Another Anal Oliver exclusive I hope to god he is wrong about Ince and Poyet Three in the race for NUFC hot seat Sep 12 2008 by Alan Oliver, Evening Chronicle Paul Ince PAUL INCE is on Newcastle United’s shortlist of three to replace Kevin Keegan as manager. The other two are believed to be Spurs No 2 Gus Poyet and French World Cup-winning captain Didier Deschamps. But it is thought to be a straight fight between United director of football Dennis Wise’s two close friends, Ince and Poyet. However, the Magpies board will wait until the weekend’s events are over before they sit down on Monday and try to come up with a decision. They are understood to have received 38 serious applications for the role, which they have now narrowed down to the shortlist of three. The Chronicle revealed on Wednesday that Ince was in the frame for one of the hottest jobs in football. And we said yesterday that as long as Wise was advising United owner Mike Ashley then the current Blackburn Rovers boss would be very much in the running. This was still the situation at the start of play today. United will be interested in how Ince fares when he pits his wits against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal at Ewood Park tomorrow. Ince brushed aside talk of him taking over at St James’s Park when he held his press conference for tomorrow’s match and insisted that he was focusing on facing the Gunners. The odds on Ince have been slashed by the bookies, but Poyet still remains very much their favourite. However, sources in North London say Poyet has no intention of leaving Spurs and linking up again with Wise. It is believed that United will wait until after their Carling Cup game with Spurs at St James’s Park a week on Wednesday before announcing their new manager – and this would point to Poyet being in the running. The Chronicle revealed yesterday that caretaker manager Chris Hughton has been told he will have three matches in charge. Mike Ashley obviously has another couple of difficult decisions to make in the next few days, but first he has to decide whether to attend tomorrow’s match with Hull City at St James’s Park where he would face the fury of fans following Keegan’s departure. My information is that Ashley will not be there and he will insist that he had a previous appointment. I would also be surprised if managing director Derek Llambias has his usual column on the inside back page of the club programme as the United hierarchy attempt to keep low profiles.

Yes i think it could go tits up if KK came back just a gut feeling and he would be tarnished forever .
-
Aye this is my stance, I would rather we sorted out a quality manager than sit and HOPE Ashley f***s off any time soon. Agreed; as much as they've disgusted me with this whole debacle I just can't see them disappearing in the near future so we've got to pray they do better this time. There's now some huge f***ing pressure to get it right - if they thought the expectations at this club were high then they've seen nothing yet. Very noble but a new manager will still be a yes man and why would Cashley treat him any better than KK.
-
forgive my ignorance but if his spokesman says they are not making an offer thats the end of it surely .
-
Agree cannot get enthusiastic about a new manager atm i still feel dead inside i couldnt give a shit and tbh i hope fatman mk2 gets the fuck out sharpish and takes his cronies with him .
-
Cracking article and over the next few days and weeks there will be more of the same and dare i say it the nationals will get stuck in and i for one will love it .
-
Supporters for change worked the first time why not use it again.
-
Well fuck off then if you think its pointless we dont need you ,there are a lot of very passionate and emotional fans atm trying to put over there thoughts and feelings at a time of massive upheavel at our beloved club .
-
Imho there is a deep hatred and resentment of fatman mk2 and his cronies and with the media being pro keegan in this affair i think Cashley will get a bloody big shock and hopefully fuck off if he has any sense cos the fat fuck can hardly talk his way out of this sorry mess or use one of his minnions to do it for him .This time i believe the media can be used to our advantage and he may take notice ,god i am angry ,bitter, sad and feel let down by a bunch of bumbling baffoons with no interest in making a successfull football team .
-
The saddest day in recent memory for me i feel as if someone has died best of luck kk you deserve better than that shower of shit .

For once there aren't all that many players I can't stomach. I'd wager they're as gutted as the rest of us. Unlike previous sackings, none of this is their fault. Goes for any club really, look at the last transfer window, not alot care for football it seems nevermind individual loyalty to clubs. Would people like N'Zogbia give a s*** either way? It'll be the same as always, a short period of discontent, then we'll all jump back on the bandwaggon and it'll long be forgotten.

Last thing on my mind atm anyone coming to manage our club will be a yes man to the arseholes running it .
-
Bring it on had enough of Ashley tbh cannot see us going forward with him imho after this debacle and transfer window with his bum chums controlling .
-
Wonder if there is any way back for KK after this ,how can Ashley be trusted now if Kev is so pissed off with interference from above and it has been said that this was going to happen by various posters on here . Atm i hope Ashley can find a buyer and sell up because i do not think we will ever catch up with the rest with way we are running our business now .Everyone thought he was the knight in shining armour slaying the fat dragon and building the kingdom again but i feel he doesnt have a clue how to get the right people in place too get us back up to the upper heights of the premiership with this penny pinching flog and not replace attitude ,surely he must know our squad is threadbare and injurys will be inevitable in key positions and his team cannot get the bodies in after being in place for so long and identifying a list of targets after selling players for good profit .
-
Beat me too it with this thread ,i think since Mort left it has been nothing short of a disaster in the p.r and communications dept we get hardly any news and i dont mean transfer activity but yesterday highlighted the breakdown with the media .Letting the crowds build up and the lack of information was fuel for the papers etc when it could have been put to bed earlier when a spokesperson could have put the flames out and said we will keep you informed with a statement but was left 9 hrs for any info and what was given out was left open to "is he gone or not "as it can be interpreted different ways by the wording .
-
Of course i will still support my team and the ones who have voted no can fuck off cos you are a waste of space and we dont need you .
-
Maybe KK is away from training for the simple reason we dont have a game for a week and half and he doesnt need to be there ,god im trying to stay positive here .
-
Oh dear fear the worst now ,come on toon let us know
-
The old KK would have walked. Yes i am coming to the conclusion that KK is a changed man and dare i say it a puppet for Ashley and his cohorts
-
Oh dear dont the dishes need washing pet mackems.gif
-
So i wonder what is right about a player on loan from a club who have just bought him and ship him out to us for a season ,how the fuck can KK judge him to be right for us .
-
Fookin hell moderators get a grip on these needless threads oops you are it silly me

fook me our lads will have to learn spanish

Sundayworshiptastic, the guy has a history of being a horrible t*** there are hundreds if not thousands of footballers who set a good example then there are the Bartons of this world who cause trouble wherever they go .Barton would puke on an old lady at a W.I garden party if he found out the cakes where made by the gay black vicar cos thats the type of guy he is and imho nothing will change him so we are left with him and he plays for our team and when he is our player i wish him to do the best for us even though i despise him as a person because of the way he conducts himself .Never met the lad but if i did i would probably get along with him as by all accounts he is a canny fella till the red mist descends probably alcohol induced most of the time .
