  1. After the Arsenal game we have decent list of fixtures. With Carroll, Tioté and Ben Arfa back we'll be even better. Still don't think it'll be enough for Europe, and tbh it's a bit like when Reading came up and Coppell was scared of qualifying for Europe. We're not ready for it and need to build a squad to cope with it first.
  2. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,74078.msg2757140.html#msg2757140 Affirmative.
  3. Did I hear Pardew saying "we're going to put in work going to Portugal" in his post-match interview at Skysports? Squad heading there for the 2 week break now or what?
  4. Jose Enrique. Well, yes, but Simpson was clearly backing off his man too much this game. I suppose I am expecting a bit too much of him to play like Jose mk2 but still :/ Pretty smart move from Redknapp, earned them a point in the end. Should have had more cover for their goal though.
  5. .com seem to reckon Ireland is out of the picture for the same reasons as Larsson and SWP.
  6. http://swissramble.blogspot.com/ Brilliant blog on football finances, always an interesting read.
  7. He created Shola's goal at Wigan, assisted Lövenkrands vs. West Ham and at West Ham he crossed for Carroll and also sort of created Nolan's with his first cross. I wouldn't change anything about Barton.
  8. Has a lot to prove though. Scoring goals in Sweden is not telling much.
  9. Still no pictures of him flashing the 5-1?
  10. Agree on the core of the team. Two good young goalkeepers in Krul and Forster, a set of defenders in Colo, José (primarily), Williamson, Simpson, Taylor and Kadar (backup/good enough for now) that will not let us down, a midfield that wins most battles (Tioté, Nolan, Barton) and Hatem Ben Arfa being the most exciting signing for ages. Add Carroll with the world at his feet to that, and this can be the start of something very good. Like some have pointed out, I wish we had someone in charge of things that we all liked and respected, but Pardew can still win me over.
  11. So relaxed on the ball, so confident in his own ability to knock it off anyone. Reads the game superbly as well. Best defender I've seen in Newcastle, tops Woodgate the way he is playing now.
  12. The State of Israel Antisemitic are we? Joe Lewis is rich as fuck isn't he? Also their finances are brilliant according to their last annual report.
  13. I think Jenas made his debut against Southampton? 3-1 win..
  14. The quotes from Pardew that "it's proving difficult" - that one is new - is an indication that we've missed out on a couple of targets. I'd rather we didn't sign anyone than just brought in some shit for the sake of it tbh.

    The Derby XI.

Dabizas goal at SoS is one of my favourite goals of all time. He went close so many times, seemed desperate to score, and his celebration was class. From the games I've seen I'd say: ----------------Given------------------ Solano-O'Brien-Dabizas-N'Zogbia -------Nolan--Emre--Robert-------- ----Bellamy-Shearer-Ameobi-------
  16. Horrible if true. Couldn't think of a striker more similar to what we already have.
  17. Considering the usual winner of it does well at the WC. Also, I think Iniesta is the better footballer, a more accomplished player that doesn't rely as much on speed and balance as Messi does.
  18. Would be a good back-up player to have behind Tiote instead of Smith. Not sure he'll come here knowing that's what he's in for.
