I was going to say the same thing. Mine however, would have been a joke. I can't believe someone's actually said it. It was supposed to be more of a joke/piss take but i kinda fucked it up by not using Morph's name Fuck's sake. I was just about to post: "bet he comes back saying it was supposed to be a joke". Damn.
-
Aye. Aswell as having utterly shit grammar.
-
thats unfortunately true. picked on names alone. I'll slate McClaren till the cows come home, but that comment is eligible for the Lampard/Gerrard situation alone.
-
Don't see any reason for why Owen/Martins shouldn't be tried out. I'd say do it in the Carling Cup; but away to Arsenal's nippy youngsters, negative football is ay-ok.
-
People with ambition deserve fame and recognition tbh. Can't question Harper's loyalty to us, but if he ever really, desperately, wanted a number one shirt, he would have left yonks ago.
-
Don't disagree. Viduka and Owen firing on all cylinders, i just cannot wait for. I don't think it'll take overly long; just get the feeling that Viduka's played too much. Maybe the injury at the weekend is evidence of that? Should have been used more sparingly so far, imo - but what do i know?

I don't mind Smith, though not a massive fan and wasn't especially 'pro' his signing (wasn't really against, either), has he actually been played in his proper position, yet? Aye, he's akin to Parker in midfield becuase, like Parker, he hasn't got the attributes of an effective central midfielder. He'll tackle and bite, but he ain't got spark, and he's hardly box-to-box. And right-wing? Jesus Christ. Viduka's been shite. Ameobi led the line well against Barnsley but... dunno, Smith's got more potential. I wouldn't be against Smith starting upfront alongside Owen against Derby. Viduka wouldn't be a bad impact substitute at all (providing he switched with Smith, not Owen, logically).

It's the "gets let off cos he's a Geordie" theory that's absolutely drivel. Crumpy's sentiment is just about correct, despite been over-exaggerated to a stupid extent.

Scarborough Reserves 2-1 Newcastle Reserves

Derby (A) - Draw West Ham (H) - Win Arsenal, Carling Cup (A) - Lose Man City (A) - Lose Everton Home (H) - Draw I'll be livid if we don't beat Derby. They'll come back from the break all guns blazing though.
-
Presumably why he's been offered a new contract on a lot more. how do you know he's been offered more? How do you know he's on £9,000?
-
If we'd kept Roeder we'd have simply been another West Ham or Sunderland this summer. Spending absolute boatloads on shit. Bale and Davies would have come in for around £20m probably.
-
Observation of the day from Towelie there. If Newcastle score three, Derby have to score four in order to win.
-
Dunno about anyone else, but my name and number were the proper material stuff, the 'squishy' stuff, as Niina put it. Like the sponsor.
-
If he'd left the club before the turn of the decade, he'd have played for England by now. Broad statement - but if he'd gone sooner - he'd have been a number 1 somewhere, i reckon. But now? No, not really. Better cover than the likes of Kirkland and Foster, yeah - but i think he's definitely thrown that opportunity away.
-
Aye, he was Charlie Woods' capture, iirc.
-
Ahh. Righto. I see. Ah, suppose i can see the argument now, yeah.
-
Sorry, i'm a bit ignorant tbh. I don't really know the half of it in all honesty. I just read what Toontastic said and it sounded a bit daft.
-
I swear i must be missing something. I haven't entered or read any of the Toon Ultras arguments/debates, but is there actually summat, hidden beneath it all, that is so dispicably taboo about the name, or something?
-
We play that standard of team every season beginning and do shite.
-
Blatant advertising tbh. You need to sign up.
-
That's the thing. We've lacked creativity and the cutting edge, but we haven't once looked like losing, imo.
-
Aye - Dave's implying that the crowd are cheering at the fact that Carr won't be playing, whereas Beye thinks the applause is for him. Uhuhuhu, good one Dave.
