Newcastle v Notts Forest - 19:45 Monday 29/03/10 Pre-match thread.

Lovenkrands, Smith, Shola & Enrique should all be available for this one. Probably Williamson too, I imagine he was kept back for this one. -
Bets on Carroll using Tim Cahill's celebration if he scores tonight?

When our team is lining up tomorrow we're going to look like those special classes at school who have to wear mittens to stop them scratching the fuck out of each other

What a fucking awful day this is

Yet he took pens on his right. Cock.

Official website reckons Shola started training yesterday. Assume that means he'll be in contention for Doncaster on Tuesday but this game will be too soon. Also says Smith is expected to miss the trip to Bristol City. I realised now I don't particularly hate Hull. I hate Fagan and Brown but one's too shit to care about and the other's on the dole and orange, and as Hull are riddled with debts even if they stay up they'll be down there again next season. From an NUFC point of view I'd much rather Wigan, Bolton or even West Ham (who have decent players at least) went down than that set of shite.

What a shower of shit they were. Their keeper made some good saves then he'd spill an easy cross, weird game all in all. Declared after half an hour and still scored one more at walking pace - Guthrie's pass for the third goal was fantastic. Hall and Coloccini were impeccable most of the evening, everyone else did the necessary. Except Leon Best, he's really not very good. Real battle now comes at Bristol City on Saturday when we need to actually pass the ball and not just hoof it all day. We'll see.

A certain youth player's Dad told a certain member of this forum it had happened. Just saying like..

The 10 Keegan games aside - he also showed his talent under Kinnear vs Villa and WBA. Two games we both won and he played a big part in it. he had 2 or 3 really good game sunder keegan (could be as much that the whole team played well) the rest of the games he played OK but looked better as it was a massive improvement on his previous form. I'd go along with that assessment. Similarly he's being compared here to his purple patch at Man City when he was the only one who did anything for them for 6 months.

The 10 Keegan games aside - he also showed his talent under Kinnear vs Villa and WBA. Two games we both won and he played a big part in it. Against Villa Barton was shite for 45 minutes, only in the 2nd half did he pick up. Against WBA our centre midfield of Guthrie and Barton got overrun for the most part of the game and we were lucky to win.

He couldn't pass a ball 5 yards in the opening few games of the season, although I think he was playing with an injury. He's shown his ability in about 10 games under Keegan, the rest of the time he's looked a state.
-
I think we should hold off until the Doncaster game on the 23rd, we're on TV on Saturday and Barton loves being a cock on the telly

A mars pie eh? That's my dinner for tomorrow sorted.

Geremi was a close 2nd if the voting was as ridiculous as player of the year.
-
The Milan vice-President said they'd have him back next year but I don't know if he'd still have the motivation at 35 - what else can he accomplish realistically, why run the risk of getting another serious injury when he can play in the back garden field with the kids?
-
They mentioned on SSN that Ian Rush got his start there. Surely he could have stumped up some cash for them? I guess the problem is that the debts were probably out of control and there'd be a similar bill the next month, and so on.

Been wound up today

This show is just utter shit. What I have seen this evening: A bald man insult an ex-footballer for being fat Two ex-footballers wearing yellow masks A thick cunt who wears a monkey suit for a living being blow dried About 1 minute of football action Some more fatman banter Some kick ups with a rugby ball A lengthy discussion about video technology, whoop de doo. And finally some good banter about the ex-pros dodgy feet. Class. Fuck off and see you next week you annoying shitbag.

Has he ever played Luke Young at centre back and Cuellar at right back? It wouldn't shock me.

I was actually thinking before how knackered your squad would be if you were still in Europe now. O'Neill might actually have had to play fullbacks on occasion.
