  1. Have no interest in snooping around spurs targets. I think we have proved we can pick up good players on our own.
  2. Really have good feelings about Taylor and Coloccini as a partnership. KK talking today about how they could be playing beside each other for the next 5 years. Would be great if that could happen. Also had occured to me that we have finally got a class centre back who has enough leadership characteristics to be captain. If Owen goes......
  3. Height is actually an irrelevant subject, what matters is the ability to contest and head the ball. Which, of course, is helped by height. Colo, Taylor,Owen, Martins,Viduka and Beye all are very good at contesting the ball aerially. As well as this we have Jonas who is a man mountain, that's 7/11. I think attacking wise we should all be looking at how good our delivery of the ball is, not the size of the players.
  4. Exactly. I remember Bobby said in his autobiography that his scouts found him the gems and he polished them. Similar relationship here, nothing wrong with it, if it works.
  5. Still convinced Warnock will be the next signing. I'm sure i read in one of the papers that Blackburn had given up hope of keeping him and that they were planning on signing George McCartney (i think) as a replacement. I do believe we are in for Saviola and Tiago but they could be touch and go.
  6. Diamond will never work i'm afraid, which is what that formation looks like. This perhaps; Guthrie Butt Jonas Saviola Owen Martins

    Saviola on loan?

As much as Owen is good player for us it wouldn't suprise me if KK decided to get rid.

    Saviola on loan?

Type of player i can see KK making into a real star.

    Saviola on loan?

Absolutely. In theory if we signed Warnock, Saviola and Tiago, it would be arguabley the most productive window out of all the teams. That's a big IF mind.
  10. More like: Given Beye Taylor Coloccini Warnock Butt Guthrie Milner Jonas Saviola Martins
  11. Saviola would be a great addition, very similar to Owen of old i believe. Him and Martins would scare the shit out of defences with their pace.
  12. Warnock, Tiago and Saviola at a guess.
  13. Such a unique player. Rarely do you find a winger that has pace, power, height, passing ability and a thirst for a tackle as much as that. My only slight worry is that he doesn't look like a goalscorer, but he offers so much.
  14. Ratings; Given- 7 Did everything he had to and justified his selection. Beye- 7 Looked after Giggs and Evra Taylor- 8 Won everything, can't be faulted. Coloccini- 7 Neat and tidy, good debut. N'Zogbia- 6 Never really influenced the game, decent at the back Milner- 7 Worked his socks off for the team, rarely lost possestion Butt-5 Not sure how he got MOM tbh. Guthrie- 7 Never lost the ball, very excited by this lad. Jonas- 9 Don't need to say a thing. Duff- 6 Not great but can't fault effort and again rarely lost the ball for us. Martins- 7 Fed on scraps but got his goal.
  15. Agree, Guthrie's been our best player alongside Jonas imo. His set pieces are quality as well, great corner he put in for Martins there. Coloccini looks solid as well, good in the air and strong as anything. Proud as anything with the performance, went crazy when the goal went in, awesome stuff. We look a tad blunt going forward but that's to be expected against the best defence in the country I guess and we've been excellent in maintaining possession. Really chuffed, just hope it continues. Agree about Guthrie, looks like a young Scholes on the ball.
  16. Bloody good teamwork from the lads, half time report; Given- 8 Kept us in it early on Beye- 7 Fairly solid against Evra Coloccini- 7 Worked his way into the game Taylor -7 Not done anything wrong Zoggy- 6 Not been in game much Milner- 6 Worked hard Butt-7 Same as above Guthrie- 8 Dictating the play for us, bargain on this 45 Jonas-8 Working his socks off defensively, skinned Rooney Duff- 6 Looks better on the ball, spritely Martins- 7 Always sniffing, took his chance So far very impressed. Shutting the media up.
  17. Keegan never fails to amaze me. The guy is motivation machine. I get the feeling the players will go out there with nothing to lose. Decent team selection. Good as chance as any to get something here. C'mon the boys.
  18. I actually reckon there's little or no pressure on him today, contrary to popular opinion. As long as he does the simple things right, he won't put any pressure on himself.
  19. Given Beye Taylor Coloccini N'Zogbia Butt Guthrie Milner Jonas Duff Martins vs Van der Sar Brown Ferdinand Vidic Evra Carrick Scholes Fletcher Giggs Rooney Campbell If our midfield can keep Scholes and Giggs quiet, then we can cut their supply line to Rooney (their main threat) and it will give us a great chance.

    Sunday Gossip

Almost creamed my pants reading this. The best goalscorer in the world, would add a massive punt of ££££ to Big Mike's wallet. Would fit nicely in the club's plans to make us a "world club" as well, as he is well known and admired all over. No chance for two reasons. 1. Van Nistelrooy is valueable to Real, he's their main striker. 2. I can't see him wanting to move here for various reasons. However, if this is true, it's nice to see us going for this sort of player.
  22. Yes been thinking this all summer. I mean Man Utd haven't signed anyone of signifcance, Arsenal have signed Nasri, Chelsea have two. The only "real" big spenders have been spurs and perhaps Villa. The likes of City, Blackburn, Everton, Pompey haven't spent much. If anything we have made more significant signings than them, although we do need to.
  23. Take Smith out put N'zogbia on left and Milner up top I think he's saying what he expects not what he would do.
  24. Just want a good performance. If we go there look fairly solid, industrious and create a few openings i will be happy. Can't expect a win but what i do expect, in KK's words is to "have a go". Oba would make a massive difference but if Smith plays then the same applies, lets go there, give them a game and come out with our heads held high.
