Being totally honest, i just want to see Luque given a chance. That's all. I don't think that he doesn't put effort in - the only games he's played this season have been as a lone striker, which is hardly high-active. He put in an encouraging display against Celta Vigo, in the first half especially - finding space, making crosses, running at players, getting into goalscoring opportunities, etc - and deep down, i just think that he can come good. He's not the best left-winger at the club at the moment, but he has the potential to be. The quality is there, there's no doubt about that.

Well you're true in some respects... only i remember the only other game he played out wide® for us, which turned out to be the game that he got injured, and he put in a couple of sublime crosses that day aswell, very early in the game.

I've been saying for ages how i want to see Luque playing on the left-wing for us, and i can't help but be encouraged by what i saw the other night. I knew he could cross well, and he did. They weren't good crosses, they were absolutely brilliant crosses - just begging to be put in the net. And had we have had more than one receiver in the box, if we had had Martins in there, we would have scored from those crosses. I know you hate him Gemmill but i believe he can come good in a position where he looks a hell of a lot more comfortable. And to say he didn't put any effort in the other night, is madness tbh. I want to see him given a run, but longer term the answer is probably Duff. Infact, the long term should be N'Zogbia. Duff should never have been bought. And no, i wasn't there against Celta. But i have a TV set and i could tell from there.

Based on matches this season, Sibierski, by a country mile. The fact that he came here with such a rotten reputation about his playing ability, and how everyone wrote him off (including me, i was livid when we signed him), he's now one of very few people in the team who i actually expect to score us a goal. He's become something of a cult hero here at Newcastle, and it's cracking really. It's a shite season and we'll say that in May, but he'll be one of the higher points. He'll be remembered.

Dunno what Tisd is on about. Heinze is much higher in the pecking order than Silvestre. Who, in my opinion, is very average.

He's not been awful, he was the other night, but not on the whole. He just hasn't been as good. Hardly surprising, really.

Two or three of his crosses were absolutely sublime, and if we had two strikers in the box (or one striker, technically), i'm pretty sure atleast one of them woul dhave been converted* - they really were that good. Infact, the last time he played wide® left, against Fulham last season, he put in one or two fantastic crosses before going off injured. Plus he tracked back and tackled well, opening up the play. He constantly was finding space out wide and that's what provided him the space to put in those crosses. He faded in the second half, granted, but his first half performance was quite encouraging in my opinion. Far better than i've ever seen him as a lone striker*. :roll: *Almost as if Roeder is trying to make it hard for him.

Purely based on the fact that i've never seen Duff play well, and based on the other fact that we simply ain't seen Luque... i'll say Luque. Not saying he is, but he might be, and it's worth trying out because Duff is just hopeless. However, Zoggy needs/deserves/craves more games - and not at centre-midfield, where he is absolutely shite. He's off form and it's only because he's at Newcastle. If he were at Arsenal right now, he'd be better than he was last season, not worse.

Doubt Shepherd would have him back anyway.

We've done marvellous. Absolutely no doubt about it. I would have taken 3rd place with open arms a huge smile on my face; 1st place is fantastic.

I'd like to see us go for him when Nobby goes... Just depends how far into the future that is. But as has been said - we've got more out-standing priorities at the moment.
