Haven't scored a pen since August 05. Come on Chelsea. I hate seeing Man Utd win the title.
-
I really, really, really hope we hammer them. You know, something like 4-0. That would give the whole club a massive lift - especially if Martins scored, he's absolutely desperate for a goal now. That's if he plays of course. Still sticking with my original prediction, though. 1-0 to the Toon. Duff looked good against Boro i thought, and the team clicked when he was on the field against Pompey, he actually beat his man once or twice  , so i'm expecting a decent performance from him today. About time his fortunes turned. COME ON NEWCASTLE
-
It depends who he plays with to be honest. Parker-Emre just doesn't work.
-
Harper Carr --- Taylor --- Ramage --- Babayaro Solano --- Parker --- N'Zogbia --- Duff Rossi --- Martins Roeder's got some 'nice' problems to solve before this weekend's game. I'd bring Carr back into the team because i think he has been performing well just recently, and i would continue with Babayaro, as he is the best left-back at the club. Plus, Taylor and Ramage showed a lot of promise when they played together against an offensive and dangerous Fenerbahce side. That was our best defensive performance of the season, and i don't care how well Bramble played on Thursday night - he doesn't merit a place in the side. Onto the midfield, with Nobby Solano, you are guaranteed a ball into the box, and as we saw the other day, his intelligence and accuracy of passing seems to have returned. That is a vitally important thing; Nobby was one of our best players at the back end of last season due to his creativity and his goalscoring. There was no one better in our team last season than splitting the defense with a pass. I've dropped Emre again, despite the fact that he's having a decent season in my eyes. Just his long balls, which are wayward or too long, are infuriating, and if we're going to play with Martins and Rossi - we need someone in there who is going to take opponents on and play the ball on the floor. Zoggy's the best in the squad at doing that, and it's time to see what he's really like in his favoured position, after a promising game there against Pompey. That leaves the left-wing to pick itself. We clicked when Duff came on the other night. Rossi's on form and i think he can form a partnership with Martins.

So if we win you back Shepherd all the way?
-
Newcastle United 1-0 Charlton Athletic Rossi
-
Shepherd's not as daft as the old Blackburn chairman. Shearer was offered the manager's job there at 26.
-
If there is any one player at this club who i think will never leave (well, in the near future), it's Parker.
-
It was a bit of a dive tbh.
-
Do you honestly think he deserves to be even tried on the left wing ahead of zog and duff? I don't think there would have been any harm in it in the Carling Cup game. Duff was rested and N'Zogbia was in the middle...
-
Luque is abymsal upfront. He needs to be tried out on the left wing! The Carling Cup game was ideal for that and i was really disappointed not to see him make an appearance.
-
No, that shirt's just too big for him.
-
Fantastic. Now Arsenal have to pay for him! He'll be a great player for us.

Harper Carr --- Ramage --- Taylor --- Duff Solano --- Parker --- Emre --- N'Zogbia Martins --- Rossi As it stands, with all matches and performances added up, that's our best team in my opinion. I still like Shola though, and woul dbe tempted to drop one of Martins or Rossi. probably Rossi. I'd drop Emre for Dyer though when he's fully fit. Dyer will help the two strikers immensely, as without having Emre - we lose the wayward long balls, and with Dyer - we get balls played on the floor. Carr's played well in his last few games, and credit to the guy. He's come under so much stick from the fans, in spite of Roeder's crazy and blinkered comments earlier in the season. Taylor and Ramage have also improved just recently and Duff has played his best game for us, rather depressingly, at left-back. Just keep Moore and Bramble out of the team. I just think both of them are bad news and are poor players. Taylor and Ramage have potential at the back there, and i think they can do well together - so long as they play!
-
Notts Co v Wycombe - Notts County... that's a total guess. Both are doing well. Spurs v Port Vale - Spurs will win that easily. Brum v Liverpool - Liverpool will win that easily. Chelsea v Villa - Tough one, but i think Chelsea will beat them, and that's good news cos i fancied Villa. Watford v Newcastle - I think we'll beat them but we have to be careful. Chesterfield v Charlton - Charlton will win that reasonably comfortbaly. Southend v Man Utd - Man Utd will cruise this one. Everton v Arsenal - Everton will beat Arsenal's reserves.
-
I think we have the players capable of qualifying for Europe. There's potential in our backline, despite how shite it is at the moment. O'Neill is one of the best managers in the business at turning bad players into good players; prime example: Matty Elliott. We've got two or three Matty Elliott originals back there at the moment.
-
Sven Goran Eriksson would get us, aswell as plenty other clubs in this division, into Europe. He's got a cracking record as a club manager. If Roeder were to go (highly doubtful at this point i know), i'd be pleased if we got him.
-
Agreed!
-
We've got Champions League prospects. Well, we would do with a better manager.
-
How did Babayaro play last night?
-
I think Dyer will help Oba immensely. Well, more the fact that Emre will be dropped is the thing that will help Oba. Emre has been guilty of playing wayward long balls that are simply far too long, added to the fact that we are shite in the air. Ameobi can't hold up the ball, despite his strength and presence, and i don't know where Sibierski got this reputation about heading the ball amazingly well. Martins is supposed to be the guy that is running onto these 'headers' from the opposite strikers... unfortunately, he's had nothing to run onto, which is why we should cut out this mindless long-ball shit - and Emre has been our most guilty player because of it. Dyer is one that will play the ball on the ground, like Zoggy, like Nobby, unlike Emre. I think with Dyer being in the centre of midfield will help Oba and his partner significantly. Oba's movement has been poor, i agree, but no way have i given up on him yet. He's been unlucky infront of goal, but he's clearly got goals in him.
-
Can't afford to let him go. Our midfield's got good strength in depth and it would be pointless selling him, because we'd have to replace him. And we've got other priorities.
-
Definitely. Ease him back into the side.
