Wake me up when something happens please. -
So following that logic throughout the team it's basically con = Steve McClaren then? About right, we'd not be in this much of a mess with a better manager anyway. This is it for me. We've strengthened a squad already good enough to do better then where we currently are. Money has been spent, but mostly not on the areas most in need of change (central midfield aside). Sticking with McClaren has been the biggest gamble and could well still see us go down.

Ah right

Club have kept this news up their sleeve for deadline day haven't they?

Spurs will snap him up tomorrow.

Nah, got to remember the recurring donations which reduce the monthly deficit. About half that though, which is mental enough. Fuck me, that's amazing! Now how do I go about claiming my money back.

6-0?

Spot on. It also means our bench will at least have one fairly creditable option to bring on if things aren't working. Competition for places and more balance in the team can only be a good thing really.

Wasn't it proved in the KK lawsuit that the club had been deliberately bidding low? I remember an interview he gave (think it's on YT) that he'd (KK) get the price the club wanted and the wages the player wanted then would sit back to find out the club had offered lower and then just pulled the plug. Ok they may bid but they have been proved to of done this deliberately knowing it won't get accepted in the past. “We wanted to sign Sami Hyypiä. “The fee had to be £1.25million. We knew what his wages would be. “So I went to Wise and Jimenez and said if you put that offer in he will come. The wages weren’t excessive. “We left it with them. We got a phonecall four hours later from Sami saying: ‘What’s going on here?’ “They offered £500,000. They came back and said we’ve offered but they turned it down.” I'm sure this is true, but to me it's more the club disagreeing with KK and/or not wanting the player enough to pay the going rate. I'm sure we do this, I just don't think it's for PR reasons. Why would you even bid for a player that you do not want? A bid so far from the asking price that you know it will be rejected out of hand. Isn't that the very definition of a "we tried" bid that people are referring to here? P.S. I agree it's a boring argument but howay, there's plenty of evidence for what LFEE alluded to, from people far more reputable and respectable than the cunts currently officially representing the club.

Based on the notion that nothing good ever appears to happen to this club, and ultimately a descend into the abyss is required to restore hope that we will one day be a competitive football club once more, we will stay up by the smallest of margins yet again. We'll be here or herabouts as also rans desperately hanging on to the gravy train for the foreseeable future. Mackems Mk II.

Glad we got rid. No end product. We're much better off without this fat, lazy lard.

Thought this was the Pardew thread for a second

People were saying he'd walk before he was pushed if things didn't work out. Can anybody still see this happening? Not a chance imo. He'll take us down before he jacks it in. Man, we hit the jackpot with someone actually paying money to take Pardew of our hands to give us a clean slate and we squandered it by handing Carver the job (to almost catastrophic effect last season) whilst waiting for this utter dudd.
