  1. Actually thought Dummett had a chance to get back a little quicker for the goal, probably a little harsh but he looked to be strolling behind Elliott and had a chance to how himself between Deeney and the goal.
  2. BBC commentary via radio Newcastle on their website - no online restrictions in uk
  3. Thauvin for Dummet then a 4-3-3 would have been the only changes I would have liked from that. All about attitude now - we had a strong enough team against Cardiff 2 years ago but you could see that the instruction had been to coast in that game
  4. Can easily see a situation where a decision doesn't get referred to a video ref or replay but is subsequently shown as being incorrect resulting in a team suing the FA. If its brought in then it needs to (a) be used for every decision and (b) be foolproof. Take our game against Everton - Lukaku had the last touch before the corner which led to the winner, an incorrect corner could result in us being relegated (from a lawyers eyes you'd disrgard the other 37 games and 89 minutes and focus on that one incorrect decision). The powers that be would be stupid to bring something in that opens them up to this
  5. It was the airport and hotel saga for me. Anyone that mental deserves to be loved
  6. He'll start on sat, it's only the FA cup after all.
  7. Watch him closely, he only shows when there are no opposition players nearby at which point he can receive a ball in a safe place. Stop it dead, shift to his left foot and roll it to Dummett. Whenever the ball is moving forward or other players are nearby the runs he makes are into areas where he can't be passed to, so it looks like he's looking for it but is actually hiding in clear daylight. See also Jenas, J.
  8. Goals like that send you down. 3pts on Monday an absolute must
  9. That's still too close to the first 11
  10. Jordan, Geordie. Close enough it must be a sign
  11. Always thought 6 was definitely centre half alongside either a 4 or 5.
  12. I'm sure we've seen this pattern before - a load of fist pumping Alan Pardew is great stories in the press followed by a humping pile of shit form. January is going to be a long month for palace fans
  13. Me too! I reckon a lot of teenage keepers in the mid 90s did the white sock look. Had Reusch gloves because of him as well. Friggin love the bloke
  14. In the match thread I made a post about how deliberate every action is with these 2 - it really is like they turned up to the first lesson in how to control a ball, make it stop then make a deliberate push on the ball to pass it. They do this brilliantly by the way. The problem is that they have never progressed from this. You can probably count on one hand the number of moving balls Dummett his hit this season, and still have enough fingers on the same hand to count the number of first time passes Colback has made. They are the type of player who will always be in a relegation battle due to the negative impact they have on the rest of the team, but will be looked at as good pros to have in a relegation fight as they are used to that environment. Football really baffles me at times
  15. I'd love to sit down with Mclaren and watch a passage of play on TV between Colback and Dummett then ask him exactly what he sees in them which makes them anywhere near Premier League players
  16. Pull through Pav - the man is the reason I was a keeper. loved the bloke as a player and always comes across as a 100% genuine guy
  17. Why stop the game there though? I'd be spitting if it was a villa player down
  18. Colback and dummet are so painful. Everything is so slow and deliberate with them on the ball - it's like they've never progressed from how you are first taught to pass a ball
  19. I'd rather stuff them 6-0 every year then see them relegated. For all we know they may have a fantastic year in the Championship and bounce straight back up but an annual drubbing is more satisfying I'll save the relegation wants for Pardew, Fat Sam, Liverpool, Pullis first.
  20. Depends on your perspective of what you want from a business. He's completely decimated a proud "brand" and replaced it with a window for his tat emporium. I feel like NUFC was absolutely ripe to be taken to the next level as a football club, and he just took all that potential and flushed it down the drain. That's not great business from where I'm sitting. He's destroyed a number of brands by slapping them on cheap tat that he sells in his emplorium of tat. But SD (the brand owner and ultimate business of MA) continues to go from strength to strength. So in that regard he has done 100% the right thing for the interests of SD. Now how much additional profit would NUFC raised with investment and selling advertising space have made compared to what his approach has made for SD - only if the potential of NUFC was greater (and ultimately realised) would the approach taken be the wrong one. Unfortunately for MA, he has done the right thing business wise for his entire portfolo
  21. 2,5 I'll leave the rest to Taylor and Elliott
  22. Biggest question is what the hell is Schteve doing to the girl in front of him
