It'll be just a matter of time before Bruce is playing Carroll and Joelinton together up front and lumping it forward Burnley style
-
He's really moved quickly in getting deals 'over the line' All his signings
-
Bruce won't know how to help him improve his finishing or how best to use him and he'll finish up on the bench
-
Mike Ashley is a gambler, he's won a lot and will lose a lot but that's the way he operates. His plan regarding transfers, picking up young talent cheaply from abroad and seeing their value increase could actually work. Problem is for it to work he needs a good coach/manager to handle and develop these players. Look at HBA, an incredible talent but Pardew couldn't handle or develop him and neither could Bruce when he went to Hull. My niece is a season ticket holder at Aston Villa and she says Bruce brought in some good players but basically didn't know how best to use them and they finished up being benched. That could well happen to Almirion if he fails to score early on in the season and loses his confidence

How are we playing
-
I think Bruce will do okay in his first season, like Pardew, Martinez etc. It's when they start to mold the team their way that it all goes to shit because they just aren't capable. Rafa built a good solid side, good system, and was only a couple of players short of being regular top half of the table. Anyone half decent taking over this squad would do okay
-
Think we'll be on the wrong end of a few hammerings and probably go down on GD
-
Shearer reckons Rafa was worth 15 points a season. I reckon Dubs is worth 12, so if he goes that's 27 points less next season so relegated by Xmas. Well done Mike
-
He'll probably sell NUFC to Sports Direct for about £600mil then he profits both ways
-
Bruce didn't want him but had the last word' Ah okay then'
-
He's not a number 9, more of a 10 really playing right hand side
-
He will never sell unless forced too by problems with parts of his other empire. Now that we have Super Steve at the helm it's all on the up. Steve proved today that we don't need any new signings, new dawn for Colback and Lazaar and others. All Rafa would have done would have been to spend lots of Mikes money on players we don't need. I also thought that Pep looked terrified watching our performance today, could see a big threat to retaining his title. Joking aside, I have a gut feel that Bruce will fluke a decent finish this season just as Pardew did. And just like Pardew he won't understand how he did it
-
Hearing comments by Moncur watching training and about how Bruce has them doing some 'old fashioned running'. I would imagine we will be back to getting some old fashioned injuries due to his training. We were blessed with the lack of injuries during Rafa's tenure because of the technical way he assesses and trains players individually to avoid injuries. That alone got us a few extra points a season
-
Having the last say on transfers is very different to signing players of your choice. Charnley says 'We've got 2 players here who you can have Steve' Steve says 'No I don't want either of them' Charnley says' Fucking do without then' That is how Steve will have the last say

If Bruce had even half a brain his approach to the situation should be along the lines of..........'I can fully understand how disappointed everyone must be about Rafa leaving. He is a great, proven manager but his leaving had nothing to do with me and I am not to blame in any way. I have been appointed to do a job and I will do that to the best of my ability and hopefully carry on the with the great work that Rafa has done here'
-
I think Redfearn and Dawson would be as good, if not better than Bruce. If the team do reasonably in this Asia thing they'll get the job
-
I am desperate to somehow ween myself off all things NUFC. They have always been a part of my life and I just want Ashley and Sports Direct United to crumble
-
Ashley is doing everything he can to spite the geordie fans. He will be laughing his cock off because it will not affect his income from the club one little bit
-
John Carver says he's a good fit, has a good record in the PL and has his support...............That must be worth something
-
If you were a manager and were offered the NUFC job surely your your first port of call would be to contact Rafa and get an insight as to what you may encounter
-
Rafa worked hard with this lad on an almost daily basis, having him train with the first team and constantly talking and advising him. If not for Rafa he would still be an unknown reserve team player.
-
I always thought that to be a good manager you needed to be a good manager not a nice bloke with a geordie accent. I actually despise Bruce more than Pardew and Joe Kinnear rolled into one. Apart from the money, and I doubt he'll be on top whack to come here, where is the incentive. He is a serial failure, and now an Ashley arse hole licker and the majority of our fans hate him. Does he really believe that he is going to be the knight in shining armour coming to the rescue of our club and winning the support of the fans
-
I love NUFC, I love this forum and all the banter but I am trying very hard to hate it all, give it all up and if they appoint Bruce it will be a great step towards walking away............after 70 bloody years!!!!!!!!!!
-
It was Rafa who approached Ashley
-
I absolutely can't stand the guy. Always leaves teams worse off than when he arrived or relegated
