Nah, it won't be that. MON has been the one who has sounded like he wanted to cash in on Milner this summer, apart from anything. As I said earlier, I think it goes back to the fact that over the last two years, we've accrued an immense wage bill, including a lot of players on big deals, who never get a game. Habib Beye, 31 years old, 3 year contract, 40k a week. Nicky Shorey, 40k a week, never used. Sidwell, 40k a week, comes on for ten mins here and there (and is s***) Also, revealed recently that Emile Heskey (3.5 year contract at age 31, on 60k a week) is the highest earner at the club. Personally, I think that is the thing which has done for him. Is it good for us? Well, I don't know. I do think that had he stayed, he'd have got us to 6th or 7th this season again. That's not his problem, he could get most decently funded teams to around that level. His problem is that having got us there for three years, he plainly didn't have what it took to move us on. And that's not just judged on points / positions, it is judged to a large degree on what we've seen on the pitch at home for the last two years, where the football has been terribly predictable, and unproductive. It is good for us if Lerner appoints the right man. Were it not for the fact I've just heard he's been installed as favourite, I would be putting money on Martin Jol right now. He's the sort of manager we could use, and he's got an affinity for the club (used to watch us play on his days off when he was playing at Albion). As an outside bet, what is Klinsmann doing these days? Rumours he is a friend of Lerner, and he was widely considered to be his planned manager before the takeover, until he heard everyone else wanted MON. Strange, rarely does the negoiation of salaries fall the manager, that's generally a chairman level negoiation. im sure it would have been done by the chairman. the point is, he has backed his manager, buying who he wanted, and he either has never used them, or they've been fucking shite.

specultaion that its because they have agreed to sell milner and ashley young.

the Ginger kid is Campbell. he looks quality. we beat Psg 2-0 and are leading the second game 2-0 at half time. Campbell looks a right player.

You don't need to duck, I thought he was a class player. sorry, was on the wind up, thought you wanted him out after souness-gate. must have been someone else.

Absofuckinglutely. I don't think anyone will disagree. However, it is possible to have a different opinion on what will make a quality player for the team we've got. Talent, technique, skill, pace, flair. Team spirit doesn't do anything for any of those, and yet they're what we are missing in abundance. Ideally we want team spirit too, but quality always wins out in this league. I disagree. The winners in football always have team spirit. Teams with quality players that win nothing almost not. Robinho at Man City is a good case study. Robinho clearly didn't want to go there, and did so purely because of the money. s*** example. Nonetheless, name a success that wasn't built on team spirit... We're on about staying up man, not winning the f***ing league. speak for yasel ! [email protected]

where did you stand on the bellamy debate again. (ducks)

yeah you are, you play man uitd at 9.30 tomorrow. im pretty sure this tournament is where wenger spotted cesc. man utd also signed the da silva twins after seeing them play here. At least he didn't spot Messi, which was in the same team IIRC... Didnt Messi's family have roots in barca or something as well? sure I read something about you moving his family over and funding his steroid prescriptions? Messi has relatives in Catalonia, from the same town Roberto Martínez is from. But his family moved over form Argentina when he trialed for Barça (they are back there now). And it was growth hormone, not steroids man same thing. It's not the same. Although people use both to increase muscle mass, a steroid it's not the same hormone. Giving steroids to a 13-yeard old boy would be just wrong, they are derived from male sexual hormones i was joking. my mistake.
