I doubt the CEO is involved other than agreeing the budget. his role should be to make sure others are doing their jobs properly

I wish the kid no ill will at all but it would be hilarious on Palace if he has an injury hit campaign

Not saying it’s a deliberate ploy at all, but the failure of this window to land a high profile expensive target plays into his hands for a change in approach going forward

He’s missed that boat now

I think the summer as a whole has let the management team down. To me backing would have been an offer, negotiation and a second final offer before moving on to the second choice if we can’t afford the first. Not playing around the edges with structures for weeks. We can afford him or not.

I said around Easter time that come the end of the season they had to make a decision to back Howe or sack him. The club appear to have done neither but they/we have to be behind him for the season and if it goes wrong change things then.

And there would be no shame if Eddies peak was the 4th place season and he wasn’t able to evolve the team to the next level. there are very, very few managers who would be able to take a team at the low ebb he did, transform that to a team securing safely and then some, then take this on to champions league qualification and then push on again. And then add in the usual PSR restrictions….

no, longstaff has done his ACL

Of say with a limit to spending but there is cash there and there is a serious disjoin in the decision making process

Or at least take her around the back door -
That’s a nice shirt mind

Does anyone ever buy a decent backup keeper? Its seems more like they get a young keeper who comes good or they buy a first choice and the previous number 1 drops down

Yankuba Minteh (now playing for Brighton & Hove Albion)

There’s also no guarantee that he’d have got the opportunities to show what he could do in the premier league with us. likely trajectory was another loan and probably a sale next summer. bit like Gordon wouldn’t be the same player if he’d stayed at Everton -
I guess most would be OK if we landed Chiesa on loan in the last week of the window? Seems like the sort of loan deal that drops late in the window, either him or one of the Barca lads. I'd rather spend on a CB and loan a RW than the other way round, stability is more important at the back. Could also see Trafford coming in and being loaned straight back for a season unless the powers that be think there is a good chance of Marmalade coming in next summer

Stick one of them left forward and Gordon to the right. sorted

I think we would have grown into the game with 11 and the end result would have been near enough 50:50 possession with us coming out 2-0 winners. It was however a bit of a repeat of the second half of last season where we started a few games very poorly and needed to grow into them. We need to get that switch on from the whistle to get the best from Howes philosophy and style of play. It will come

And our Greek god was £100m (well it seemed to be increasing by the day so why not), so the £200m has been met
