The management see the players in training everyday and can get inside their heads which we cant. Match selection must be influenced by who they deem is going to be most prepared after working with them during the week. If some of them dont seem too bothered about the clubs predicament then that will no doubt influence decisions. I think that in bad situations like we are in good players will be ruled out because they are not prepared right attitude wise whereas lesser players may get in because they seem more up for it. It must be really hard for KK who is critisised so much by others who dont have the insight to how players are in training. Doug.

should never have said it. I cringed when I saw him say that. Shades of KK when he said "Id love it if we beat them". I hope it doesnt come back to haunt him/us. Doug

That would be the FA's proposed 39th fixture to be played abroad. the venue- Fantasy Island. 3 points only maybe v Fulham who can be a very neat passing side themselves when they want to be. Doug.

Only if you find the bit where I used the term "these are rehashed quotes" I will save you the time, you won,t because I never used it. Now isnt that interesting we are witnessing false reporting in action. I rest my case!! Doug Oppps you said "This is old news rehashed by the press" find me the bits in the old news where there were quotes from Taylor. If I follow this correctly you are trying to stick up for the press but trying to nail me for something I didnt say. Where did I say they were old quotes? Are you trying to get a job with the Sunday Mirror by any chance? Doug. I belive Taylor said them things to press yesterday or maybe earlier on the week to local hack Brian McNally. Youe line has been "This is old news rehashed by the press" which I dont think it is. This is brand new information with actual quotes from Taylor about his contract situation. As I made clear above you did not say "old quotes" but you deffo used the pharse "This is old news rehashed". I have went back & copy & pasted you orginal post below to refresh your memory. Also Doug I am not out nail you just seeking to make my point. This is a fascinating debate because it shows how things can be twisted to suit anyones agenda. Yours is a point of principal on detail of a story Mine is looking at the big picture of the malevolence of the press. No offence but its like Im trying to score a goal while you are trying to win a throw in. Doug You and I both want what is best for NUFC but the press

You actually believe that Taylor has gone to the mirror and raised this with them don,t you. Think about it man. reporter corners player, asks if contract is sorted yet, taylor says no, next thing a one word answer becomes a full page crisis article, thats how it works. sometimes they dont even report the one word answer correctly or even bother asking it. The club will be sorting all this out in the summer, hopefully with a premier league players money. No way will player or club be bringing it up right now. Doug. Well, you said they were rehashed quotes, but apparently they aren't. So you've changed tack now. Alex. Can we all do this in future ? Fred. So you don,t believe me. fair enough I couldnt care less. But you believe what you read in the papers, I find that amazing. So if a paper comes out with actual quotes from a player we're supposed to disbelieve them and presume they're made up? We should expect a retraction in next weeks paper and an apology for making the quotes up I take it? I don,t know how long you have been reading papers but they will write absolutely anything to shift copy off the newstands. They will tuck an apology away in a small paragraph somewhere if they are made to, they do it all the time. These are the sort of warped people happy to sell you the line that the Mcanns killed their own daughter for months ffs because it shifted loads of papers so they will have absolutely no qualms over writing bullshit about your football team to do the same. Your naivety is quite staggering, Doug. I think it's your naivety that's staggering, Doug. If you can't see the difference between the papers suggesting the Mcanns killed their own kid because the police were investigating the possibility and a newspaper producing actual quotes from a player then you're an idiot. OK the mcann case is extreme but I dont trust the papers. They really will write anything and dont care whether a "quote " is recent or indeed a paraphrase taken out of context from a leading question designed to provoke a certain response. In other words They will make the "quotes" fit the story they want to print. Doug Doug.

Money talks nowadays more than ever. It can fast track you to the very top. We should have plenty of it if we can preserve our Premiership status. Keegan will know how to spend it and how to motivate the players he buys with it dont worry about that. Doug

Nailed on then.

So what's the answer then, sack him? Howay, you must have an answer. If not shut the f*** up and stop your bitching which is pointless. He's our manager, he's only been here a s*** and a shave, he's inherited one of the worst group of players we've had the misfortune of seeing represent our great club and needs far more than 7 games to turn this s*** around. Now is not the time to start squealing like a bitch. Get behind the manager, a man who built this club up only for tossers to destroy it. Now he has to start all over again and fix their mess with again, one of the worst squads to represent us in our Premier League history. Whether he turns us around in the summer or whatever doesn't matter for now. It's all about staying up and getting behind people, most of all KK. Excellent riposte and an encouraging thread aswell Keep up the positive pressure HTT. Doug

Remember, Newcastle in the safety of mid table mediocrity is not newsworthy. Newcastle going down is an extremely desirable story. Serious undermining of the club and its structures will aid this Everything they print will be done with this end in mind. Doug

When are we going to realise its the papers setting the agenda once again. This is old news rehashed by the press, Mirror this time up to their mischief at the worst possible time, and as usual you lot are all biting like sharks, Same as when they tell you Keegan is no good most take it as fact. I give up i really do, Doug.
-
"tactical genius he is certainly not". As a matter of interest where did this "fact" originate. We seem to see statements of this kind regarding KK and his tactical acumen repeated a lot that are accepted as true without any real basis. KK is now 56 and has been in football all his life at the very highest level. He is articulate and intelligent and is more the victim of his own unassuming nature over his ability than any actual tactical naivety in my opinion. I suspect this is more received wisdom planted by our friends in the press and media all to easily accepted by gullible people who should know better. KK is one of the most experienced English managers left in football and we should have faith in his ability. Leave the doubt and skullduggery to the media. They can sling all the mud they want at KK. We dont have to agree with it. Doug.
-
You make me laugh, You talk as though we had no support pre KK. We were getting bigger crowds in the late sixties than we get now, We have always had massive support, they just dont always turn up when the product is consistently crap or as in the case of the seventies and eighties the jokers running the club to add insult to injury, pull down half of an already delapidated ground to go with the rubbish football. The post war management of this club should collectively hang their heads in shame the way they have squandered the riches of the support bestowed upon them by the most loyal group of fans to be found anywhere. That means globally whatever their backround or motivation. Doug.

Agreed, A distinctly unimpressed observer here. A one paced, one footed, uninspiring plodder if ever there was one. The latest latin probably feeling lost in an alien environment. Doug

Solano was irreplacable in terms of skill, guile, authority on the pitch and dedication to the cause. To say we are missing his influence is an understatement. I was gutted when he left. Doug.

Relegation - will we or won't we? *NO FIXTURE LISTS PLEASE*
Doug replied to ChrisJbarnes's topic in Football
This side will not beat Sunderland at home. Anyone who thinks that they will is heading for a shock. Next week we will be given a master class in centre forward play by Santa Cruz of Blackburn so don,t expect a clean sheet there either. I cant see where the next point is coming from. Doug. -
No domestic trophy for over half a century means no gloryhunters among Newcastle fans, so lay off them wherever they are from. My kids are born in the Midlands where I have settled and they are keener toon army fans than anyone. There must be thousands of similar 2nd generation fans all points south of Tyneside due to post industrial economic migration. If one day we get a winning team worth watching and we all turn up at once they will need a100,000 + seater stadium. Doug.

We think we have problems. Coventry have massive debts, heading out of the championship, don,t even own their own new ground, Just as it was completed at the same time as they were relegated from the premiership the Browns Lane Jaguar factory it was to be named after, where lots of the fans worked, closed down. Had to call it the ricoh arena and can,t ever fill it now. The old packed Highfield Road ground with joint longest continuous top flight status has now been pulled down and had houses built on it. sad demise of a historic top flight club. Doug.
