i know one thing we are going to have to be looking at Bargain buys, Bosmans etc as can't see us spending big money on transfers, i'm sure i read something that when Chopra went back to Cardiff on loan is was a loan deal with a view to a £4m transfer! Can you see us paying £4m for Chopra? Also seen Joe Ledleys name mentioned in this thread, Stoke had a £6-7m bid knocked back in january, so can't see us matching that!
-
we'll need a hell of an injury crisis to see Spear or Adjei feature. Edgar should be offered a new deal this week before he's snapped up by somone on a free. Godsmark has already been released.

''Xisco, for example, is believed to have a six-year contract worth £50,000 a week.'' Really? Xisco, Jonas and Colocini are both under contract to 2013, not sure what wages both are on though.

Think it'll be time for Carroll, Kazenga, Kadar, Tozer, Ranger to be brought into next years team or certainly on the edges of it, whether or not the likes of Inman, Tavernier and Vukcic are still on the young side is another thing, may still be a year for them to break into a team and league as physical as the championship.

Nothing to do with friends or co workers but i'm watching the premier league darts final live from wembley and a crowd of 6000 are all singing the Cheer up Alan Shearer song!!
-
Can't see why Spurs would want him when they got Bent, Defoe and Keane who are all better then Oba and Man City will be looking for strikers much better than him as well.
-
can't think of any Newcastle players called Eddie Lister, definately didn't play in the 90's

in my opinion Krul is already better than Harper. Ideally if you put the 3 keepers strengths together it would work out as... Build - Forster Experience - Harper Shot stopping - Krul Kicking - Krul Handling - Krul Agilty - Krul Awareness - Krul
-
That news has me worried, i've already heard rumours that Feyenoord are planning to come back in for Krul this summer, I would be devastated if in the space of 6 months NUFC lose Given and Krul and are left with Harper and Forster. For all Forster may have improved in the last 18 months and is a very good shot stopper he's not anywhere near Krul's class. Think Shearer quickly worked that one out as well as he quickly had Krul as the sub keeper once he arrived whereas Krul & forster were taking turns beforehand.

Think some of the stick that Butt gets are this forum is way over the top and isn't as bad as some make out, problem i see is that as we have such as poor midfield Butt is trying to do too much, ideally he should be there sitting in front of the back 4, breaking up play and giving it too players who can do something with the ball....therein lies the problem as our team as ZERO creativity and as a result Butt gets it and looks poor when trying passes that the likes of Hoddle in his prime would struggle to pull off.

Anybody watching this, Arsenal v Liverpool, just over an hour gone and Arsenal winning 4-1, brilliant match, Arsenal are fantastic and Jack Wiltshire absolute class. I would be much more confident of NUFC getting the right result on Sunday if we had the Arsenal youth team midfield!! joy to watch.

Apparently Fergie had told Rio Ferdinand that he MUST prove his fitness against Hull if he wants to be considered for selection for the champions league final, thats excellent news for us, should mean for at least 60 mins we'll have Rio on the pitch.

Not really as shock to be honest, Marwood for whatever reason has hardly featured since xmas, Godsmark isn't good enough and too small/lightweight. Donniger maybe a little unlucky not to get another year, especially after his goalscoring expolits, finished top scorer for the reserves but i did say earlier in the season that he would probably be released as he would block young Inmans progress.

Bad to clap myself...... but Martins is so important that i clap again   Thank's a lot to Glenn R. for bringing him, -And I'll hail Shearer when he developing him. Can't believe your applauding Roeder for signing Oba, Roeder should've took his transfer kitty to Germany and bought Berbatov or Santa Cruz. Take yourself back to that time and look at the situation, we have too replace Shearer and we have a world class striker called Owen, now we can't see into the future so we weren't to know little Michael would barely be fit for the next 3 years BUT you know that he performs better with a big man/target man. 3 top centre forwards are on the market, all internationals, 2 big lads and a little speedy one. Why the hell did Roeder go for Oba? Owen alongside a Berbatov or Santa Cruz would've/could've been a partnership made in heaven.
-
He's spot on, agree with everything he says, i said it at the time that we shouldn't have sold Aaron Hughes, players like him are invaluable, could play anywhere and we virtually gave him away, £1m was terrible business. Never the worlds best player but a solid dependable player, at the time we sold him was a better centre half that Bramble, a better left back than Babayaro and the best right back... We have continued to sell players and replace them with inferior ones....this season sums it perfectly would we be staring relegation in the face if Given was in goal instead of Harper, if Faye was playing and not Colo, if Milner was on the right instead of Taylor and N'Zogbia on the left instead of Jonas???
-
You can be certain that the likes of Van der Sar, Vidic, Ferdinand, Carrick, Rooney and Ronaldo will not even be on the bus to Hull, they will be wrapped in cotton wool for the CL final.
-
If he did he's a even bigger cunt than i thought he was, although suppose nice to know that he knows what he is!
-
Rubbish, when he quit, we'd only played 3 league games, 3 games that had us 4 pts, one point more than most people would've expected, we've played 34 games since then......thats plenty time to get things sorted.
-
yes we had lacked creativity in midfeld but thats not the real problem....selling our best players is. Best keeper in the league virtually given away to the richest club in the world and sold on credit!! unbeliveable Milner, the only right sided midfielder (Geremi doesn't count!) sold and not replaced N'Zogbia, bit of an attitude, player who needed an arm around and loved but he was the best left winger at the club and gave us an attacking outlet on the break with his pace, pace that is severely lacking. Emre sold, only midfielder we had who could create something, not replaced. If Given and Milner were still here we wouldn't be on the brink of relegation.

 Its nuts. They just jump from player to player. One minute Martins is s***, then he scores and he's class. This place has no grey area, we are black and white in our support and our opinions. Bit hypocritical of you Nixon, it was only a few months back you started a thread to savage young Andy Carroll. Regarding Jonas, he's been a major disappointment, yes he works hard but that should be the bare minimum, as a winger/attacking midfield he has too be judged on goals, creating and scoring, he's fails massively on both counts, he was a bad signing as a free transfer, the fact he's cost us over 5m makes it even worse.
-
i'm with Tooj on this one, Keegan rightly walked when his position was made untenable, if you are manager then you need to be making the decisions, after all its your head on the block when/if things go tits up! Decisions were made above his head without his knowledge and as a matter of principal quit, same as Curbishley and what most bosses would do. We were only 3 games into the season, had a decent start so plenty of time to get things "back on track" since KK walked, the fact we haven't lies firmly on the mismanagement of the Ashley regime.
-
yes he's in there to quote George Caulkin as... It is hardly his fault, but there may never have been a bigger, worse signing in the club's history.
-
Enrique though has always shown some ability, desire, strength, passion, energy....everything that Xisco lacks. Also why is there an option to promote him to the 1st team squad? He's been in the 1st team squad from the first day he's been here, he's just not good enough to be selected for the first team, it would be a player like Sammy Ameobi who would get promoted to the first team squad, the likes of Xisco, Carroll and Ranger have been in the first team squad for all or part of the season.
-
it won't be a complete reserve side, Fletcher will be playing cos he's banned the CL final. i can see the team been something along the lines of Foster neville eckersley evans fabio gibson scholes fletcher welbeck macheda nani
-
he hasn't really featured that much in the reserve team, especially not starting games, always in the squad and has come off the bench a few times but has mainly been playing in the academy side. Good player but he's had the likes of the older Donniger & Donaldson in his position. I'd expect him to be playing alot more regularly in next seasons reserve team though.
