The bending effort against effort against Everton in 05/06 probably ranks up in one of my top five favourite goals in all honesty. It was Nobby down to a tee. My all-time favourite player after Shearer. Wouldn't argue massively that it was time for him to go from a footballing perspective, given the other pieces of business this transfer window. But there was still a place in the squad for him, and from a sentimental point of view it's very sad. And i would have been much happier had he have gone back to Peru or something.
