    OK Then

For some reason i can see us holding onto Beye my biggest worry is how on earth we are going to rebuild the team and squad on Ashleys business model, the likes of Owen, Viduka, Geremi will be gone for free but thankfully off the wage bill. A team like Everton will be licking their lips at getting their hands on Smith & Duff for knockdown fees and can just imagine Moyes been the type of boss to get them playing like they did before the landed on our doorstep! Unfortunately relegation will also mean that players like Barton, Taylor, Bassong, Martins who could bring in decent funds will also have a couple of million knocked off potential transfer fees. Problem starts with AShley selling on credit but paying in cash, although we will get the first installments on the Milner, Given & n'zogbia deals we won't see the cash from this summers deals, or at least not the full amount. How much will it cost to replace Owen, Viduka, Geremi, Taylor, Bassong, Colocini, Jonas, Duff, Barton, cacapa. may also lose Nolan and Jose and possibly even Harper. I'm not sure Edgar has been offered a new deal yet and could lose him for free but is a player who would do a decent job in the championship. Bearing in mind our squad is too small we would be entering a league which is notoriously tough and playing more games so will need more players than we currently have. We'll be left with a nucleus of players consisting of Harper, Krul(heard he could be off to Feyenoord tho), Forster Ryan Taylor, Beye, Edgar(if signed up), Kadar, Lough, Tozer, Guthrie, Butt, Nolan Shola, Carroll, Xisco, LOvenkrands, lua lua ashley is going to have to release significant funds to build up a suitable squad strong enough to compete in a very tough league, don't know how much the parachute payments are but all of that amount plus the ST money must be invested in the rebuilding programme and whoever the manager is must make some canny loan signings, young players such as Eckersley who was tremendous for Man U's reserves last night and the likes of Mancienne who has been excellent for Wolves would have to come in. WHatever happens whether we stay up or go down, it'll be an interesting summer, we need rebuilding whatever the outcome of this season but it'll be easier if we are still a premier league club.

    U23s & Academy

Enjpyable game tonight, we still have lost some of the spark and energy we had before xmas although maybe tiredness is creeping into the likes of Tavernier & Ranger who are playing Saturdays and mondays and are still just 17. Thought Cacapa was dreadful and reading the comments from people watching on tv suprised Baheng is getting good reviews, didn't think he played well and can't see him as a premier league footballer. I thought Eckersley at the back for them was outstanding, had a great battle with Nile, they kicked lumps out of each other!! One of the best players at reserve level that i've seen this season, if we were to go down this, he's someone i would look to get on loan in the championship!lol Last home game of the season next Monday when we entertain Man City, which should be a cracking match.

can't believe Owen isn't getting a run out, our so called best player and big hope for getting the goals to keep us up has the perfect chance to get some minutes into his legs and get some sharpness back in his game. He should've been the first name on the team sheet, Alan Smith should also be playing, he needs match fitness if he's going to be required to play in the run in as well and where is Edgar, not on international duty as far as i know and he hasn't played much recently.

The likes of Owen, Beye, Guthrie & Nolan should all be made to play against man utd reserves on Monday, they all need the match practice and sharpness, the only one i would maybe let off is Beye after his 60 mins against Arsenal. Owen needs some game time to get his sharpness back, Guthrie has been out for months and needs some time on the pitch and Nolan looks fat & overweight, he was sluggish against Arsenal and 90 mins chasing someone like Gibson or Welbeck could do him some good. my team would be FORSTER BEYE TAYLOR CACAPA LOUGH LUALUA GUTHRIE NOLAN BAHENG OWEN XISCO
  7. i read an excellent book a few years ago called HILLSBOROUGH the Truth. Think it was by paul scraton, really good read. I don't know why cos i really don't like Liverpool or there supporters but for some reason i always pay a visit to the memorial at Anfield when we play them, maybe cos a few months earlier it could easily have been Newcastle fans dying on an overcrowded terrace when we were at White Hart Lane.

    Olly Bernard

yes he was saying the start of NUFC's decline was when Souness arrived. He's right as well. Was a really good read actually, i thought he was a bit of a knob the way he left but can tell he still loves the club. Despite being French and his career is over as settled down back here and about to open a french cafe/restaurant.

    Financial meltdown?

People are also forgetting that our brilliant owner is running on club with a transfer policy different to virtually every club in world football, credit in cash out! How are we expected to rebuild the squad up, whether we go down or stay up, if we are selling players on installments but our signings are been paid in full???
  11. No they were booing Shola coming on, the initial booing started when he stepped out the dugout before the board even went up to say who was coming off. Disgraceful act from so called supporters, i don't care if he's the worst player ever to step foot on St James Park, which he isn't by a long way, YOU DON'T BOO your own players, especially before ther've even stepped onto the bloody pitch, if your not supporting the players then your not supporting the team and if your not supporting the team then what the fuck you doing in the ground????? I'm not a great Shola but that incident sickened me much more than the defeat.

    Obafemi Martins

he is way overated, cant pick a pass, cant trap a ball, wayward shooting, relying on players like him, is getting us relegated. i agree CP his general football skills aren't too good, however he is a threat due to his pace the problem he has tho is he hasn't got any footballing nous/brains, if he gets the ball and has time and then has to think about what he has to do then he normally looks a chamionship player, if he gets the ball quick and plays on instinct then he looks a world beater. He is a scorer of great goals unfortunately what we need is a great goalscorer.

    U23s & Academy

The academy are back in action on Saturday, playing Everton. Kickoff is at 1pm and the game is being played at the first team base of Darsley Park, not the academy. Everton have always had an excellent youth set up so could be a decent match. Could be worth a stop off on the way to the First team game with the first team playing at tea time.
  14. if you mean regularly as in Steven Taylor then i'd say none, the one thats got the most chance isn't on the list as i would be tempted to say Vukcic although i think Kadar is a class act and would be in the team now if he hadn't broke his leg. The list is too big though as you can forget about the likes of Baheng, Danquah, Godsmark, Soderburg and Lough and put a big question mark on Donaldson. Tozer has been crocked all season, i'd send him on loan next season so wouldn't say he'd breakthru, I would have Krul in the team now as he's better than Harper but sadly can see him playing for Feyenoord next season. That leaves Inman, Kaz and Nile, Inman could be a potential star and as we are crap in midfield i hope he fulfils his potential, Nile and Kaz need to get there heads out of the sky and arses out of Tiger tiger and they might have a chance, plenty of ability but have they the heart & desire? At this moment in time i have my doubts.
  15. yes just got back myself, the supporters trust is something i've been keen on for a long time and was happy when Colin originally brought up the idea when NUSC had the initial meeting when it was formed back in October and like i've been saying on here ever since NUSC was set up on that night that that was long term dream/ambition, not the Ashley out stance that this forum keeps bringing back up. Thought there was some good points brought up and full credit for the 2 lads who travelled up to be there and thought Michael Martins speech was tremendous. Now we just have to set the wheels firmly in motion and get the trust up and running, all i say to everyone is get joined up. There were only two lads there? haha not quite, no a lad from the supporters direct group and a bloke from Lincoln who went from being in the Lincoln supporters trust and ended up as chairman of the football club!! Both came up with some interesting stuff although they also waffled on a bit....

i think its to accomadate Danquah and Baheng who aren't good enough and since they've came back in the team has played poorly. Lua should be either on one of the wings and if not out wide playing off the striker, last couple of games Danquah has been wide left and Baheng up front.

    U23s & Academy

Just got back, we were crap, one of the worst performances i've seen from the reserve side in along time. Normally try to play football (sometimes too much) but today just seemed to be launching it long. Everton started brightly and took the lead after earlier hitting the post. Good equaliser from Donninger heading home a peach of a cross from Tavernier, winner came from Ranger who first capitalised on a poor defensive header and then as the keeper charged out, slid the ball past him. I Thought the defence played well, Lough had a good game at centre half, alongside James Taylor. Anyone who thinks Lua Lua could be the answer to our centre mid problems would've found out today that the lad CAN'T play in central midfield, he was very poor and Baheng and Danquah were crap yet again, both nowhere near good enough. Next home game is 2 weeks tonight at SJP against Man U, should be a good one.
  21. seriously worried now? surely you must've been worried before this weekend, we've been looking nailed on for relegation since before xmas and our inactivity in the january window and selling, rather giving our best player away virtually sealed it!!

    A must win game

we have 3 must win games, they're the home games against, Boro, Fulham and pompey, win them and we'll stay up, hopefully we'll pick the odd point up here and there, like today and that should see us scrape home....
  23. Owen's maing more money a week than all Hull players in total? don't talk shite, Bullards on £50k a week!!!!!!!
  24. don't lose whatever we do, an away point isn't that bad, although we do need 3.
