  1. Rubbish. He's a centre-back.

    Fener - Palermo

A draw would be fantastic. A Fenerbahce win is the next best thing, though. Then they're both level on points, and neither is any closer to us...
  3. Didn't Nene play against us for Real Mallorca?

    All-time...

Haven't really been around long enough to make a valid input in this thread but... One question: What position was Peter Beardsley in his second stint at the club? I had always thought of him as a striker. Also, one other question that someone might be able to answer: Why did Paul Kitson play so many games in the 94/95 season?
  5. Would be absolute madness to be honest. As has been said, Solano must have played 20+ games for club/country in the right-back position. And he's never been catastrophic. Better than Carr, anyway. Mind you... wasn't it Oliver that said Shearer would play centre-back against Wigan in the Carling Cup? (I think that was the game).
  6. I think he probably does deserve to. When he's started matches this season, never mind them being in an alien to position to what he usually plays, he fights the constant criticism and sticks it in the back of the net. It was absolutely insane that he didn't play against Watford after the Palermo game.
  7. Awesome left-back. I'd rather buy him in Jan than wait until the summer... every man and his dog will be after him in the summer if he's on a free.

    Must we?

I'm all for spending our cash to a minimum in January, bringing in players that'll just get us a respectable position, and then going all out in the summer. Viduka/Lua Lua/etc -these type of players, aswell as Distin and Bridge... would do me nicely for this season.

    Oba Time

Just why??? When the rest of the world calls them Levadia Tallinn, why does he change it the other way round? WHAT IS THE POINT? :wullie:

    Huntelaar

Well it'd certainly be £10m+, but if this takeover goes through and we get amounts of money to spend in the summer (i'd rather we kept the spending down to a minimum this window), we might be alright. If they ask for 20million Euros, that's £13m there or thereabouts. Funny, cos the more i think about that, the better i think it looks. So long as we buy/loan a stopgap striker(s) in January, to give us a respectable position come May, we've got more to spend in the summer. If we can get Huntelaar in, get Ameobi and Owen back from injury and keep Luque - the three-striker formation looks quite feasable. Five strikers, two of which are used to playing on the left side of a three-pronged attack (Martins and Luque). Two who are used to playing through the centre (Shola and Huntelaar), and then Owen who can probably play anywhere. I'm talking totally pie in the sky, i know, but i just like to go on these raves every so often. Atleast i'm better than Roeder.

    Huntelaar

    Dyer ------------------ Parker ------------------ N'Zogbia --- Owen ------------ Huntelaar ------------- Martins ---- ? Totally hypothetical btw. That'd be better suited to Luque n'all.

    http://home.skysports.com/club.aspx?clid=4&cpid=8 How fat is Huntelaar?

    Huntelaar

Never heard of Emanuelson... and if Huntelaar comes here - i WILL die of shock.
  14. Keegan: gone mad, pretty much out of the game altogether now. Did nowt since he left us. Shearer: Unknown as to whether he'll ever make it as a manager. People need to stop being romantic. It's not a realistic prospect and it's not a good one either.
  15. What an appropriate expression. Continue drifting, go with the flow, let the tide of popular opinion take you where it will... ...watch out for rocks. So, because my opinion is shared by the majority - that makes it incorrect? That's what you're saying. Odd. No, the fact that it's incorrect, makes it incorrect. All your opinion being shared by the majority makes is: me depressed. Let's look at what you're saying: Give Bramble away for free. Some issues that might arise from that course of action: 1. We have a wafer-thin squad, which you are suggesting we make even thinner. 2. We have hardly any money, but you want to use what little we do have, not on strengthening our wafer-thin squad, but on replacing a player we already have, but you want to give away for free. 3. Blatantly if we give him away, whoever picks him up will turn him a good, reliable, dependable, central-defender, because they will have coaches that actually know what they are doing. 4. How many more of our players would you suggest we simply give away? Dyer, Shola, Luque, etc, etc, etc? Who's going to play for us next season? Me? You? The team is going to be strengthened in January/in the summer. Bramble is expendable, even if he is just 'replaced' and the squad doesn't get any bigger, i'm not bothered. The squad will have improved no matter what. I'm sick off seeing Titus Bramble in the squad when he has never, ever been good enough and never will be at this club. Simple as really. That's the end of it as far as i am concerned.

  17. It took us 18 months to get rid of Boumsong... our squad decreased but our defense improved. Bramble's been here for 4 years+... Catch my drift?

    £25m in Jan?

Given Neill --- Distin --- Moore* --- Bridge Milner --- Parker --- Dyer --- Duff Martins --- Bent *For this season. You've dropped our only good defender. And included a bear terminal (hopefully) crock. I'm guessing you're talking about Taylor and Dyer? Moore's the more organised defender in my opinion, infact i think he is actually our best defender - and what he lacks in 'nimbleness' (won't say pace), Distin makes up for... a la the working partnership of Boumsong and Bramble or 04/05. I'm a huge fan of Taylor and i think having Distin and Moore in the squad, aswell as Bridge, will bring the likes of Taylor and Ramage on. And the Dyer inclusion is only when he's fit.

I was seriously pissed off that we sold him. He was a significant part of the spine of our team. When we sold him and 'replaced' him with Butt, the organisation of our midfield capitulated big time. And he's been immense for Bolton this season and last. He'd improve our squad significantly... he should never have left.
