the job when they don't have 100% control. The only way we get a British manager is if we get someone desperate who hasn't had a job for ages and will take anything. - Must be able to work with a Director of Football. - Has to be comfortable not just having a DoF but is prepared for the DoF to overrule him at times. That likely rules out the likes of Deschamps and Terim as they have both left previous club due to disputes with the board over transfers. - Most likely needs to be attack minded or he's gonna get lynched by the fans. I think Ashley, Wise & Co. are clever enough to keep that under consideration when picking a manager. So when you consider the above criteria who can we think of that would realistically make a shortlist?
  8. Wouldn't surprise me that the club see him as a no go. You only have to have a quick look at his record to see he has a history of falling out with boards over transfer spending, not exactly ideal for our situation.

    Soccer Aid

Think it's on now tbh on ITV. Not definetly sure though.
  10. The article has now changed. It now says Terim is interested with quotes from his agent but no longer claims Newcastle are in talks. http://www.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2008/09/07/Prem-Terim-in-Newcastle-talks/?facets/football/

    Hull...Protest?

Another thing people who want to boycot say the opening part of the game need to consider is when do the club shut the turnstiles. I don't know myself but it would be pretty embarassing if the idea was to turn up 30 mins into the game and the club had shut the turnstiles.
  12. Don't know all that much about him. He left Fiorentina because of a clash with the president over club spending though.
  13. I hardly think we've got the most secure of futures now, do you? We lost a manager. I hardly think that jeopardizes the future of the club. We'll get a new manager and move on.
  14. We've still got almost an entire season to play. You're happy for us to drop points and edge towards relegation I take it? As long as they're forced out and have no chance to recover from their mistakes... The next few weeks of matches hardly bare much significance in the grand scheme of things. It might not seem like that but, they dont. The priory must be imo for the fans to show in every way possible, and relentlessley, that we want Ashley & co out. What is football about? Wheres the romance? Is it purley a business? Are we all fans so we can have look at nice stats about net spend etc, no I cant think about a replacement, and cant bare Ashley & co bieng here any longer... Are you fucking kidding me? Our next 3 games are Hull, West Ham and Blackburn. We MUST pick up atleast 5 pionts at a very minimum from these teams and ideally it is possible we could pick up all 9. If we have any chance at Europe then every piont will count. Utterly pathetic that your willing to sacrifice our season in a petty and futile attempt to get rid of the man who OWNS the club.
  15. Cacapa - Released Michael Owen - We'll try to keep him but I think it looks increasingly likely he'll leave Steve Harper - He'll stay Nicky Butt - Hopefully he doesn't get offered a new contract Shola Ameobi - Released David Edgar - Released Mark Viduka - Released or put on a pay as you play deal.

    Zola?

Definetly wouldn't mind Zola. Although I'd prefer if we looked at more experienced coach's first.
  17. I think the players will fall into line once the new manager is appionted.
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if the "source" for tomorow articles are Wise or Jimenez. The quotes have obviously been given from the top of the club because the Times and NOTW are running articles with near identical quotes, so thery clearly aren't made up.
  19. To be fair the club look to have scored a MASSIVE PR victory with these back page stories that paint KK as a lunatic basically. Whether what's been written is true or not these stories are gonna have massive influence on how people see the situation.
  20. Jimenez had apparently been advising Ashley well before his official appiontment.
  21. They've just put it out for the benefit of the sunday papers tbh.
  22. I presume those wanting Ashley to come back from holiday were the same people who wanted Keegan back from California when the transfer window started.
  23. Am I the only one who'd be dissapionted if we hired Keegan again if this guy took over. With the 6th richest guy in the world owning us we could have our pick of mangers so I'd be somewhat dissapionted if he hired Keegan instead of Rijkaard, Mancini etc.
  24. No man is bigger than the club, not even Kevin Keegan. He's gone so we need to move on, no point in tearing the club apart trying to get him back or whatever people are trying to achieve. KEVIN KEEGAN is bigger than dennis wise by any measure of stature, success or achievement, this is what is so stupid by ashley. Your piont is what? Keegan just doesn't fit in with our setup of Wise, Jimenez and Vetere. Keegan has chosen to resign, was given the chance to stay but didn't and wasn't prepared to work within our continental setup. I actually believe the continental setup will be much more effective in the long run when recruiting players than 1 manager can ever possibly be with Wise, Vetere and the rest of our scouting setup able to watch players all year round, whereas a manger cannot due to his first team responsibilities. if its such a brilliant system, Why didnt leeds, have that system, when wise and poyet were there. ill tell you why, cos Wise wouldnt have accepted it. Not the fact that Leeds were fucking broke and bought most of their players from England on free or very low fee deals, not exactly needing DoF for that.
