To say that the club have surpassed my expectations, on a transfer, is quite frankly something I never thought I would say about NUFC again. This is a biblical level signing because not only does it show the true ambitions of the ownership, it also shows that a) they can be trusted to at least try and move us forward and b) they are smart movers (they could have splurged on Coutinho or a yesterday man).

If we can bring them down by even 1m, we should get this deal done. If we had a permanent bid accepted, I'd be surprised if Lingard couldn't be convinced to move on a long term deal, given his treatment by Man Utd. Surely at this stage, he will want out with any half decent offer? Also, bare in mind that after today the chances of us signing anyone from the continent drops dramatically, due to logistics. I believe loans from abroad are less complex because medicals aren't as important, therefore deals can still be done without all parties in the same room.
