Let's say the takeover goes through and we do have that £25,000,000 to spend. Chop and change... wheel and deal... what would you do? Yeah another January thread. If mods want to delete/combine this with another thread that's fine.
  9. Solano's one to bring on from the bench with 20 minutes to go, he's very effective at that point. In just about every first half, he's clever and dangerous and effective - but he always burns out in the second period. Nobby changed the game when he came on against Man City, and had we have won, it would have been largely down to his introduction not Dyer's. Dyer didn't really do a huge amount for the most part of that game: the whole team started to play when Nobby came on, with his fresh legs. Milner should be the one starting games.

  12. Given Solano --- Taylor --- Bramble --- Ramage Milner --- Emre --- Butt --- N'Zogbia Sibierski --- Martins Subs: Harper, Huntington, Parker, Pattison, Luque, Dyer, Carroll The defense picks itself really, thanks to the multitude of injuries. Besides, Ramage is defending well in my opinion and both Tayls and Nobby are better than Carr at right-back. Probably. With the exclusion of Duff and Nobby from midfield, it again pretty much picks itself. However i want to drop Parker because he is so ineffective in the opposition's half, even though he's got a few goals. Butt is playing extremely well, especially in Europe - he put in a man of the match performance against Palermo... he was a fifth defender, which we will really need on Thursday. and i think the balance is better with Emre. Rest Dyer, with thoughts towards the weekend, give him 20 or 30 minutes of the second half, when we'll probably really need him. Anyone who can justify dropping Martins after his best performance in a black and white shirt, is as insane as Roeder. Play him with our cup hero, Sibierski.
  13. I'd like to see that at some point tbh. Zoggy has been underplayed, but not majorly. He's played in every single game this season but one, he just hasn't started enough. I want him to start against Vigo, but i want to se Luque played in his best position... something he's never done here.
  14. Good result against Deportivo mind... Did Baiano score?
  15. Have you seen who's team it is?
  16. Yeah, and i can imagine Roeder would want to save him and Mathie for the Carling Cup.
  17. i have called him thick in the past, but i agree, it is probably just inexperience tbh. not sure what duff's excuse is I'm sure, like AS9 has said, that a lot of it is down to having an inept left-back behind him. Whether it be Babayaro or Ramage, neither are very good. In my opinion, Duff is one of those players that can only play well when there are other good players around him, that can explain his fantastic performances at Chelsea. He only appears to play well in a good team. In Blackburn he stood out because he was young and the shining light of an average team. Here, he is playing in a bad team under a bad manager.

    Injuries??

Must admit a full 90 at the pace yeah I am waiting for it too. If he is not injured then maybe just maybe they have cracked it. He'll probably be rested for Vigo anyway, with the weekend game in mind. Three full games in a week won't do Dyer any good i don't reckon, so he'll probably only get 20-30 minutes on Thursday - i think that's probably best. That's if Roeder's got any sense. Besides which, we've got our cup hero fit so Martins and Sibierski an play upfront.

    Injuries??

I'm anticipating a Dyer injury, i know that much.
  20. Solano without hesitation. Sibierski probably. Moore probably - depends on how we do in the transfer window. Bramble - definitely NOT. I don't care if we don't bring in a replacement, he's been here for far too long.
