    TRAGIC NEWS

Big Sam has blocked a move by Glen Roeder to take Ameobi on loan. Sam said "Shola is going nowhere, he is very much a part of my plans" etc................ Oh shit

    Tim Krul

He's getting a hell of a lot of practice and managing to keep the scores in single figures. The defence in front of him is attrocious, no better than your average Sunday morning pub teams
  4. Things don't change overnight. Some people have short memories regarding what we had 3 months ago, a defence studded with stars like Ramage, Babyaro, Bramble, Taylor, Carr to name but a few. The players brought in have never played together and Sam is still in the trying out stage to see what works best.
  5. It puts our season in perspective when you look at the tables, We are only 6 points ahead of Fulham and Fulham have only won 2 games from 12 starts. That's how good we are, and, soon we travel to Fulham

    Joey Barton

He needs to play CM not on the right. I think he still needs another couple of games to get to full fitness. I think Sam is playing him anywhere just to get games under his belt
  7. Wants to sign Shearer apparently
  8. What we see on the pitch is Sams end product. For that end product to be good it must be made up of good ingredients. The work needed to put those ingredients in place will take time and in the meantime we will have lots of ups and downs. There was nobody more pissed off with the last couple of results than me but sometimes teams learn more from a defeat than a victory.
  9. Play Rozehnal in front of the back four. Reads the game well and can step forward to support midfield.
  10. Within 2 years, probably less, Owens place in the England side will have gone to Walcott. Thing is with Owen, give him a chance and he has a high success rate, what he doesn't do is create much himself. He needs a Hesky/Crouch to feed off
  11. It was interesting to hear how Harry approached the game. "We need to get into them early and make a good start. We play with an extra man in CM and wanted to dictate in that area. This would force Newcastle to pull a wide man in to the middle and force them to change their tactics. We'd worked on it all the week and it worked like a dream" The problem seems to me that we don't dictate games and spend too much time worrying about the opposition. A good, quick, strong, powerful CF would make a difference. I think we are just too light in that area given our style of play
  12. The problem is that these days it is just too risky to play for a 0-0 result. Because of the pace the game is played at and changes in the structure of the footballs now being used, you are always likeley to get hit with a sucker punch from 30 or 40 yards out (as against Derby) and the team you have put out can't switch to all out attack. The amount of stunning goals we now see are becoming commonplace and no defence will stop them. The only way to defend is to defend in the opponents half and to keep them in their own half means that you need to be attacking them
  13. How come Roeder hasn't been linked with any of these prem jobs, has he got another job somewhere?
  14. In addition to the games already posted, I was at Jackie Milburns testimonial, saw Tom Finney, Puskass (can't remember how to spell it) People who are not from the North East can never understand the depth of feeling we have for the club. Even though I now live in Scotland and have not lived in Newcastle for over 30 years, I still refer to Newcastle as home
  15. Home to Man City, early 50's. I think there wa about 50000 people there. Lots of great games over the years, I was there when we won the Fairs Cup in 1969, tears rolling down my cheeks. Malcolm MacDonalds debut against Liverpool when he scored a hat trick. The atmosphere was incredible
  16. Fucked his brains out with the prostitutes in North London
  17. There is no doubt that it was Keegan. Newcastle were dubbed 'The entertainers' and it was them who put Sky football on the map and set them on the road to where it is today. Everyone in the country loved to watch them, the runs that Albert made from defence to attack was something never ever seen before and I've seen nothing like it since. It was a whisker from perfect football. It has been said by many of the TV pundits that if KK had won the premiership that year it would have changed the whole face of football. Other managers would have felt that to beat them and win the league they would need to build even more attacking sides. The mind boggles
  18. Roeder could bring back the flair to Chelsea. I can hear him now "Glen Roeder is a winner, Glen Roeders teams play good attacking football" If they can't get him Souness is available
  19. That is as bad as anything I saw under Souness. Ameobi.....Not good enough at this level, just a long streak of piss with a yellow line down his back. Wouldn't frighten a canary with a can of gas. Taylor.............(as a RB) not good enough at this level Smith............(as a midfielder) not good enough, no creativity. Milner...........not good enough at this level Zoggy........ playing at LB just doesn't give you the full benefit of his skills Owen.....good to see that he is fit as a lop for England but too shagged to play 90 minutes for us Geremi and Butt......both good defensive midfielders but against teams like Derby and home games it should be one or the other. We did not have one ounce of creativity out there tonight. I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED AND PISSED OFF BY THE RESULT AND THE PERFORMANCE
  20. Agree with Ronaldo. Taylor is far from being a class act and a long way from being the complete player. The only thing in his favour is the position he plays, centre backs tend to mature a little later so maybe he has time..........................or maybe not
  21. Sam said when he arrived at the club that his priority was the defence and to stop us from leaking goals, I think he has already gone some way towards addressing that problem. Clean sheets brings confidence and I was quite happy with the result yesterday. Villa were extremely well organised and a lot of teams will struggle to break them down
  22. Big Sam has totally transformed our squad and spent less money than Roeder. Just shows what a tosser he was
