We'd be doing better than we are now.
-
/ Roeder picks the players he wants to buy. / Shepherd tries to sign them. Both of them are equally crap at each job.
-
Erm... yeah? :? Prime example: N'Zogbia. Has an unbelievable season last season, now needs a good manager and coach to bring him on, and bump him to the next level of playing ability. He can't do it all by himself because he is a young man. Milner is another example. And Taylor. And Ramage. And Martins, etc. Look at Arsene Wenger - the 18-year-olds he has in his squad will all develop into brilliant players. Just like Taylor and Ramage and Zoggy would do under him, because he is a brilliant coach. Roeder's a bad manager, so our players won't improve very much under him.

Erm... yeah? :?

The other four things all come under 'Roeder', so Roeder.
-
Very well. He was the one that changed the game for us. I'd like to start him ahead of Milner (Taylor at RB), but Nobby's good performances only ever seem to come from the bench. He's become an impact player. Like against Watford the other night.
-
Agreed, Roeder really needs to realise that Taylor Moore Ramage Babayaro is our most balanced and best back 4. Agreed.
-
Harper - Excellent when called upon, apart from one flustered punch that came to nowt anyway. Made some very good saves, but his kicking was poor. 7. Carr - Very poor. Cannot defend to save his life and we improved together as a team when he went off. 5. Moore - Thought he played quite well, made some timely interventions, but wasn't the leader i want him to be. 6. Taylor - In and out, didn't really see a huge amount. But his presence was good. He should be our first choice right-back tbf. 6. Ramage - Good. Can't pass the ball out of defense to save his life and still has no attacking prowess. That's because he's a centre-back, and a centre-back with a hell of a tackle on him. 7. Milner - Poor. Really, really shoddy performance from Milner. He can beat a man, yes, but his passing was wayward, shots laughable and his corners were shocking. 5. Emre - He was alright, he linked up well with Sibierski at times but his set pieces are still mega-frustrating, and his overall final ball was poor. Again. 6. Parker - Parker was too slow for my liking today, and it's something we keep seeing. He wins the ball well, but takes far too long to get rid of it. 6. Duff - Pretty much anonymous and some of his passes were shocking to say the least. 5. Ameobi - Injured. Simple as. Shouyld never, ever have played. 5. Sibierski - He wasn't really in it, but showed some really nice touches at times. Unfortunately, he hasn't got an ounce of pace and his passing was wasteful at times. 6. --- N'Zogbia - In and out. Busy. Nice to see someone who will actually run at defenders, which is what Zoggy did. That shot was crap though. 6. Dyer - Good performance from Dyer - linking the play, getting into areas (which Milner wouldn't pass into) and was really unlucky with THE chance. 7. Solano. Changed the game for us when he came on. Defended strongly when he needed to, and gave us something completely extra when he came on. He looked like the one player who could have created a winning opportunity in the game. Great little performance. 8.

Souness' fixture list was arguably tougher than Roeder's aswell.
-
Dyer --- Parker IS the centre-midfield combo. Withoud a doubt for me. I didn't think Emre was too bad today. He won a lot of balls and linked up well with Sibierski. But like the entire midfield, his final ball was really poor.
-
Dyer was good when he came on - but the substitution that really changed it for us was Nobby for Carr. He was great when he came on, especially going forward, but defended pretty damn well aswell! Frustrating his only good performances come from the bench nowadays. I thought Milner was awful today btw.
-
Just shows you what extra impetus Dyer gives us. Clearly ropey having missed that sitter, but it was an absolutely brilliant challenge from Richards to keep it out. Pathetic performance overall though.
-
Can't believe Ameobi's playing. That's senseless. And no Luque or Rossi on the bench. Depressing tbh. We really do have a totally shite manager. Man City 2-0 Newcastle
-
I dunno... Tottenham at home wouldn't be too bad. Definitely winnable and it knocks out the one team with an outside chance. Therefore leaving us. And it depends entirely on what team Arsenal would play, but at home to their reserves would be a decent draw aswell. Wouldn't say no to Wycombe, mind.
-
Robert, certainly. The likes of Speed, Nobby and Jenas (at the time) too. Bellamy - hardly. He never played.
-
Alan Shearer scored 28 goals the season after we finished 3rd.
-
Why do you keep shouting the surnames?

Wasn't saying Harper should keep Given out of the team, just saying that he's done well.
-
Harper's performance has been far from laughable, and it would be idiotic to think so. Bar his error at Liverpool (that effectively meant nowt anyway, we were never going to equalise), he's done a decent job in-between the sticks while Given has been away. Some of the saves he has pulled off have been quality, Given-esque at times. He hasn't been mindblowing, but he's done a tidy job while Shay's been out, and i'd still be surprised if there are a huge amount of Number 2s in this division that are better than Harper...
