But i agree in the respect that he's been getting forward a surprising amount this season - i noticed that significantly against Barnsley; he loitered around the edge of the box quite frequently and made one or two runs in. That doesn't mean that that's his game though and he hasn't played it particularly well - he's just been told to do it because Emre and Barton (the natural attackers) are out.

Could we? Yes. Should we? No. Stick him in with an offensive player in a 4-4-2 and he'll be in there doing a very decent job. What sort of creative centre-midfield do you want from a Nicky Butt/Geremi partnership? Never mind Alan 'the grafter' Smith. How long's Emre out for?

True I'm not claiming o be accurate but we know theymust be on a few quid why else would alot of them turn down european football? Well, if we're being concerned about wages compared to other Premiership sides, then we need to quell fears. You know that the likes of West Ham, City and other formerly/currently mediocre mid-table teams are throwing rediculously large bundles of unwarranted dosh at players... why else would that calibre of player go to those teams?

That's what happened last season and look how we struggled. Yeah! Proving my point in my previous post, people were asking this exact same question when Given was injured last season.

FYP. Harper's playing well but Given will play better. We've been in this situation several times before over the past ten years.
