  1. Has nobody thought that this might just be a way to get planning permission to gain some value for the club so that share prices rise and make even more money if the club is sold? A house with planning permission for an extension is worth more than one without, it might just be a way of attracting potential buyers towards the club after two dropped out earlier this year.

    Fred's Pledge

This has got Souness and £50 million written all over it, will we ever learn that throwing money at a poor manager isn't the answer?

    Fred's Pledge

    1, it's still a number.

    I love Newcastle

Not heard of him before...is he any good? Hitzfeld is manager of Bayern Munich... 2 times win Champions League(Borusia Dortmund and Bayern Munich)... But is he proven in England like Roeder is? You'll find it hard to come across any manager who is proven in England the way Roeder is. Not many fail 3 times and then get appointed to one of the top 8 managerial jobs in world football.

    Despite...

I wouldn't disagree with you other than that the sale was the right thing to do, what happened after it is where we went wrong. Having said that, the sale was down to luck because I doubt we knew how long he was going to be out of action for.
  6. And because of that we can be fairly sure than Roeder will go and will probably be replaced with somebody who is just as bad as him.

Selling Woodgate was the right thing to do, squandering the money from his sale was bordering on criminal.
  8. You can ferkin stay away for Blackburn, Jonah.

As I argued at the time, Real Madrid are not the sort of club to keep a player if they think he will never get past his injuries. They cancelled Figo's contract because he fell out with their manager, they're the most ruthless club in football. They'd have got shot of Woody instantly if they thought he was no use to them. That they kept him into a third season through three different managers was a show of faith. Of course both he and Campbell were a gamble for Boro and Pompey. But we took the biggest gamble of all, we didn't buy anyone and relied on kids as backup. And Roeder says he didn't think Huntington or Edgar would be needed this season. What on earth was he thinking - 6 defenders to get us through 4 competitions and 9 months of football? When all the dust has settled he will look back on that as his biggest f*ck up and I think it cost us more points than anything else this season. I'm not sure that Roeder will look back on anything as a mistake, I'm sure he thinks everything he does is right.
  10. You're exactly right, it's just another excuse to trot out when others have been overused.

  12. He's not only making promises for next year, he's got the injury excuse in early.
  13. I've just checked icnewcastle, I thought that somebody had just made that photo up to take the piss out of the article.
  14. What a difference a month makes.

    Crouch > Martins

Agreed, he's got the ball control of Shola, it just bounces anywhere.
  16. Roeder hasn't brung us down to this level, we were heading this way before he came, he's just maintained that direction. Robson didn't sack himself, Souness and Roeder didn't appoint themselves. Roeder is a part of the problem but he shouldn't have been given the job in the first place, very few people thought he was the right choice.
  17. I think he would have been daft enough to appoint him, the only difference would have been that people might have seen this season as an improvement over last.
  18. Shearer said on MOTD that we need a win or two to be safe.
  19. My nephew wasn't forced into supporting us, more like brainwashed.

    tipping points.

Agreed, and that goes for them both although I vowed never to call for the head of Roeder while his boss was still at the club, I didn't say that I'd blindly support him.
  21. proper supporters support the team of the place where they come from. Not true, some proper supporters support teams because of family members, my kids were always going to support Newcastle, regardless of where they were born. My nephew was born in the midlands but didn’t have a choice in the matter, he was born black & white, we made sure of that.
  22. At least you remembered you were going to post so all is not lost.
  23. Quite a few hardly played because of injuries, the squad were probably better on paper but they were still crap on the pitch. Bobby had to get rid of quite a few before he could spend too much.
