Newcastle United vs. Bournemouth: 17/2/24 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

Seems a little unfair that red cards carry over but not yellows -
we’ve got a manager who is averse to playing people until they are fully acclimatised, so you miss the best part of quarter of a season. Most loans happen late in the window so you lose the pre season build as well which we know Howe values

Some big games tomorrow and next weekend for the teams around us. Nothing nailed on for any of them, then we have Eddie’s baby at home
-
5 of them would start, but it's only Willock and Tonali from the outfield 10 that I think would make a huge difference this weekend. Wilson is better than fine upfront, we don't know how well a Barnes/Gordon wing combo would be and Moggy/Murph again are serviceable in a good team You're not going to have Big Joe, Willock, Tonali, Bruno in the same team if one of Gordon or Barnes is fit It's back to bench strength again more than first 11

Forest will take them to court if they get a points deduction. There is a clear argument for the rules as they stand preventing them from operating within a transfer window and getting the best deal for the club. i can’t see Everton having such a clear argument and they are likely to watch and support Forest. oh and Forest clearly have an owner who is only too happy to stick 2 fingers up at the rules -
I think most of us would have taken Poch before his Chelsea stint. in a world where Eddie leaves at the end of the season would we still take him or is he damaged goods in the same way Potter and Tommy T are? not asking would you take him over Eddie, just in that hypothetical. im totally unsure, I think I’d rather the exec team look outside the premier league but he is a very good coach

Newcastle United 4-4 Luton Town (03/02/24) | Reaction: pg40
Colos Short and Curlies replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
I still don't quite get what happened after we scored our 4th. Foot on the peddle for another 10 mins and we'd have got 5 or 6. Instead we seemed to fall back in to 'it will come' territory. Probably looking at Luton/Forest having taken 10 points from us after Saturday, that's almost a quarter of their combined points so far. -
At Real or Chelsea?

if he’s smart he’ll hang on for 12 months then take the Real job.

It would only work if you had someone with no or very little value left on the balance sheet. although in theory you could do a £100m sale either way -
Looking at that I'd be disappointed with less than 24

He's out of contract in the summer isn't he? May be as much giving him a chance to get another deal elsewhere if we don't see a future for him here
-
How can the medical be tomorrow if the deadline is tonight? They signing him taking the risk that he passes or something? Oh hang on, its Spurs so obv the window closing doesn't apply to them until Saturday

Financial Fair Play / Profit & Sustainability
Colos Short and Curlies replied to Mattoon's topic in Football
Understandably we concentrate on the impact FFP has on our ability to buy/grow/compete but it will be interesting to see if there is a knock on impact from this window, and then the summer if it is also quiet, on the sustainability of lower league clubs. Trickle down may be an awful concept, but it does happen in football, if premier league clubs aren't paying £15-£20m for a couple of championship players this will really slow the whole money flow down the pyramid. Basically doing the exact opposite that the press release for it claimed it would do -
I'm sure I read that they were selling Mangala

Maybe that's when we see Hall and find out he is a regen of Shearer
