  1. And that brings us back to the moron who appointed Souness, not the fans who backed him for whatever reason. Mick. I'm frankly tired of you spouting off the bit about the "moron who appointed Souness". The fact is, supporters do count, otherwise why are you and others now trying to get up some kind of momentum to get Fred out? You should have been doing it to get Souness out. Many people supported Souness's efforts to get rid of the likes of Bellamy and Robert, they fully supported the funding of Souness to build his own team before judging him. Had there been even the ripple of the shite people like you are trying to kick off right now Souness may have gone earlier. We all know the ultimate responsibility lies with the Board, but don't try to tell me that they are immune to the noises of the supporters. You're a couple of years too late and the sooner you and your ilk accept that you've got what you wished for the better you'll feel. People swallowed the propaganda and tripe (people like me were slated for calling it that) from Souness and his entourage so the Board was under little or no pressure to get rid of Souness until it was obvious to most. It's never been obvious to omarse and some others. It was said then that people should be careful what they wish for, they are now seeing the result. It could be the same wishing for Fred to go, I don't expect you to understand though. You're incapable of learning any lessons of time. That's a ridiculously juvenile statement. Do you really believe Fred on his own selected and appointed Souness? What is the significance of someone being on a dream list of supporters on a forum? Souness was never mentioned as a candidate by supporters on here but then why would he be? They scoff at the idea of Dave Jones or Paul Jewell, good solid managers who are realistic targets and who would both be better than Souness and Roeder. You talk a load of crap at times, I've never supported Souness being at our club at any time and did all I could to get rid of him in the limited way I could. I have not got what I wished for, where do you get that from? I can only guess that it fits your argument so it must be true, even if you have nothing to back it up, I was as much against Souness as I am now against Shepherd and if you had any kind of memory then you wouldn't be clutching at straws like that to defend Shepherd, you're laughable. Regarding "You're incapable of learning any lessons of time," maybe you should practice that one yourself and learn from history, the club is going backwards and showing no signs of changing direction, you should learn from history that clubs in free fall usually get relegated, by the time you wake up it'll be far too late. Shepherd did appoint Souness, look at the people on our board and tell me that Shepherd doesn't hold the power, I've tried to enlighten you before but you seem incapable of taking things in, Shepherd and his family have more boardroom votes than the Halls so could have easily scuppered any motion to appoint Souness if that is what he wanted to do, assuming as you do that it wasn't his choice, something which once again you have nothing to back it up. Like it or not, Shepherd is the person who appointed Souness and that was a moronic decision, I'll take that back when you prove otherwise.
  2. It could have been worse for him, he could have been trying to defend a chairman who is beyond defence, that is what I call a big problem.
  3. And that brings us back to the moron who appointed Souness, not the fans who backed him for whatever reason. I don't know of a single person who wanted Souness appointed, other than Shepherd. People may have backed him once appointed, none wanted him appointed in the first place, understand?
  4. http://www.true-faith.co.uk/ This says it all.
  5. Shepherds worst characteristic isn't sacking managers at the start of the season, its appointing shite; to that end he's consistent. Should Shepherd just let things go as they are, even if we get relegated?
  6. The pathetic ones are those who are quite happy to accept mediocrity and allow things to develop into a relegation battle.
  7. Mick

    MON the saviour

Roeder couldn't get the win against Charlton so I reckon he couldn't.
  8. For the first time this season, I think we're in danger of going down. Roeder just can't cut it now that the lift from Souness leaving has gone, he's on a par with Souness when it comes to being clusless. I think I predicted that we'd finish between 8th and 12th before the season got under way, now I think we're on for our lowest Premiership finish, I can't see us finishing as high as 14th with this setup at the club. The bottom team have just earned a point away from home, something they've been unable to do until now. If Sheff Utd get the first goal against us then I can see us getting beat. Shepherd Out
  9. Care to comment on this NE5? It was posted just over two weeks ago. Bump its pretty obvious if you read the context of the thread, the figures would be worse if the club appointed an army of business people who have no bearing on the results on the pitch. Now maybe you will answer why Gordon Lee and Arthur Cox left Newcastle, why our 3 locally bred England players left the club and why you consider our current position and regular european football to be the same as that period and all the years we spent playing in the 2nd division, where finishing 15th in the league [one place lower than under Souness] as a "golden era". You weren't really there were you bluesleep.gif What a shit reply, not for the first time. You really are as thick as anybody I've ever met when it comes to defending yourself and Shepherd, we're 16th at this time, one place lower than you've mentioned above. The season isn't over but it's not looking very good and because of our financial state it could easily take a turn for the worse. At least you'll be happy that we once had Gordon Lee and Arthur Cox and can bang on about our "Golden era." Funilly enough, if Shepherd carries on the way he is going then we could all be looking back at those times as the "Golden era." Explain your use of "Don't expect macbeth to give any credit to the board or chairman for keeping costs down - the simple fact is that in football the most effective financial input of all is gained through winning games on the pitch, and playing regularly in europe has put a lot of money through Newcastle United. Of course - everyone else does, so it doesn't make us one of the countries leading clubs in any shape of form." I can't see where this fits in when referring to our club today, sorry, I forgot, "the figures would be worse if the club appointed an army of business people who have no bearing on the results on the pitch." Do you cringe when you look back at that or is it just a reaction that I get when reading it?
  10. I didn't say Villa were 19th in the league when they won the European Cup, I said they were 19th when Saunders left them during the season in which they did win it. I'm trying to teach you that although they did win the European Cup they were not performing very well in the league, something which you use when measuring the success of a club. If this is the measure of Villa when Ellis took over then he clearly hasn't taken them as far backwards as Shepherd has us, will the penny now drop? If you accept this measurement as being how you compare clubs, is it fair to say that Ellis is better than Shepherd? I can't see how you can deny this as you constantly use being top 5 for over a decade as being the be all and end all of your arguments, you also use league position under Gordon Lee as being a grest achievement, it's got to go both ways as Ellis beats Shepherd 5-4. You claim you supported Newcastle starting in 1964, I can't beat that one because I was too young, well done for being older than me. The club can't afford to overspend any more, we've already done that and we're really in the shit because of it, you blame the manager, I blame the man who signs the cheques and will continue to do so until you or anybody else can prove that Souness held a gun to his head and forced him to do it. I've never at any time called for Roeder to be sacked and will not do so while Shepherd is chairman because I don't think he'll appoint anyone better, he's not capable of that. I've said I don't think Roeder is good enough to manage us and our league position tells me that I'm right, again, as with Shepherd, I think you're wrong on this one. Carry on defending the un-defendable, it's your choice, I don't mind if you look as if you're on the pay-roll, again, that's your choice.

  12. Oh dear, is that the best you can do? Give your head a shake for your own sake. You're backing the bloke who had just posted a record loss, gates are falling and we're in the bottom of the table fighting for our place in the division. I didn't support the old directors so I've a clear conscience on that one, I just don't think the bloke you worship is any better and he seems to go out of his way to prove that he's no better. You claimed Ellis was shite but Shepherd wasn't, even though Ellis has finished above Freddy more than the other way round. We've just posted massive losses and you are still supporting him, you really are a comedy genius, even if you're not aware just how stupid you are looking. Ellis took Villa "massively backwards" from European Champions during 26 years [TWENTY SIX]. I think even you would admit that is long enough to prove he was incapable of keeping them in the position that is their right or maintain their former glories. Or maybe now. He also didn't back his managers, which a long term supporter - cough cough - of Newcastle United should be aware of the importance of. It may be that this board has taken the club as far forward as they can, but it doesn't mean the replacements will be better. As in thinking replacing Keegan would lead to automatic improvement, and replacing Robson, you should be aware it isn't so easy as that. Long term supporters - cough cough - should be more aware than this, having saw for themselves that Newcastle United are not immune from treading the depths of the old 2nd division and selling their best players. Do you still view this as a "golden era" etc, challenging for promotion with a few has beens then selling our best players when we get up being the height of ambition? There are a few people looking stupid on here...in my view they are those who think that a fairy is waiting in the wings to guarantee moving NUFC onto trophies that are theirs by divine right, and will have the good of the club at heart despite being shown this is far from certain, and be automatically better than the current board, yet are unable to name who this person is. You do know that Villa won the European Cup in a season in which they finished well down the league and Saunders had resigned because they were 19th in the league, don't you? You do know Villa were £2 million in debt when Ellis took over, didn't you? Maybe that was one reason why he didn't back his manager, maybe he couldn't, and maybe he wasn't going to risk pawning the club, something that Shepherd appears to have done. You do know this, you must know that they were showing signs of being on the slide before Ellis took over the club, don't you? If you do know this then you are just using snippets to try and back you up but that's not a surprise, you do it all of the time. If you didn't know this then maybe you should look at the bigger picture before using snippets to back the bloke who puts a twinkle in your eye. As for this board taking us as far as they can, don't bet on it. They've taken us backwards from 2nd in the league and financially stable to where we are now, 16th in the league and in massive debt, they can take us even further because they are so incompetent but don’t let that get in the way of your fantasy world in which everything Freddy does is for the benefit of the club and not himself. This “Golden era” you keep harping on about is something that’s only a reality in your mind, it’s the way you term it, nobody else does, we’re actually closer to that now than we have been since those days and we’ve only got Shepherd to thank. Finally, post some links to where people have said we’ve a divine right to trophies; I’ll not hold my breath, Freddy. Do you still think Shepherd is good at managing the clubs finances? Shepherd Out.
  13. Do you think he should stay or go? I'll not throw it back in your face if you've changed your mind as we all change opinions, I get the feeling that you have, or, are close to doing so although I might be wrong. Mick, I've never changed my mind on this. What I said was the error of Souness was huge and has cost the club a massive amount. The replacement has to be correct and if not Fred should consider his position as Chairman. What do you think that means, like? It seems obvious to me. Sometimes I argue with you but think we are not a million miles apart in what we think, I might be wrong. Go for it, try Shepherd Out. bluebiggrin.gif
  14. I must go out and will not get back on here until tomorrow, I'm gutted that HTL's might turn against Shepherd and I might be the last person to see it. Go for it HTL's, you'll feel much better. It'll be a bit like going to see the doctor and expecting to be told you've only got a week to live then he tells you that you're perfectly healthy, go for it.

  17. I may have come back with childish shite but at least I don't come out with the shite you and your "mate" keeps coming out with when you back Shepherd while he ruins something you both claim to care about. I can't answer your question with a yes or no, it's not as easy as that and depends on who the manager is. I was happy to see Keegan and Robson backed but not Souness, backing him has resulted is the record loss that has been widely reported today. How the hell can you defend Shepherd when he appointed somebody who was obviously going to fail the way he did. I could see what was going to happen and you could. How can he get away with appointing the person who has financially crippled this club and by appointing him, Shepherd has crippled the club. You stick up for him as long as you want, you really are backing yourself into an embarrassing position for yourself, and you obviously can't see that you are looking like a total idiot. Take a long hard look at yourself because you are sticking up for Shepherd in the same way as Shepherd stuck up for Souness when everybody knew Souness should go and you look just as daft.
  18. Has it come to this? Hoping for a point at home to bottom-of-the-league ****ing Charlton Athletic if we score first? However, with 4 points taken out of the last 24 available... It's a shite state of affairs. :wullie: I think it has come to this, no matter how far fetched that would have seemed only a few years ago.
  19. I thought Martins and Moore had groin injuries.
  20. We should get something as long as we don't let the first goal in.
  21. You're in the majority for once.
  22. Mick

    Shearer happy

Are you giving Shepherd credit for Shearer not being 26?
  23. Suprised Invicta ? I'm sure he's surprised because Man U fans were against the sale of the club.
