  1. Taylor is crap. He just lacks quality and composure. He makes quite a few last minute lunges at people and gets away with it quite often so some people think he's good. If he read the game better and intercepted more he wouldn't need to dive in so much. Where was he for the goal??? a last minute lunge which didn't come off
  2. Pay up Ameobis contract and get him out, he's a liability, sell Smith for £3.50 if we can get it. Milner has now perfected his crossing of the ball and taking corners, hits the first defender EVERY time now. On a positive note, Guthrie was impressive and so was the new guy on the left, popped up all over the pitch, good on the ball and one hell of a work rate, looks strong too.

    Tony Green

One of the best players ever for us, I was at Crystal Palace the day he was injured, no tackle involved, he just turned and then dropped to the ground in agony. No one anywhere near him.
  4. Who would you rather play for, Man U or Real Madrid. Real is every players dream, they may not currently be the top team but in terms of the most attractive club, location, massive money and superstar status guaranteed there is no choice. Manchester is a shit hole, Ronaldo has proved his worth, reached as high as he could ever go with Man U so time to move on. Who's to say that Fergie/Glazers big bluff about he's going nowhere is just part of the plan to up the price
  5. Mort always conducted himself in a professional manner and acted with dignity. Quite a contrast to his predecessor, good luck to the man
  6. That Sap Blatter bloke or what ever they call him, (the fifa president or something) actually summed the situation up spot on. He wants a limit on foreigners in the EPL etc, because, "Most of the money comes from the Champions league, this year we had 4 English teams in the quater finals, 3 in the semi finals and now we have an all English final. All that is happening is that the rich are getting richer and making it impossible for other teams to break through" That is what Keegan is saying. Because of the success of the big 4 in the champions league they are getting more and more money pumped into them and so the gap widens even further. Without an Abramovich type throw 600mil at it no one will break into that top four. What was the Chelsea subs bench worth on Saturday? As much as our team I think or even squad. Until the playing field is levelled a bit it will only get worse. Ashley needs to understand that.
  7. I'd be the first one to admit if I was wrong but I have never ever been wrong................... Apart from a couple of failed marriages Smith was a good signing. Butt was finished Owen was knackered Oba had no composure Viduka was crap Gerami was finished Sam would tiurn this club around........etc..etc..etc After following this club for 50 years you'd think I might learn something
  8. 23 shots at goal and 14 corners...whate a difference a KK makes
  9. On a positive note, we have had more shots at goal today than SA could muster in the whole time he was here
  10. Posts like this add fuel to the fire. The Keegan brand of football is already 5 times as good to watch as that served up by Sam, the winning will come soon
  11. This season we have seen nothing of the Martins of last season, explosive pace and a shot like a bullet. Remember the one against Spurs last season? incredible. Keegan will play to his strengths and not try and make him into a right midfielder. We played very well with 2 little guys up front in Beardo and Cole and we can do it again. Play Martins and Owen with Viduka on the bench if we need to change it a bit. Ameobi and Smith I'd be happy to never see again
  12. Did Zoggy sign for us exclusively as a left winger or did he sign to be a member of the team/squad? Personally, if he wants to go to Spurs let him. He's full uf hustle and bustle and running but lacks composure and vision. Has an attitude problem as well. KK will build his new side with people who pass the ball quickly and effectively, Zoggy may not fit the bill. Get rid of him in a deal bringing Bent and Defoe to us.
  13. I think he is pissed off at not being offered the Newcastle job and these latest remarks are him spitting his dummy out. I read one article which says there is bad blood between him and KK. Goes back to Shearers testimonial when he asked KK to play. KK said he couldn't because he was on holiday in Florida with his family. The report said that Shearer was annoyed and has not spoken to Keegan since.

    Kevin Keegan

I said it would be a mistake for him to come back but now that it's happened I'm thrilled to bits and excited. It would be a dream come true if he could finish the job he started. For those who think that this is a lousy move by Ashley, just think, he is a business man and appointing Keegan is a commercial masterstroke, the coffers will be swelled to bursting point
  15. While he has no managerial experience, he is the only man I know who could handle the passion and be given instant respect. Unless you live, or have lived in the area and been a part of the experience, you could never ever understand what it is like to be a part of this club. Sam had a lot of experience but he was completely overwhelmed by the Newcastle experience and just couldn't handle it. Roy Keene had no experience but he has taken his team from the relegation area of the championship to the premiership. Redknapp says that he is a fantastic manager and will go all the way. We've had experienced managers, even a hard man like Souness could not handle the passion and was eventually destroyed. Keeping the dressing room right, having a relationship with us and understanding what it is all about, for me there is only one man.
  16. Shearer should cut a deal with Ahley like 'I'll take over until the end of the season for nothing' that would take all of the pressure of him in terms of failure and give him a look at the job. All winners no losers
  17. The comments on Sky text by the Spurs Chairman/owner who is a big pal of Ashleys, summed it up. He said that 'mike has spent 250 mil on NUFC and he came here with a plan. That plan was to bring to Newcastle what he and the fans wanted, good attacking football. Sam wasn't appointed by Mike but he thought okay, lets see if he can deliver what we want' He went on to say that when Mike makes up his mind anout something he doesn't hang around. I was shocked at the sacking but to be honest, the football served up by Sam was some of the worst I have ever endured. One shot at goal against Derby sums it up. As far as comments about us not being in any trouble and 11th place is not bad is a joke. With the squad that we have they should manage 11th place without a manager. I am trying not listen to all of the crap that's flying around in the media. I keep telling myself that Ashley already has the man in his pocket who he wants.
  18. It could be that arrogant little bastard from Celtic.
  19. I thought that Faye was outstanding, Alan Smith had no impact on the game whatsoever, apart from giving away one of his trademark free kicks on the edge of our box. Nothing wrong with the result either. If that match had come anytime during the last 3 seasons we would have been steamrollered out of it.
  20. I know it's not great but we must stick with it. Watching last nights game I thought we had improved from a month ago. There was very little hoofing the ball up the middle as before, in fact the first half we played some decent football. Sadly it breaks down around their penalty box. We are crying out for someone with the craft of Solano or the direct running of Dyer. Our midfielders just don't seem to get past our front men. In terms of Sams 'bad buys' I tend to disagree. Some of them are good, the biggest disappointment to me has been Barton. I thought at the time that he could be a great signing. Alan Smith gets lots of stick and I think that as a midfielder he is crap. As a striker he is marginally better but hasn't scored a premiership goal for about 2 years, says it all really. Oh by the way, didn't Ferguson also buy him, nobody gets it right every time
  21. Big Sam needs time. He has come into a club like no other on the planet. Of course he is using his Bolton methods, they worked for him there. He is learning very quickly that life as NUFC manager has different demands. Give him time and he will slowly adjust to the needs and in the meantime build some solid foundations for the years to come. Okay, some of his signings don't seem to be working yet but Wenger and Ferguson don't get it right every time either. On the positive side, 'Is Faye better than Bramble? Is Beye better than Carr?' Zoggy was was on his way out of the door also. It is about building a side, not buying one like Chelsea then being burdened with £260 million of debt for the forseeable future.
  22. It should be remembered that Sam has brought in several players who have not played in the Premiership before. Sometimers it can take a season to adjust and they must be given time. It will take most of the season for Sam to wash out the old crap and start to bring some stability. Incidentally, one thing does bother me, how is it that we seem to be so often beaten by 'wonder goals' like yesterday, like Derby, like reading etc. It happens to us more often than other teams and I just wonder if Given may not be quite good enough. I know he's a great shot stopper but I have always thought that he is not quite big enough, doesn't command his box and gets beaten an awful lot from distance
  23. I wonder if Big Sams super duper computer programme that produces all the statistics tell him how many times we thump the ball up the middle from our own half. I'd love to know that figure.
